A few Thursday photos from the track, on this day ahead of practise. http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=news&stage=1&id=1944 -
Sometimes I wonder if it would be better if the track closed down so people wouldn't be able to have a crack at it e-v-e-r-y G-o-d d-a-m-n t-i-m-e. Don't know why I care, because as a Vetlanda fan, I like it in Vetlanda, and that should be what matters. We won't put a gun to anyone's head for people to come here, or even watch meetings on TV/streams from here. To those of you who may think of watching it, please note that you've already been hold it's a awful track, and if you still watch it and it's bad, the rights to whine about the poor quality of racing is voided. You've already been told it's going to be bad, so why watch it? I'll do live updates from the meeting (I'll provide a link later), so I may provide a more colourful description to the races than a TV broadcasting might be able to do. A few Thursday photos from the track, this day ahead of practise. http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=news&stage=1&id=1944 (Better leave the computer now before I type anything I regret)

Where's the "like" button on this forum? Hey Alan, as I'm not watching tonight (just sticking with text live updates), can you tell us all if you seen the Swedish sunset yet?
-
Even though it's laughable in general, I can't say I'm surprised in this case, with the on-going Polish Play Offs. For the strength of the Elit Vetlanda team, I'm not sure we will suffer that much. His away form has been poor most of the season, especially in comparison to his average, and as we're now able to strengthen the reserve position (on paper, at least), we won't lose too many points. I'm not as furious as one might think.
-
Two changes to Elit Vetlanda's line-up, according to today's edition of Vetlanda-Posten, as above.
-
It is a potential semifinal pairing, I give you that, even though we (Elit Vetlanda) are far from a certain team among the top four. It might look secure now, but with this away fixture coming up, and not riding at all next week, we may slip down the standing ahead of the two final rounds of the regular season. If, a that's a big if, we make the Play Offs, the outcome of tomorrow's meeting may well decide if Indianerna chose Elit Vetlanda in the semifinal. A comfortable home win may cause the Indians to chose Elit Vetlanda, but if we get a good result tomorrow (and with last season's two smashing away victories at Kumla in mind), I'm not sure Indianerna makes that choice. Anyway, they are the side to beat this year, and they know it. Or at least, they should. I haven't heard anything for certain, but I also have a hard time to believe that he will stand for it. He looked in peace and harmony when he was at the track earlier tonight, so I guess the final word hasn't been said, or printed, yet. I'm not particulary worried, but that may just be the fact that a win at Kumla would be a bonus in any circumstances. With or without Kolodziej. We'll see.
-
Might just as well admit that it was me who was a bit too quick, and wrong, when typing it on Elit Vetlanda's website. I definitely know Matej is Slovenian, so it was just a typing error.

Not quite as comprehensive as usual, but I have problems to find the time at the moment. August is one heck of a month this season... ELITSERIEN ROUND 14 Tuesday August 9th 2011 ELIT VETLANDA - VARGARNA at Vetlanda Motorstadion Despite winning three straight meeting, Elit Vetlanda change the line-up to include Janusz Kolodziej and Pawel Hlib instead of Martin Vaculik and Patrick Hougaard. However, they'll have to do it without Artem Laguta, still injured. Dackarna also have a Grand Prix rider on the injury list, namely Fredrik Lindgren. They also miss Jurica Pavlic but will use the R/R facility to cover the injured Croatian. Valsarna (home) (47) 1. Grigory Laguta 2. Krzysztof Buczkowski 3. Tomasz Gapinski 4. Dave Watt 5. I actually changed meeting when the Griparna vs Ikaros Smederna meeting went to interval. I've seen heats 11-14 from Malmö (FNC-Gnistorna vs Gnistorna), and it has been great speedway, better than Nyköping (before interval). It will be a cracking finish to it as well, with FNC-Gnistorna leading 43-41 with the nominated heat to go. However, Rospiggarna have the unbeaten Andreas Jonsson in it, so FNC-Gnistorna should just try to block whoever Jonsson rides with, for a tied heat and a two point win. Heat 15, coming up! -

Great news from Malmö, I see. FNC-Gnistorna have free entrance today (instead, companies pays 1 SEK for each person in attendence), and 2137 persons have made their way to the stadium, which is a new attendence record for league speedway in Malmö. At least that's the news on the live updates site. BTW, records both on and off the track in Malmö as David Ruud smashed the track record by 1,4 (!) seconds, to 62,1. -

Good evening all! Has been a bit hectic at work this week as I haven't been on the BSF for quite some days, and I guess the remainder of this month will be the same, but I'll join you tonight. Griparna vs Ikaros Smederna obviously the most interesting tonight, and since I haven't seen a meeting from Nyköping in a while, it suits me just fine. -
