100% correct. (I actually share TM duties in Nässjö with Benny Woentin) The fact that he's only 17 years old this year, that's worth mentioning. He could have ridden 80cc last year as well, but choose to go 500cc already in 2010. He rode a lot in 2010, actually in 11 meetings with Elitserien team Valsarna. He may not get the opportunity to ride as much this season as Valsarna added fellow junior Ludvig Lindgren in the off season, but Victor is a junior to keep track of, for sure. I have been told that all 9 Elitserien teams will be featured at least once in the 5 opening TV meetings of the season. Can't remember the other 4 meetings, but I have a list at work so could possibly post those on Tuesday.

Haven´t heard much. Only thing I know is that the first round is held in Eskilstuna on Monday. Don't even know how many teams that are competing... I'll try to find out.

Instead of who? Can't seem to find any info about it...

From what I read in Vetlanda-Posten earlier this week regarding Elit Vetlanda's situation, Jaroslaw Hampel and Damian Balinski had been granted starting permission for Elitserien from PZM. No problems were expected for Janusz Kolodziej either, so AFAIK things are at least going forward, albeit a bit slow. Nothing confirmed, but the medical staff on the track suspected a shoulder/collarbone injury, but hospital examination should tell a more definite answer.

As usual, the Vetlanda 4 Team Tournament (Vetlanda Lagcup) is the start of the Swedish season. 12 teams have been divided into three qualifying meetings on Friday, with C-, B- and A-finals being held on Saturday. Among the riders, Swedish GP riders Antonio Lindbäck and Fredrik Lindgren are the most shining stars, but other mentionables includes David Ruud, Peter Ljung, Jonas Davidsson, Patrick Hougaard, Ricky Kling, talented Pole Bartosz Zmarzlik and former Polish champion Adam Skornicki, just to mention a few. Elit Vetlanda's website will have live coverage of all three qualifiers on Friday, and definitely the B-final on Saturday. Work is going on behind the scene to fix live updates from the A-final as well. (It's 100% sure it won't be live updates from the C-final though) 11/04/15 12:00, Qualifier 1 11/04/15 15:30, Qualifier 2 11/04/15 19:00, Qualifier 3 11/04/16 09:00, C-final 11/04/16 12:00, B-final 11/04/16 15:00, A-final Live update links will be posted as soon as they're available on: http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=highlight&stage=1&id=268 Enjoy!

Ah, Ghostwalker, you shouldn't have jinxed it! Snowfall during the night, with 20 cm of new snow this morning in Vetlanda.

AFAIK, there's no limit on the number of guest/loan riders you can use in a Division 1 line-up, as the ruling will be the same as in 2010. If Tigrarna wants to use 3 riders registred in their squad, and 4 guest/loan riders, that's OK. Nässjö will - unfortunately - only have four riders registred in their own squad, with co-team manager Benny Woentin being one of them as an emergency option, but will count on guest riders to fill the line-up on a regular basis. The three Elit Vetlanda juniors (Henric Lindqvist, Michael Sjökvist and Jacob Thorssell), are among the 6 riders that have been signed up as "frequently occuring guest/loan riders", as I would like to call it. The four permanent riders of the Nässjö squad are: Mikael Axelsson Johannes Fredh, new from Gnistorna Lennart Persson Benny Woentin

Not surprising. He fits like a glove in some alternative line-ups if my calculations are correct.

Another guest signing announced as Tim Gudmundsson signs with Västervik. http://www.vt.se/sport/artikel.aspx?articleid=5687290

Some additional information: Griparna's final squad also includes Mikkel Michelsen, Miroslaw Jablonski and Sebastian Carlsson according to www.griparna.nu, which leaves them with one guest place left to fill. John Lindman has also signed, as a 0,500 rider. Gnistorna have included Anton Göthberg and Mattias Nilsson in their 9 rider squad. Six 0,500 riders have also signed, all according to their website. Örnarna's website have Henrik Gustafsson and Per-Ola Klasson listed, both have averages over 0,500 in Allsvenskan. On the other side, Robin Bergqvist - strangely - isn't listed among their riders. Tomas Olsson, Pontus Nilsson and Kim Åsling are listed, all should have 0,500 averages.

