  1. How is that relevant? When NP was World Champ he lived in the UK but still rode in Denmark.
  2. That may well be true but having seen many of the Swedish meetings this year, they have by and large been awful as well - cannot be the same shale. Maybe it's always been that way but we're just expecting too much these days. When I ask for a burger people seem horrified if I don't add cheese, relish, tomato, gherkin etc. - I do stretch to onions Years ago life seemed simpler.
  3. Ha, I don't know because it was rained off and moved when I went there a few years ago, so just had a nice weekend there. At least they could develop the track before then as it doesn't hold regular meetings?
  4. They don't have leagues. It is a highly relevant question and is about supporting British Speedway - Nicki P has always ridden in the Danish league (I think but don't know for certain, hence the question) but the tracks there are no better than the UK and the level of racing quite low. If, as you mention, the true answer is simply money, then why does Jason Doyle continue to ride here and would Tai then really he be the right person to help develop the sport in this country if the role came without seeing a large wedge in his own pocket?
  5. When in the past has the World Champion snubbed riding in their own domestic league? Genuine question.
  6. I think it's more the bikes than the tracks. Short stroke engines are much more reactive in an instant and the straight line speed makes it really difficult when behind to make passes.
  7. But what does that actually mean and how would that benefit British speedway? We have a British World Champ again but how is that used to help promote the sport here if he won't even ride here! I'd fancy that at many British tracks, our boys would stand up well against the other nations. When people say world class do they actually mean ride well in Poland?
  8. It's been debated a number of times and issues I know of go back to the days of Michael Lee & then Simon Wigg. Yes Tai has his views, as do we all and he has been very successful on the international stage. I'd suggest he could pass on a lot of this knowledge by riding in his own domestic league, influencing riders and inspiring directly rather than slag it off as not being world class. Riders from other countries nearly always ride in their own leagues and contest National Championships (Australia excepted). Plenty of riders may want to ride in other leagues across Europe but they need to stand out here first before they'll be considered. I did like his suggestion of using Wolverhampton as a venue (would suit him of course) but the point is well made about different types of track. I'd also agree that skipping and eating Goji berries is not going to make you a World Champ but what the likes of Nicholls and Harris also do by riding in the UK, helping to develop British riders, should not be easily dismissed/overlooked. The only mistake Rosco made was in his selection - the addition of a spare rider would have been vetoed due to cost I'd have thought and not one for him to be criticised for - he seemed to miss the point of the question when interviewed, it wasn't about having Bewley rather than Harris it was about having an additional rider in Russia in the event of an injury.
  9. Quite right. He is doing his best. Unfortunately Rosco should have picked Charles Wright. In good form and worth a punt, can make a start sometimes as well better than Bewley this season I think.
  10. Shouldn't be allowed a guest - if Doyle can go Friday then so could Harris.
  11. Agree with most of that, it was a shame the track was so grippy on the inside. Re: Nicholls, he wasn't already on a warning, so ref treated it consistently with anyone else moving at the start.
  12. Ha, Dougie had a bad one, just as well King was awful.
  13. It's not a bumpy, some might say dangerous track, just boring with only one line
  14. Chapman has changed the surface according to Bjerre, he's ruined it from a racing perspective. Won't be going there this season.
  15. Wolves' new team are a different prospect. Tidy home win for me.
  16. Selects them himself I think. I have a couple from a local shop to me.
  17. As expected Douglas is rescuing the Wolves season. With Ash Morris they may have lost.
  18. I think he's put two other bikes together, so should be on his normal gear for Ipswich.
  19. I'm a little disappointed that Rosco didn't have a punt with Charles Wright for this, rather than his old mate Harris. He's been in good form lately. Earlier this year I bet on the Aussies so will be secretly hoping they can do something
  20. Should be a relatively easy win for the Wolves, with Douglas hopefully bringing his A game.
  21. Or maybe one where you need a bit more skill.
  22. Worrall was much better in 2017 before he broke his leg and missed a lot of 2018. Has achieved at a lower level since.
