some way over the top comments regarding Woryna, "deliberately fencing a fellow rider"..."going to kill somebody". The sport is desperate for characters and excitement, there's more comments on Woryna than the guy who actually won it, maybe just maybe people need to start looking outside of the current box of boring follow the leader speedway.
-
can you not make a new thread for Eastbourne?....i come on here for regular Brandon updates and have to trawl through updates on other venues.
-
Decent meeting... Woryna is box office, tough as old nails and doesn't give an inch, he certainly brightens the GP series up. Kurtz will look back on that GP and will admit it was his to lose, he had the plum draw but was out ridden by Lambert. BZ looked way down on speed but is still joint leader in the series, Lambert is lurking in the shadows.

Leicester vs. Ipswich KO CUP Final 2nd Leg 30/07/26
Odds On replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
BSN commentators lovefest with the Lions riders and team manager is a tad gringy -
Interesting reading the comments regarding the Poole track, they seem very unfounded and unwarranted...The Poole track has always been consistent, nothing has changed since the days of Schofield, Crump, Rossiter etc the only thing that has changed is that nowadays it is the likes of Lawson and Cook.
-
so who was happy with the result?... i doubt the Belle Vue promoters as it would of cost a fortune with that tally of home points....Belle Vue fans, good home win but the the lack of real close racing was at a bare minimum....BSN viewers, as above....Foxes promoters and fans, poor display by the team.

Northampton vs Ipswich June 29th
Odds On replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
why the criticism for a new venture in Northampton is beyond me....Lets look at some of the facts. The stadium is mainly built around cars, no cars equals no speedway, now if that means there are times when the track isn't up to it then that's the nature of the beast I'm afraid, far from ideal but unless you have a purpose built speedway facility then that's what the Foxes have too work with. The promoters were late to the party in terms of team building, it's not rocket science that the team isn't strong enough, take a look at the other side of the coin if the Foxes weren't in the league. Instead of fans getting on the backs of a new organisation who are willing to take a financial risk why not try and get behind them...then again if you listen to some on here speedway is already in the final throngs of existence and appear to thrive on that negative mentality. -
Hard riding?..yes.....dirty riding?...not in a million years! Some of us who have seen more sunsets than we would like to admit, back in the day you would get 3 or 4 instances like this in one meeting, however if there was instance of dirty riding, it would certainly kick off either on the track or in the pits, or the victim would have a notepad in the tool box with the culprits name on it...then in twelve months time fans would think "jeez that was a bit uncalled for".

Nothing but a Ipswich win, Bomber will do very well to score anything over 8pts.

Best rider/s for coming from the back.

all three of them came from grass track racing.....saying that the likes of Wiggy, Kelvin Tatum were good gaters. -
Stars vs Lions PL R1 22/06/26 19:30 (ish 😎) Live on BSN
Odds On replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
decent meeting helped by the closeness of the scoreline...oldest rider on show and he shows more balls than most of the others on show, don't go blaming the track take a closer look at the riders, half of them can't overtake, majority of them get out of shape with the slightest sign of grip/dirt. Fastest line was the wide line, you see certain riders playing the percentages and riding white line-middle. -

not a bad meeting. Hodder take a bow. Looked like the track was prepared to negate the Bomber high wide and handsome style? Decent looking crowd all things considered. -

having watched Klindt the last two nights, i would fully agree with you.

BSN, i had pictures that were pixalating when the racing was in full flow, i know they mentioned it during the meeting so were aware of the issue. Racing and presentation of the meeting, far too long to run a meeting, track looked awful and a number of riders looked out of shape on it!. I thought Rushen, Cairns, Scott, Loftus, Perry, Foord, Pijper all looked good.....regarding Pijper he will soon learn when having an engine failure you just don't "dump" the bike on the track for your mechanic to pick up, right there right then showed a poor attitude, only something small but stood out a mile.

Do you miss the great occasion that was Cardiff ?
Odds On replied to Phannan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
typical speedway fans, harping on about the good old days. Cardiff has had its day it was a bore fest and has long gone. Perhaps if someone could organise the making of Cardiff programme boards and flasks that would bring back the good old days for some? -
from someone who has been to most British GP's...from Wembley, Cardiif, Belle Vue etc....none of them come close to what we are being served up right now, none of them. Instead of people trying to find faults with the last two nights of racing, try and draw on the positives. I for one loved both nights, admittedly I only went to the last night meeting but the atmosphere was very good, the racing was good and dare i say the whole event was run well. Only thing missing was a British rider on the rostrum but the racing made up for that. Cannot wait for next years two rounds at Belle Vue.