Magnus Karlsson takes the third and final place as a guest rider in Vargarna. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/nyheter.php?subaction=showfull&id=1290862915&archive=&start_from=&ucat=0113&

Sure, there has been some questionmarks over Hammarby's participation in Elitserien. However, there are approved fixture lists for both 8 teams (without Hammarby) and 9 teams (with them), so I don't know what's the hold up. The only thing I can think of is the fact that the Play Off dates must be written in stone, which must be done in co-operation with BSPA as Sweden needs some Wednesdays towards the end of season. Anyway, it shouldn't be too long I imagine.

Simon Stead and Renat Gafurov joins Hammarby. www.bajenspeedway.se

Busy day yesterday, for sure. AFAIK, Liljekvist and Nyström are 0,500 riders. Also, if you would like to add further 0,500 riders to other squads, you can add the trio of Jacob Thorssell, Henric Lindqvist and Michael Sjöqvist to Elit Vetlanda. Thorssell and Lindqvist signed contract for three years (2011-13) with an option for the 2014 season, that was announced before the Elitserien Play Off started. Sjöqvist has been signed on a loan deal from parent club Filbyterna, which was announced yesterday.

Griparna have signed Daniel Davidsson for another year, while Dackarna's Joel Larsson joins them as a guest. http://www.sn.se/sport/1.875420

I would expect this to be held on Saturday the 20th, so AFAIK this date will be amended by FIM.

Well, he can be fantastic at times, but also be on the far end of the opposite side of the scale when he has a bad day, and his glory days may be over. However, I see him mostly as a back-up for Patrick Hougaard when he's unavailable/injured, and then he'll ride at reserve, so I guess he was the best rider available on that average. As was said in the news article, there weren't many options available as those with just a British base weren't an option for the management. I'm fairly happy anyway. The same to you, and make sure you support Your GUIF team to a win against Alingsås tomorrow, and the league lead! (GUIF is the handball team from Eskilstuna, currently 2nd in Elitserien)

Matej Ferjan completes the Elit Vetlanda squad for 2011, as he enters on a 0,773 average. Matej has 10 years experience from the Swedish Elitserien, six seasons with Västervik (2000-05) and four with Indianerna (2006-09), but didn't ride in Sweden in 2010. http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=highlight&stage=1&id=265
-
Guest riders for Elit Vetlanda will be Peter Karlsson, Robin Törnqvist and Christian Agö, according to Elit Vetlanda's website. That leaves Elit Vetlanda with 1 squad place to fill for the 2011 season.
-
Elit Vetlanda has announced two signings for the upcoming season. Martin Vaculik has re-signed with the champions, while Damian Balinski joins the team after eight seasons with Motala team Piraterna. Both riders have signed a contract for 2011, with an option for 2012, according to Elit Vetlanda's website.
-
It sure seems like those riders will make the proposed line-up as Daniel Nelson says on their website: -"It's great to have the starting line-up finished, it's been a tough autumn". A Jonsson, H Andersen, F Lindgren, R Kling, R Holta, R Aspegren looks like a probable riding order, with Joel Larsson most likely being their seventh rider (the junior one) for next season. Dackarna have 2 squad riders and 3 guest riders left to sign according to the same news article on Dackarna's website.
-
...and he'll continue to ride for Vargarna in Elitserien as well, as a guest rider, according to Folkbladet.
-
Because they are idiots? I guess it would be easier to explain instead of a heat average multiplicated with 4, so in reality.....none. Exactly! Thank you! This doesn't do anything to make things better. It's just stupid! God, I'm furious!

Yes, both Hans and PK looks unlikely to remain at Dackarna. The only way they'll both fit in is to release Ludvig Lindgren and use Joel Larsson as the Swedish junior instead and sign a 0,724 (max) reserve alongside Joel, perhaps Ben Barker. Signing Hans and keeping the younger Lindgren would leave Dackarna with a 1,115 rider at second string, with Leon Madsen fitting, just looking at the average. Signing PK and releasing Hans would be the most surprising move, and leaving them way under the 10,500 maximum average, so that looks highly unlikely. Time will tell.
