Hmmm, no-one would be happier than me if Dan scores 3-5 points, in my opinion if he could find a dam good sponsor it might be possible, he will do well to attain a 3 point average on his current equipment, i dont doubt his enthusiasm is he ready for PL racing? imo no, but thats only my opinion, its a bit of a gamble by the Newcastle promotion they and the supporters will need patience and i admire Dan for believing he is ready for the step up, he is now in his third season since he returned to the Sport and good luck to him however it goes.

Cradley V Mildenhall Nlkoc 13/5/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
To be honest Ommer Mon, whilst i would be reluctant to pay 10 quid to watch Scunny, even if they are on 2nd in this Double header i will cetainly stay to watch, cant you remember last season Kent Kings meeting, many supporters stayed away bcuz Kings were getting steam rollered every week, turned out to be one of the best meetings of the season, with lots of good races not only the ones Boxhall was in, i can remember Kingston leading Starkie for over 2 laps, Kirby led Ash, Compton was competitive, Mason was the big let down for Kent that night, okay maybe Scunny dont have a Boxhall but i will watch just to see who we may sign in the future . -

Kent Kings V Mildenhall Nl 5/5/14
greyhoundp replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
Maybe he has been told by the powers that be, there should be NO Official response from the Kent Kings on the BSF website, and without getting into the politics of the whys and wherefors, again its Kents loss, and smacks of censorship, sometimes we know the truth hurts, however sometimes it can be useful when problems need to be sorted out, and its pretty apparent there were problems last Monday. -
Cradley V Mildenhall Nlkoc 13/5/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Im not sure why Cradley always seem to go with the first leg in these 2 leg affairs, personally i would like to get a team back on our patch, to make up any deficit. I have never seen Brendan ride any good at Monmore, but i guess theres always a first time, however having Jack at reserve really could swing it for you, especially if he is on Top form and takes 6/7 rides, It will be interesting who you choose to go with at No1, not knowing the averages, any of the Coventry Heat leaders, Lewis Rose, maybe Lambert or Morley, I would think any of them would do a job for you. It should be an interesting meeting, whilst i doubt Mildenhall will win, you should be able to keep the result to manageable proportions, and its probably in the away tie where we will miss TP most. -
Wake Up Plymouth
greyhoundp replied to DexterBeauregarde's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I advocated that Plymouth sign Royno last season but it never happened, however better late than never not only have you got a good rider, but you have added a great personality to the team, great with supporters and sponsors alike, just dont expect him to come in and score double points reguarly to begin with, give him time and you have yourself an entertainer, and a potential match winner if anyone deserves some luck Adam and Plymouth do, and success for both could go hand in hand.. but i repeat give him a little time to get his confidence back. I really wish i lived a little nearer than what i do, but i will definately be down to watch at some stage this season, originally i was going to come and watch a NL meeting, but now i will have to watch a Devils meeting also, good luck for the rest of the season. -

Thanks for clearing that up, when i looked at The Cradley Fb page last night, it said Neale for Perry. -
Cradley V Mildenhall Nlkoc 13/5/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Michael Neale will deputise for Tom Perry , Cradley were going to use rr but apparently only an unattached 3 pointer is allowed, Im unsure what the situation is regarding Matt Williamson, but if he is also missing I would guess again its another unattached 3 pointer, If both are missing, I would put the strongest Unattached 3 pointer at reserve, and to be honest I was one who was calling for us to sign Michael Neale in the close season. -
Well I know Buxton have a new Press Officer, Im waiting to see if he includes the BSF in his press releases,
-
Good luck to adam in this, gonna be tough for him, but he can do it, Im also interested to see how Kai Huckenbeck goes in this event, Im surprised 1 or 2 Pl Teams havent tried to tempt him to come over here.

