  1. Hmm,looking at the various Teams, there is not one who stands out; Buxton, Far to early to say as not many riders declared yet. Kings Lynn, Could be the Dark horses this season, Mallet, Young and Kerr, 3 decent Heat Leaders, and in Hazeldon if he recaptures his early season 2011 form they have another Heat leader. Coventry; They have 2 very good youngsters to lead them in Sargeant and Jacobs, Greenwood will be a good 3rd heat Leader, its Coventrys tail which may let them down. Kent; Impossible to tell but probably have the basis of last seasons RH Team, and if they have Robert Lambert, at reserve then they to will be up there. Stoke; Some very shrewd signings made by The Potters; Smart, Hughes, and Reade are as good a Heat Leader trio as any in the NL, surprised they didnt resign young Carr. Mildenhall; Being led by Stefan Nielsen as good as anyone in the NL, great to see armo back, but he isnt the rider he once was, they are pinning there hopes on Bates and Stoneman i believe. Dudley: Led by Morris and Blackbird, i think the 3rd Heat leader spot may be the weakness for Dudley, and if young Greaves doesnt settle in pretty quick, we may struggle, best signing for me is young Max Clegg. IOW; The management on the Island have really made people sit up and take notice with there signings this year; Perry, Bekker and Ritchings all ex Dudley, and in Ellis? well his late season scores were an eye opener. Really its difficult to pick out four definate play off teams; but here goes; IOW, Stoke, Kings Lynn, and Dudley, but Kent with Lambert, Mildenhall and Coventry could all easily be up there, it only needs 1 Team to have a progressive rider, and another to lose one, and the predictions go out of the window, all in all a very interesting season lies ahead, may the BEST Team win, who at this moment in time, i think are The IOW.
  2. yes, I have to agree with you there BB, probably made because possibly a bit more improvement average wise in Ash than in Tom, but i think probably Tom is the more consistant of the 2 riders, and definately the better rider, with regards The final signing I wish him all the best, but i would have preferred a younger rider.
  3. On The Heathens Facebook it is to be announced on Wednesday at 12 noon.
  4. Lets have a bit of fun, while we wait, who might this Final rider be ?. I dont think it will be one of the current unsigned under 5.34 average riders from 2012, but my personal choice from them would be a fully fit Marc Owen, which leaves us with someone who rode prior to 2012, and having scanned the 2010/11 seasons averages i cant see any likely prospects, which leaves us with an assesed 5 point rider, thats what i am going for, who is it ?, I have absolutely NO idea.
  5. Apparently the final piece in the Jigsaw will be revealed next wednesday, i look forward to the announcement.
  6. If Buxton could tempt maybe Chris Schram and Joe<James> Cocker<Cockle> to ride, they would have the makings of a half decent Team.
  7. This last signing is as important as the first, but there doesnt seem to be any great rush to announce it, 5.34 left, not many riders with that sort of average, unless its an assesed rider.
  8. I am very sad to read this, i am sure this could have been handled much better than it appears to have been, the consortium seems to have taken the easy way out, but to have been told in this way, really isnt good enough. Good luck Godfrey when one door closes another often opens, and keep looking down in Cornwall, or even take a look Exeter way, is the Racecourse project dead and buried ? because it doesnt have to be such a grandoise plan as what Mr trump envisaged, Track, changing rooms, Toilet facilities, and good viewing is all that is necesary surely, changing rooms, toilets are probably already there, though one would have to walk somewhat. As I understood it that so long as the area could be returned to how it presently is <cant think of another word> on cessation of Speedway, that was the major stumbling block from the jockey Club. how difficult is it to remove a safety fence, and dig up a track to be replaced by turf ?. Much easier than taking down a Grandstand. The officials at D & E racecourse really are nice people, and it might well be worth a phone call to them.
  9. For somone to say this about a boy who is what 15? well i cant imagine how he will feel if he reads this, now if he was 20+ then i could understand it, but i think you are being a tad harsh there True Bee.
  10. Thanks Gary, you obviously see both of them reguarly, and know what it takes over here, and looking at what you have written, i think they would be wise listening to your advice, of course they are young and probably impatient to be getting on with there careers, but the choice is do they wait too long and stagnate, or attempt the big step forward, and ireversably damage there career, I can think of lots of riders over the years who have done one or the other. One needs to look at Kenny Ingalls, Ricky Wells and compare where is Gino in comparison? it will undoutably take him a season to settle in, but whatever Plymouth and Gino decide good luck to them.
