  1. Try this Link https://www.facebook.com/groups/198832456794185/ actually i find it a very interesting group, ex rider Karl Fiala is the main man, there are a lot of ex riders who are members, Cribby is one of them, Martin Mckinna, Deanno, Bert Harkins, the who are they and where are they now make for great reading, its also a way of catching up with old friends, I just stay away from the stupid debates, and get involved with whats reasonable, but i still cant resist occasionally having a word..lol Gustix, i think you may find the site of interest.
  2. I think if Kent could race on a more supporter friendly day and time, then they would sustain PL or even EL racing, thats why its imperative another day and time is found, but some mouth watering local derbies are in prospect for Kent and Sussex, if i were them i wouldnt bother entering the National Trophy in the NL, just arrange a couple of 2 legged Trophy meetings amongst themselves, the Dudley/Wolves Trophy was always keenly fought out back in the day between Wolves/Cradley.
  3. It aint over till its over, I can see Ben and Simon holding there own up at Coventry, Danny should be more than a match for there reserves, Baseby what can i say, he was the Kent trump card tonight, i have heard David Mason may be unable to make the return leg so it will come down to Benji to make up for tonight, yes if i were to have a bet i would put my money on Coventry, but like i said you still have hope with an improving Danny Ayres sure he is sure to have a big say, in the 2nd leg, remember he can take 7 rides.
  4. With regards Kent and its current curfew, it definately needs to be changed from its current stringent timescale, I understand they have to tie in with the greyhounds, but that shouldnt be too difficult as Mr Cearns runs the Greyhounds and The Speedway. We have a Council who are happy to allow 2 1/2 to 3 hours of Speedway per week, however they are not happy to have it run past 20-30hrs mid week, they are also content to have Speedway run on Bank Holiday Monday afternoons. The solution is staring everyone in the face, but does not seem to have been debated, Saturday Morning racing or Sunday Daytime racing either it seems to me would be allowable by the Council, there is NO difference between that and Bank Holidays, and i think the planning Committee would probably be more in favour of that than the current weekday meetings, and i think they would find it almost impossible to object to weekend Speedway, and at the same time allow Bank Holiday Speedway. So Mr Cearns, Len Silver, Weekend racing at Kent is the way to go, and if it clashes with Rye House, then thats tough...
  5. Yours may be aweful, but i would still take them over Plymouths, ever since The Devils have been PL, i dont think they have had a decent reserve, must be something in the water down in Devon.
  6. Im afraid its blind optimism.. Though most other Sports seem to find sponsors of Major Trophies, this again shows the lack of leadership by the BSPA, in that they have never come up with a Sponsor for the 2nd most important Competition in British Speedway. Maybe next season we could have The Bet365 KO Cup.. with a prize fund of maybe 5k to begin with thou 10k would be more realistic, 1 grand each to the riders, the rest to the Club. Whoops i just woke up..
  7. You know 1984, sometimes you do spout some arrogant stuff, its NO wonder some supporters cant abide some Heathens Fans. without looking at the Table Kent wont beat any of the Top three because I believe they came 3rd.. There is one stand out team in the NL outside of that its much of a muchness, Kent have as much chance as anyone. Well done to the Teams who qualified for the Play Offs, and i look forward to receiving and visiting whoever we choose.
  8. Yes agree with all thats been said with regards one or two Hotheads in the Cradley support, we have NO god given right to success, and i remember the times when if Cradley finished out of the Bottom 3 it was regarded as a good season. If we do go PL and its time now, even without our own track, then if we go along the route of British riders, with maybe Aussie or Americans then i think the supporters will back them, but if we Track riders who are absent more often than not, then Im pretty sure the supporters will NOT put up with it, and will let the riders know in NO uncertain terms.
  9. So maybe The Devils could stage a home fixture against The Young Stars, as a 2nd Half at Somerset or Poole ? result to be decided at Ht 10. As They do...
  10. The Play Offs look like they will be decided over the next few days, The current situation is M 3W 2W D L 4W 3W D 1L L F A Pts 1 Cradley 16 8 0 0 0 5 2 0 1 0 931 502 51 2 Coventry 13 6 1 0 1 2 1 0 0 2 657 486 31 3 Kent 15 6 0 1 1 3 0 0 0 4 737 608 31 4 Mildenhall 14 5 0 0 2 2 2 0 0 3 699 569 29 5 King's Lynn 13 4 0 0 3 3 0 1 0 2 635 544 26 6 Stoke 14 4 0 0 3 2 1 0 0 4 656 623 23 7 Devon 11 1 0 0 2 1 0 0 0 7 415 559 7 8 Buxton 12 1 0 0 5 0 0 0 0 6 412 693 3 9 Scunthorpe 14 0 0 0 7 0 0 0 0 7 347 905 0 Mildenhall are at Home to Young Stars today, and Kent are away to Young Stars on Wednesday, Coventry qualify no matter what happens. However the problem is Devon, they have ridden only 3 home fixtures and will not ride any more until after the cut off date, The NL co-ordinator is sitting on the fence and hoping this can be decided on track.. No Chance, Mildenhall will win today, and Young Stars will win on Wednesday. The Co-ordinator will either have to upset Kent or Kings Lynn, either All home fixtures by Devon are expunged or they are allowed, personally there is NO option it has to be all home are expunged, because Kings Lynn have not had the opportunity to ride there, yeah tough on Kent who won at Devon, but its highly likely Young Stars would have won there also, altogether an unsatisfactory conclusion to the NL season.
