  2. In the Vargarna vs Elit Vetlanda meeting, Thomas H Jonasson was replaced in his fourth, by Damian Balinski. Scheduled to ride in heat 14 is home team #1 (Adrian Miedzinski) and #5 (Kryzsztof Kasprzak) and away team #3 (Jaroslaw Hampel) and #5 (Jason Crump). All riders have four scheduled rides, with heat 15 being a nominated heat.

  4. Västervik is roughly 290 meters (I can't find the actual length where I am at the moment). It's a wide track, good for racing. Usually a bit of dirt, sandy material, which is hard to pass through when trying to overtake. Nevertheless, it's a fairly good racing track. Beer, wine and/or alcohol is AFAIK only available when buying a VIP ticket, at least it's that way in Vetlanda and Målilla, where I have personally been in the VIP areas. The rules regarding permits for alcohol is hard to get, so it's stipulated only to be available for "a closed group of people". I really don't know how to explain it specific terms...
  5. Ghostwalker has done an excellent job during the winter, and to the start of the actual racing season. I'll better start to pull my weight for Swedish speedway around here. BTW Ghostwalker, should we make up some kind of schedule for the Elitserien previews? I could do all rounds in which Elit Vetlanda don't ride at home, because those weeks are busy anyway. You're too kind! I see it's a meeting from Somerset. I have only been there once, but it was fantastic racing then, and I would love to go there more times, but it's quite a drive from most of the tracks close to Stansted airport. I know I should promote Swedish speedway, but even I have problems to recommend another track ahead of Somerset, I must say.
  6. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 5 Tuesday May 31st 2011 INDIANERNA - HAMMARBY at ICA-Maxi Arena, Kumla Ryan Sullivan is back in the Indians' line-up after missing two meetings, with Henrik Gustafsson being dropped from tonight's meeting. For Hammarby, it was meant that Renat Gafurov should've been in the line-up, but logistical problems made that impossible. Instead, Simon Stead makes his season debut. Indianerna (home) Antonio Lindbäck Joonas Kylmäkorpi Bjarne Pedersen Niels-Kristian Iversen Piotr Protasiewicz Ryan Sullivan Simon Gustafsson Hammarby (away) Magnus Zetterström Rory Schlein Robert Kosciecha Grzegorz Walasek Tomasz Gollob Simon Stead Alexander Edberg *-*-* DACKARNA - VALSARNA at G & B Arena, Målilla The Målilla team have opted for a couple of changes from the line-up that lost at Lejonen last week. Tomasz Chrzanowski and Artur Mroczka have been replaced with season debutant Robin Aspegren and Jurica Pavlic, with R/R for the latter, I presume. For Valsarna, Adrian Gomolski makes his season debut after signing from Elit Vetlanda in the off season, replacing fellow Pole Tomasz Gapinski. Dackarna (home) Andreas Jonsson Jurica Pavlic Fredrik Lindgren Ricky Kling Rune Holta Robin Aspegren Anders Mellgren Valsarna (away) Grigory Laguta Adrian Gomolski Scott Nicholls Dave Watt Daniel Nermark Ludvig Lindgren Krzysztof Buczkowski *-*-* VARGARNA - ELIT VETLANDA at ICA-Maxi Arena, Norrköping The Wolves are looking to be at full strength for the first time this season, with Tai Woffinden makes his first appearence for Vargarna. After only 8 points in 9 heats in the 2011 season so far, Lee Richardson drops to reserve! Elit Vetlanda have opted to keep the out-of-form Janusz Kolodziej out of tonight's line-up, as well as junior Jacob Thorssell. They're replaced by Martin Vaculik and Damian Balinski, the latter coming into the line-up instead of Patrick Hougaard, who was the management original choice, but who crashed in Poland on Sunday. The home side rides with the same seven riders for the fifth time this season, but Nicolai Klindt drops to reserve for the first time. Several changes for Lejonen though, as Chris Holder is back in the line-up after the use of R/R last week. Also, Darcy Ward is - for reasons I don't know - being replace by season debutant Troy Batchelor in the main body, while Leon Madsen replaces Sebastian Aldén at reserve. Västervik (home) Adam Shields Sebastian Ulamek Chris Harris Tomasz Jedrzejak Peter Ljung Nicolai Klindt Pontus Aspgren Lejonen (away) Piotr Swiderski Troy Batchelor Chris Holder Mikael Max Dennis Andersson Leon Madsen David Ruud *-*-* All meetings should be covered via live updates on www.svemo.se/speedway, and the Västervik vs Lejonen meeting is tonight's TV meeting. Enjoy!
