  1. I am so pissed off to read this, with more notice of the mounting losses, something could have been done to avoid this, I await the details with interest. Cant help feeling for the IOW supporters.
  2. My only regret is The IOW seem to have missed a trick, but this is great news nonetheless.
  3. I would think if you could get Mikey Neale back it would be like for like, him and Matt. I did mention a few names Byron, Rob, and how about a phone call to James Birkenshaw, he wouldnt make a bad No1.
  4. No reason to gloat, if someone poached our riders, we wouldnt be happy.
  5. Which rider stayed behind after one meeting to give some advice, when Nathan was having a tough time, and doing some after meeting laps ? Yep Paul Starke.
  6. Yes we have a Stadium not a shop, now hows about we try being relevant to the Topic title.
  7. But if the other three shops are set up to support the continuance of the fourth shop, what then ? Im the sure the Clue is in the title of the company, Isle of Wight Speedway Ltd, its not called that for nowt, and why have loses spirraled in the last two years? all overseen by the Chairman. So in looking at your viewpoint BB, it could be said the 3 shops are NOT doing sufficient to support the fourth shop..LOL.
  8. Gotta be Starkey, Tom needs to concentrate on his racing, big,big year for Tom, could well define the rest of his Speedway career.
  9. Where do you get the feeling Nathan could be a problem ?, yes he suffered a loss of confidence around Monmore, but he did well away from home, this season there is no doubts the League as a whole is weaker, and there is the advantage Nathan is young, 2013 was his first season, he can gate which is a heck of an advantage, NO i dont have any worries about Nathan. You have Max who mostly does well at home, so everyone thinks how good he is, and Nathan who mostly does well away, which most fans dont see, so doesnt create such an impression, but they are both great young prospects. Ommer Um.
  10. Yes, confirmed on the Cradley web site, Matt Williamson is the final Cradley Heath rider, good luck to them all for 2014.
  11. Its seems a pity, there undoubted fighting spirit, seems no longer shared by the Chairman.
  12. You may well be right about that, LOL perhaps they sell the Sunday Mercury up in Yorkshire, I dont know where i thought Nahan lived in Brummie land, i think it was from a few years ago, when he first rode a few speedway tracks.
  13. Next rider announcement is on Sunday, rather an unusual day for such a thing, but it appears there is due to be an article in the local Sunday Mercury newspaper, with an iterview with the rider concerned. my betting is its Nathan Greaves he lives within the catchment area of the Sunday Mercury, role on Sunday, when another piece of the jigsaw is revealed.
  14. Thank you Bryn, at last there is some clarification of what Income streams there are outside of the Speedway, and The Speedway itself is part and parcel of Island Speedway (IOW) Ltd. Yes maybe the crowds are low on occasion, but The Company is in a position of having income other than just the Speedway income, which is what lots of Clubs dont have. This gives hope for the future of Speedway on the Island.
  15. Yes, he would do a good job for Buxton, and would mean he could stay Midlands based, if not fit at the moment, then perhaps later in the season we could see him back on Track. A possible Heat Leader trio of any three from four of Branford, Carr, McKinna, and Bekker wouldnt be to bad for Buxton.
  16. No Im not putting this up as an advert for him, but as there is a shortage of riders, is he fit to ride NL in 2014, he could if fit do a job for someone, and there has been NO mention of him anywhere.
  17. As i understand it prior to an AGM an audited balance sheet has to be submitted and approved, now unless things have changed this is generally how things used to be done, for instance how can you propose and vote in a Treasurer, unless the previous years financial accounts have been approved ?.
  18. Deanno, you say the shareholders money has kept the Speedway going until now, but you also say The Chairman has put 100k of his own money in over the Years, so its either The shareholders money thats run out, some time ago, and the Chairman has kept it afloat, or the Chairman put his 100k in some time ago, then the Shareholders money was used up in 2013, and he doesnt want to go back to putting more money in, could you clarify which it is. Is there other income streams for the Club, ie, Bar takings, Catering, hire of the Stadium etc, etc?. Im just trying too get my head round the situation as it is, without the airfence issue. Also this mysterious person who indicated he may wish to put some finance in, then rather hurriedly withdrew within a matter of days WHY? such a hasty withdrawal almost as soon as it was made. Lots of things here which seem more to it, than meets the eye, it ALL needs to brought into the open, before IOW Speedway is NO more. One of the first things that needs to be done, again outside of the airfence issue, is there needs to be another raising of Funds by issuing more shares in IOW Speedway, to get some money in the Kitty, and give it a working fund, ready for the re introduction of Speedway in 2015, without going cap in hand to the Chairman.
  19. Any more in the pipeline ? lol Well if he has signed for an NL Team, it seems pretty sure from the rumblings, who it is. I can understand why Jayne feels so hard done by.
  20. I Sorry to have to disagree, Wolves reserves in the EL and Cradleys reserves ithe NL, two completely different situations, whereas Wolves reserves would be expected to hit the ground up and running, But for me National League reserves are expected to show promise, be competetive, and improve as the season goes on, and most importantly, to do this without any pressure. If i recall last season it was stated by OUR management Team, that Nathan was under NO pressure to win, win, win, and he repayed that by scoring some very valueable points away from home. While we are on the subject i will say here and now, he will in the long run, prove to be a better rider than Max Clegg, Max had a slightly false average, due to the fact, he missed some away meetings, so therefore his average would have been lower had he ridden in them, bcz Max,s away form aint brilliant. If you have seen the Kent crowds Im 100% certain they can afford him. Stoneman, Neale, or Philips, any two from those three, and as for Williamson he has told Jayne he isnt doing NL in 2014, so either he is lying, and he is covering something up, and thats where these jungle drums that have been coming from fellow Heathens fans, who seem very, very positive Williamson has signed for Cradley.
  21. Yeah, Years ago, we had to have everybody elses cast offs, Cradleys next rider announcement is tomorrow morning, looking forward to it. will it be the 4+ rider that we all expect, or a new 3 pointer ?.
  22. Im pretty sure we ALL care who the last two are, For me Nathan is a cert, of the Teams left that can fit Nathan in, we should be his No1 choice, which still leaves the 2 reserves, and YES we do care who they are, They are very important positions in the Team, its not important that they start banging the points in immediately, just that they stay upright fight, for the cause, and start winning a few races come Play Off time.
  23. I doubt IOW will run pete, so that leaves Plymouth, who i think have mentioned a couple of riders, but seems they prefer to announce like Cradley. Buxton Im guessing will leave it late.
  24. I read on the Cradley Fb page, all riders to be announced by the end of January, whilst some may like this drip feeding of signed riders, I absolutely hate it. I guess i will have to study who has been signed and who is left, to try and work out who are the riders we have signed, but i still cant see past, Danny Philips, Nathan Stoneman, Michael Neale, and maybe Matt Williamson as an outside possibility.
  25. DU,I did say 3 pointers, Whats the point of taking another Clubs assett, improving them as riders up to lets say 6+ pointer, then lets say next season the parent club say thank you very much Cradley, but we want him back, Then we are back to square one only this time looking for a 6+ pointer who is unattached. No Im sorry it has to be asset riders at No 6/7 for me every time. The first and foremost comes in at positions 1 to 5.
