Birmingham Brummies 2015

According to his dad, and i quote from Fb, "I looked at a photo the other day of Adam's first competitive ride on a 500 speedway bike. It was in the British youth championship at Eastbourne, July 2012…….. some people forget he's only been riding speedway a few years". So basically 2014 was his 2nd full season of racing a Speedway bike, and to get a 4.67 in the PL in what was is 2nd season in the PL was decent progress, the PL reserve position as we all know was far harder than the Elite FT scheme in 2014. As to why PL Teams were not knocking his door down ? only they and Adam know the answer to that one. I will hazard a guess, and its only a guess, his dad was disapointed that due to rules he could NOT spend another season (2014) in the NL to gain more experience. According to 2 Team managers in the NL Adam will be on The Higher of Adams 2 averages, 1 double his PL average which was 4.67 x 2 = 9.34 as a matter of interest only, his 2013 IOW average was 8.90. So it will be slightly tougher for Brum to Team build, but hey Adam Ellis is a fantastic prospect, and No doubt Phil Morris used his used his connection with Neil Vatcher (Lakeside) as Adam is a Lakeside asset, will we be seeing more prospects signed up from the British youth set-up ? who knows and who really cares? it certainly will keep other Teams on there toes during the close season. -

Jayne Moss has just confirmed its the higher of the 2 averages that Adam will have, so seems its 9.34 but i still expect him to improve on that, however Tony Mole will need someone like Ellis Perks down at the bottom end to compensate for a 9 pointer at the Top, with a 36 point max limit. -

Im guessing he has commited himself to Brum for the season, i think they have named him as Captain, but undoubtably he will be close to being No1 rider in the League not only for Brum. -

All teams are allowed 1 rider over 30, The other reason is if a rider has a PL average over 4 he cant ride NL unless he doesnt have a PL team spot, hence Stoke signed Ben Wilson in 2014, but lost him when he signed for Sheffield. Can someone enlighten me about this age 25 restriction ? its a new one to me. Paul Starke his PL average is to high, Dan Halsey has re signed for Mildenhall, I would want my No1 to have a higher average than Jon Armstrong, Lee Smart isnt the Lee we used to know. Maybe i can throw another name into the hat, but i dont know if he has ever ridden for the Brummies, how about local boy Ashley Morris ?. -

Im thinking probably Simon Lambert, surprised to see that Jack Lee wont be returning, maybe GD will return in the short term, however its not ideal when riders need to be signed. Maybe Tony Mole could invite Malcolm Vasey to do the job, no one has more experience of the NL than Malcolm. -

Here is a website that you Brummie fans might like, will be nice to have some rivalry between you and the rest of us. https://www.facebook.com/groups/216596265131644/ It will be good to have some, wind up merchants on there, if only to put us Heathens in our place..lol -
Those 1/4 odds are a bit Skinny Savalas.
-
Finally i found the quote from Nigel Pearson on Fb "Nigel Pearson Ian - the club has lost money this season and the only reason I referred to this fact was to try and address some suggestions that we are only in this for the money. Not this season, for sure, we haven't even taken expenses!! In the bigger picture of the track situation I agree, nothing to do with it. Cheers." Which makes it even more of goodwill gesture that Cradley Heathens haved pegged ticket prices at the same level as last year, now all that remains is for us to find another 5 riders.

What do people expect to see, and what would they like to see from the AGM today ?. Im expecting to see the applications from Birmingham, Eastbourne and Rye House, and a New Minimum and Maximum points limit. I would like to see, No riders to return to pits after a false start. I would like to see the same formula for Heats as used in the Elite League ie 2 guarded reserves races, and Heat leaders racing each other more. The re introduction of a Tactical ride, when a Team is 6 points behind or a double tactical if a team is 10 points behind, instead of the current Double points ride. In my opinion its always better if a result is decided by gaining points on track, rather than being given double points. The KO Cup to be completed by the end of July, Teams can then concentrate on There League meetings. Also i have never been a fan of Play offs, however most teams see them as a money spinner, but dont seem to realise this then devalues ordinary meetings to no more than a qualifying competition.

I do believe Gustix, that you are more or less housebound, so therefore people on here should be cutting you a little more slack than the average poster, so come on guys lighten up.
-
Tremendous signing, lets hope they can sort out the red Tape.
-
That depends very much how The Teams build, 5 x 6 pointers and 2 x 3 pointers would be another way to go, now that Lakeside have again decided not to pursue the NL, maybe the Limit will be 38 Max and 30 minimum, my own opinion is i would like to see the max as 36 thereby bringing the League closer together in terms of competivness.
-
Kent have used 26.25 points for the 4 signings, 36 points has been suggested as the new points limit, which will leave you 3 x 3 pointers to complete your line up. No Simon, no Benji, and no David, certainly with the riders you have announced so far you should be up there, but of course these final 3 signings are going to be significant, and Eastbourne, Rye House and Kent are going to be scrapping for the best of them in the South East. Will Daddy Silver be doing baby Silver any favours ?.
-
And which of us two raised Cradley on this thread ? The South East has a great opportunity right now, with training Tracks at Rye and Eastbourne, and Iwade, that gives youngsters every opportunity now, to progress in the sport.
-
How much is Benko paying Plymouth, so that he can ride for them ?.
-
Hahaha, You are another that doesnt understand Cradley Fans, do you think for one moment we will stand for being sold down the river to Birmingham ? No we wont, but we have been around for a few years and unlike Kings who are a completely new Team.
-
I think what AJ is saying, is surely there is a clash of interests here, can you imagine if one of the teams (Kings or Raiders) is pushing for a title, we could have the scenario where the weaker Team loans the stronger Team shall we say a good reserve to help them out with a Title push. Hmmmm i think Two Teams in the same League with shared interests is taking things one step to far.
-
On about young Germans I like the look of young Kai Huckenbeck lovely stylist, but would he come to the UK ?. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2RcJKjbqlc
-
Cleggy is a good lad, and he wont let you down, obviously it will take a little time for him to adjust to the PL, but he is one for the future, and surely thats what a reserve is all about, not a foreigner who will never be better than a 4 pointer, If Fox doesnt come back, you could do a lot worse than signing Novatril, in my opinion a better prospect than Fox and on a par with Manzares, but of course he would start off on a 5 point average.

firstly yes they may be boosted, but still only 1 rider will win each race, be it a home or away rider, I am not great on history but in recent times i cant recall 2 Teams in the same division Track sharing. -

Cradley have never entered the NT Im guessing neither will The Brummies, The KO Cup now thats a different thing Im pretty sure both Teams will be entered for that. The cut off date for the League is usually end of September. so it gives roughly 29 weeks, for 10 Home League meetings and possibly 3 Cup meetings, Im sure a bye can be arranged for the 1st round of the KO Cup. Cradley have staged the Under 21 Final for the last 2 seasons, it would be nice if it could be held at Perry Barr. Whats the planning conditions on the Bank Holiday fixtures at Perry Barr ?. -
Yes Islander 15, you are normally pretty spot on with your comments, however i think Hunter is probably correct, Brandon never seemed to get going in 2014, it seemed one injury after another at the start of the season, then he just seemed to drift away.

Despite having not covered expences in 2014 and relocating to a new Track, Cradley Heathens have announced the following; “We are pegging our admission prices at £11 adults, £8 concessions and £2 children and our programme will again be available for £2.50.