  11. I doubt The Young stars fans will want to see one either, having seen the scoreline.
  12. Simply dont sign these riders from Europe, if we are only 3rd choice for them then dont use them. There must be enough riders to go around without putting the begging bowls out to riders who use and basically abuse the system, 6 Man Teams to begin. I havent counted but probably 2 x 14 Team Leagues and Play Offs at the end between the 2 Leagues. Also it needs Teams running a better balance of fixtures None of this riding 1/3 of the fixtures by end of July then 2/3rds of fixtures within the last month, utter rubbish planning but we have put up with it year in, year out, make a stand if the fixtures are NOT balanced out over a season, then dont buy a season Ticket.
  13. Yep, very impressed with young Connor Coles, but there again i was 2 years ago when he came here for i think Rye House, last season his 1st full season in the NL he struggled a little, but that was probably down to being thrown in at the deep end as Kings No2, so in his first race he was up against his own No1, the opposition no1 so it was little wonder he struggled at times, he appears to have come on this season, let me give you a comparison, 2 years ago he came here as a guest i think for RH, and rode well and tidily but in all honestly was out of his depth against the Cradley Big guns Roynon, Morris, Perry, last night he soundly beat the self same Tom Perry on his own patch, well done Connor.
  14. This about sums up the promotion, Couldnt care, dont care. The biggest mystery in all of this is Malcolm Vasey, he has deservedly over the years has earned himself respect in the NL, however since he became involved with Stoke (last i heard he was also a director) slowly but surely he is losing this respect, he comes on the BSF from time to time defending the indefensible. I have been one of the persons who respected Malcolm for the work he has done in the past. For goodness sake Malcolm stand up and be counted or walk away, you have never been slow before in saying your piece why start now when you are at Stoke.
  15. The EL downgrading. BIG clubs do we really have any BIG clubs left ? and how do you measure big Clubs. By the riders they have, by the sponsors they have, by the League they are in, or by the crowds that they get ?. I can think of a few Big Clubs under certain measures, but not many meet all the above. So i doubt there would be To many so called Big Clubs left to ride against each other. Birmingham, Eastbourne, Swindon, Coventry probably Belle Vue all could be loosely described as Big Clubs but i think i am probably correct in saying NONE of them returned a profit in 2014 nor probably 2015. Take away the SKY monies and NO club would return a profit. So do we have any BIG clubs ? i suggest only in name. I can think of 2 Big Clubs that race NL and definately returned a profit in 2014, and thats without SKY money, so financially they could be described as Big Clubs bigger than most of the EL big Teams. I dont know much about the PL but i think we could describe Somerset as a Big Club due to the size of the crowds they get, Leicester (now EL) could be described as the same. So there you have it Pugwash says he believes BIG Teams wouldnt want to downgrade, Im saying we dont really have any Big Teams except in name or self importance, but we do have Top Teams in certain areas; Kent, Cradley, Somerset, Leicester, Poole, Wolves, Lakeside, Kings Lynn, and which ones of those are self sufficient without SKY ?.
  16. Yes I think it has to come, of course the dividing line is the sticking point Scunny and KL travelling to Plymouth i wouldnt fancy that at all, but if you put Kings lynn and Scunthorpe into the North, Then put Coventry, Leicester, Wolves AND Cradley into the South, that wouldnt be perfect but it wouldnt be far away. Who said anything about Top riders, we are talking about the survival of the Sport in the UK, we managed without TOP riders in the past, we can do so again, and this would also mean the end of the ridiculous double up and down rule. One rider ONE Team thats as it should be.
  17. Taken from the updates site Waco, and it was a riders mother doing the Texting, so they must be pretty spot on, Yes Kent really need to get there act together at Buxton tomorrow, but with Ben back and Lambo getting straight back on it tonight, you should be able to win tomorrow comfortably, especially with Buxtons best rider missing through injury.
  18. Stoke look to have it sewn up, but some mystifying RR choices by Kent, surely anyone could have taken RR rides ?.
  19. If the Promoters at Stoke Speedway dont want to promote The Speedway, SELL up to someone who DOES.
  20. Whats happened to Marc Owen i hope its not a reacurrance of his head injury.
  21. Orion, Im 5 miles from Poole, I saw the Leicester Team and thought NO way am i going to watch that. Is that self explanatory, meaning its not value for money nor entertainment, it does not rock my boat to go as a neutral to see less than half a Leicester Team perform against a Poole Team that has just walloped the League leaders away from home.
  22. Poole V Leicester 20/08/2014 Leicester turn up with 4 Guests and a No1 who is a late arrival, need i say more as to why the EL has had its day.
  23. Im thinking this will be a double win for The Young Stars, with the returning Tom Stokes down at reserve that gives them added strength down at the bottom end, Scott Campos seems to have upped his game recently and tonight will prove if its a temporary thing or at last has he found the fastest way round a speedway track, Marc Owen is slowly finding his pre injury form, for Mildenhall Josh Bates will be a big miss i doubt they can adequately cover his rides which swings the meeting in KL,s favour. Im sure The Stags will put up a brave fight but obviously only the scoreline remains in doubt, just a couple of points here Rob, I dont understand why the Stags persevere with Steve Jones, yeah he may be an older head, but really thats all he brings to the Team, his scores are not much better than a youngster would get maybe a couple of points difference, 2nd point i would have thought maybe you would have tried to get Luke Harris to ride, he is certainly worth a Team spot somewhere.
  24. I have always followed Kents fortunes, and great to see you up there in 2nd place, its still in your own hands to an extent, just to let you know KL have still got to ride against Cradley home and away, so that must put your hopes up, Stoke we have done the double, so cant help you there.