Coventry Storm V Kent Kings - Friday 2nd May
greyhoundp replied to NeilWatson's topic in National League Speedway
I for one never thought Kent were ever likely to take a point, providing The Storm riders rode to form, reasons being, Coventry are a strong team, Kent track is vastly different to Brandon, and Brandon Freemantle needed to be on top form for The Kings to even ###### a point (and at the moment he isnt). However Kent should make the Play Offs, but it will be tight come seasons end, with a number of teams battling it out for the 3rd & 4th place positions, namely Kent, Mildenhall, Young Stars and Stoke. There are 2 Teams for me that are ahead of the others at the moment, namely Storm & Cradley. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
greyhoundp replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
I think they are slightly down, I would hazard a guess at no more than 1 hundred or so, however as the opponents standard improves and more meaningful meetings come along, they will return, its probably the supporters who have always picked and chosen, i myself am one of the missing purely and simply bcuz i live and work Bournemouth area, so a 7/8 hour round trip is out of the question on a tuesday evening, to be honest after watching the Buxton No contest, i can understand people staying away, and i mean that without disrespecting the efforts of the Buxton riders. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
greyhoundp replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
Yes Ommer mon has hid opinion and i respect it, but may i ask the following questions. What is being done to find us a Track, and by who ?, are we relying on a Council to say here you are Heathens here is a piece of land (it will never happen). At best we should be looking to long term lease some land, buying is simply to expensive, and never will see a return on the investment. We should Target every Sports club in the area Football, Rugby,Cricket whatever Sport and see if they have excess suitable land that could be used, or as Gornal Fc a Club thats looking to sell up and relocate, the Speedway could bring them some lucrative long term finance, then when that option has been exausted we can say we have looked without success what do YOU as supporters want ?. I have Pmd you montie. -
Lewis Bridger (depression)
greyhoundp replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
All the best to Lewis, Iv been there and got the T Shirt, its no fun and what works for one person doesnt do the same for another, what i would suggest is that to continue riding wouldnt be the best medicine to take, but whatever way he finds is best for him, good luck. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
greyhoundp replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
I think that they know they would be supported, maybe its down to the fact that there outgoings rider wise would be substantially more, so therefore the profitability would be massively less, its a catch 22 situation for them, stick or twist but whilst things are as they are supporters coming through the gates albeit looking down a little, they will stick. In my opinion it will take a massive show of supporter led persuasion to see things change and for us to go PL, not bcuz supporters dont want it, but because at least one of the promotion has said it is probably unviable. My own opinion is that the time has come for us to test the water, though when you look at the recent Plymouth announcement this will only add fuel to us staying in the NL. Its not only a case of being a big fish in a small pond, or a tiddler in the ocean, its that viability which is the all important factor, which the promotion know only to well, remember Swindon last year ?. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
greyhoundp replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
Yep i agree he could have used Clegg or/and Williamson, but Im never sure who can or who cant be used in Ht 15. I think in all 5 riders got maximums or paid max,s the other being Perry. -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
greyhoundp replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
My first NL meeting this year due to logistics, it was actually worse than i expected, the first heat was competitive, there were maybe 2 others of interest ie Buxton did better than 3rd place, that was it. Even in the reserves races there were big gaps between riders, yes maybe its competitive in the broadest sense of the word, but its not exciting, a little word of advice for Ryan when he next comes to Monmore, ride the inside line, just as if its Buxton on a difficult day, he will find that its much easier, and better to let the guys behind do the risky stuff to get past. -
Adam Roynon Dropped By Sheffield
greyhoundp replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I beg to differ on your opinion, Adam was never a problem when he rode for Cradley, always good with the fans, and a credit to the Sport, he maybe has had one injury to many, but still NO reason for him to get dropped at the present time, hopefully he will steer clear of injuries through 2014, and regain his best form, Sheffields loss could be someone elses gain, keep your chin up Adam, and good luck.. -
Coventry V Cradley Heath (national League) 21/4/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Yes we have some moronic supporters, and there is a dividing line between passionate supporters and moronic like behaviour and i too make no excuse for them, yes there was ill feeling bcuz of the recent abandoned meeting, but theres no excusing OTT behavior. It would do one or two of the Cradley fans good for us to have a poor season, then maybe one or two of these glory hunters (hangers on) or whatever they want to call themselves (supporter is to kind)may drift away, and find other things to vent there feelings on. Yes Cradley/Dudley has had tough times, same as everywhere else, but the people are the salt of the earth, Im not claiming its as nice as the Lake District, or The Fens, or The Cotswolds, or The New Forrest, but we cant all be born with a silver spoon in our mouth, but what we do have (once again) is a speedway Team, and as many of you know we do our best to support them, for some of us, its all we have, coming from a rather depressed area of the country, i will support our riders in whatever way i can, but i cannot support bad behavior at Stadia, in whatever guise its shows itself . As Ommer mon said, the passion and fervour at Dudley/Wolves trophy meetings was something to behold, and probably not understood by neutral supporters, but no favour was asked, and none given in those local derbies. -
Coventry V Cradley Heath (national League) 21/4/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Adam, if Mick is stupid enough to do that, after a last heat defeat, a little bit of aggro on track, and the last abandoned Storm meeting against Cradley, then he is asking for a reaction, and Im betting he certainly got one.. Oh where was Mick when the last meeting got abandoned, did he face the fans then ?. anyways well done Storm, but we will take the away point.. -
Thanks HT..

Coventry V Cradley Heath (national League) 21/4/14
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
From what i can gather Shadders, they seem to think RTD fenced Max not once, but twice, but prior to that, it also said on updates Storm fans were booing Max, some of it may have been a return gesture.. sounded lively whatever went on..lol -
Urgent Postponement Stoke V Buxton 13/04/14
greyhoundp replied to Swift Saint's topic in National League Speedway
I think the remedial work Stoke are hoping for is more sunshine, it wont cost them anything. I have respect for MV but for Stoke Speedway to publically say they are trying to get the Track fit for Speedway, then to allow Stocks on said Track, really is treating Speedway supporters as if they are fools, it really wont wash. Do Stoke want Speedway ? then we have the Plymouth situation thats another big cock up down there, in this day and age people just wont put up with it..