  7. Can't admit that I follow Rospiggarna more than in general, but I'll give it a shot. With Andreas Jonsson as a guest rider to a 3,454 (heat) average, that takes up a lot of the 11,250 maximum average. If they also use three of the other four top riders (Simon Gustafsson, Kauko Nieminen, Kim Nilsson, Ludvig Lindgren) available, they simple are too top heavy for him to fit, even with his smallish 1,110 average. I'm sure I heard that AJ has agreed to ride all league meetings with Rospiggarna, which is a problem for Kalle. To increase his chance of riding, Rospiggarna may only use three of the five riders mentioned, and than he still has to compete with Timo Lahti and Andreas Messing for two places, as second strings, in the line-up. Also, Rospiggarna have many riders who rides in the British leagues, so availability is most definitely a factor for team manager Mikael Teurnberg. However, I don't know if that's the case with Kalle so far. Not much of a definite answer, but that's all I have. Speculation, that is. It might be easier if I list the riders available, so you can get an overview of it all. Their squad: Kauko Nieminen (2,219), Ludvig Lindgren (1,784), Kim Nilsson (1,738), Timo Lahti (1,297), Andreas Messing (1,196), Robin Burestad (1,130), Kalle Katajisto (1,110), David Hillborg (0,840), Robin Messing (0,783), Linus Lydin (0,500), Jari Mäkinen (0,500) Guests: Andreas Jonsson (3,454), Simon Gustafsson (2,000) Regulation for team building in Allsvenskan is a maximum of 11,250 for the 7 riders. Three must be Swedish, and at least one of them must be a junior.
  8. As of last year, there are virtually no limitations on team building in Division 1. No limits on maximum or minimum average limit, or the numbers of guests allows. All riders with a Swedish license can ride anywhere they like, in principle. One might say that Division 1 has turned into a kind of reserve team league, where line-ups can be put together at random will.
  9. The Rospiggarna vs Masarna stream works without problems, so well worth a look!
  10. AFAIK, it's people who have previously been in the Smederna club that have formed another club. However, I can definitely say that they ride at the Eskilstuna track, the same as Ikaros Smederna.
  11. Elit Vetlanda has signed Pawel Hlib as a replacement for Matej Ferjan, on a 0,663 average. Hlib has previously ridden for Kaparna (2005, 07), Västervik (2006) and Hammarby (2008-10) in the Swedish league structure. http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=news&stage=1&id=1856
  12. As I has previous said, I do expect more from Leszno but you gotta give credit to Zielona Gora for beating what's put infront of them. That's all you can do. It's only Hampel among the Leszno riders that looks able to give the top riders of the home side a fight on a regular basis.
  13. (I really like this smiley!) Good start by Davidsson who otherwise can be a bit "hit and miss" in Polish league action. Expects more from Leszno though...
  14. So, time for the other one of the night. Looks better on paper than the Rzeszow vs Tarnow meeting, but I would be amazed if this one could match the entertaining served in Rzeszow. Well, here's hoping!
  15. Yes, the key in that sentence is "well prepared". All tracks can produce good speedway, which often coincide with a well prepared surface. Guess I just have watch the wrong meetings from Rzeszow before. Anyway, this one was fantastic! Tarnow are facing a long season if their heat leaders don't manages a single heat win between them. As Wroclaw are heading for a win as well, Tarnow could be five points back at the bottom. That would be tough for them, for sure.
  16. Even if the final three heat don't produce a single pass, this is by far the best meeting I've seen this season. Just amazing, over and over again!
  17. Excellent by Kuciapa! I have seen meetings from Rzeszow before, but I can't remember them being remotely as exciting as this one.
  18. Sure, being three points behind Rzeszow going into this one, and being winless overall, they certainly need a win. Thank you! I haven't been busy posting so far this season, but Ghostwalker has done a great job with the Swedish section of this forum. I really need to shape up! Even though it's a British forum, may I just say: MARTIN VACULIK! (He rides for "my" team Elit Vetlanda) Great rides against "Bomber" and Crump!
  19. I'll echo that. Great one! BTW, I'm fairly certain that no-one will miss the start of the two minute allowance. That's quite a horn!
  20. Got a fax from Kumla with the scorers, so here it goes: INDIANERNA - DACKARNA 52-38 Attendence: 3457 Indianerna (home) 1. Ryan Sullivan ( 0 0 1 2* ) = 3+1 (4) 2. 21. Looks like that. Live updates from Vetlanda, for those without stream, is: http://www.elitvetlanda.se/index.php?page=news&stage=1&id=1830
  22. Finally, I have been able to remember to post some additional information about the TV schedule for the opening rounds in Sweden. On the team's joint press conference on April 19th, the following five meetings were listed: May 3rd, Elit Vetlanda - Piraterna May 10th, Dackarna - Vargarna May 17th, Hammarby - Dackarna May 24th, Valsarna - Indianerna May 31st, Västervik - Lejonen All of these are live meetings on Canal+ Sport 1, with the exception of the May 17th meeting that will be broadcasted on TV4 Sport.