  11. Austin finishing 3rd is the bare fact, what the research didnt say, was in the Final race Austin beat Manzares, also Austin fell whilst leading in 1 race, and it was total points scored overall who was the winner, however i will admit gino does seem to have improved, but he needs to, to be PL standard.
  12. I misread your post Waco, i was thinking Simon Lambert, i didnt realise it was Robert, but yes Boxhall, Morley, Lambert, Cockle, Coles, Owen, plus A.N Other would be pushing for the League, and hard to beat, I think the NL will be a very Open league this year; IOW will be up there, Mildy will be there or thereabouts, Coventry aint no mugs, Stoke could be anything, The Heathens much will depend on who the final rider is, 3rd Heat leader will be the problem methinks, and our No1 was only 3rd HL last year. Good luck Kent great to see Sittingbourne with a Track at last.
  13. 4 of those look okay Waco, but Mason ? i wouldnt have thought so, young Marc Owen would be the better choice, Cockle is a steady 7 and halfer, Geary or the other 3 pointer who rode with him at Stoke at the back end of 2012, you wouldnt be far away then.
  14. Yes, there is a lot of positivity, down in Plymouth, but with that comes raised expectations, definately you are stronger than Sheffield, but can we compare you with your nearest rivals, up in Somerset? no i dont think so, lower mid table would be the best i could see, and a lot will depend on Hot Toddy down at reserve. Get Seemond & co to look at putting an NL team out in 2013, we could certainly do with some more competition from down there, and riding under The Falcons banner would go down well with the shareholders.
  15. This time you added a wink, anyways Merry Xmas RB, dont get Pinching all the best prospects, You already have 1 in JG.
  16. In my opinion, Ben Reade aint ready for PL yet, you missed out on JJ who was the next rider ready to move up to PL, Manzares hmmm not so sure, there are better Americans out there than he is, Austin Novatril is one who springs to mind. However the Top 5 aint looking to bad to be honest, but the remaining 2 need to be half decent, otherwise they will still struggle.
  17. Lets hope the management see it that way also.
  18. I mentioned Marc Owen bcuz IOW have named there full squad, I cant see many who fit between 4.54 & 5.34 only Mildenhall riders, who i think wouldnt sign anyway, Marc Owen is young has an average of 5.33 well thats the last average i can see, is he fit?, if he is, he is a steal on that average, as i said earlier i cant see many other Rabbits.
  19. A warm welcome to Paul Starke, despite numerous denials over the past few weeks, Paul has the potential to progress to heat leader status, and get his career back on track, best of luck mate. Cant for the life of me see who our final rider might be, if Max is at reserve as Nigel P has said, then our final rider must be between 4.54 and 5.34, not many around on that average left unsigned, and Im not aware of any assesed 5 pointers being available, so its Rabbits out of the Hat time now, Hmmmm Marc Owen average 5.33 now it wouldnt be or would it ?. good signing though if fit.
  20. Winning or losing early season, means nowt, its how they are going at the back end, coming into form in September is what counts, and steering clear of injuries.
  21. Hmmm, Liam Carr i would have thought, but not so sure now.
  22. With only 3 and a bit, Im thinking you are right. Joe Jacobs anyone ?.
  23. Take no notice greg, Im sure no offence was intended, keep up the posting mate.
  24. Good luck to the IOW Heathens for 2013, you have assembled a good team for 2013, put Byron in as your Captain, great with the supporters also, Tom Pom No1, lovely to see him miss the gate, cuz when he does, dont turn away for 1 moment, Daryll when he has his bikes right he can live with the best, added to Ben, Danny boy, Adam and Brendon, if you stay injury free, cant see any anyone beating you on The Island, and the management there have to be applauded for putting this Team together. Look forward to seeing you guys up here in the Midlands, what about an early season Challenge, with you guys ?.
  25. If you are going to consider Stefan, then you have to throw in Joe Jacobs, made massive strides last season for Mildenhall, and for me he has to be the next to break through to the PL from the NL, check out his scores in the end of season meetings.
