Blimey,he's nearly 50 isn't he.

Forgot about him,probably only very late 30's now as he came here when only 16 i think.

Who could that be? A shock i would say Parker,Johnston,Sullivan,Watt. Not so much a shock Smith,North,Skidmore.All mainly due to age,but Crump has shown that to be irrelevant really.

Bit of a shock,but if he signs for Lynn i for one will give him a chance to prove he has changed his ways a bit.4 years out is a long while and this may have re-kindled his love of the sport he had as a youngster.Undoubtedly he had great talent and if he came in at a low enough average say for reserve it could be a great coup for any team.He could also not be a great coup,time will tell i suppose .But i think he deserves every chance like most of us do at some point in our lives.And i am not a Bridger fan,but he could change my mind.

Just wondering where all the money would come from if the top stars were here?

If there is a PL this year i can't see Doyle being the Stars No1.While it makes sense that he probably wants a team spot,Lynn would need a No1 and he only lives up the road.Would Buster drop other rider(s)to accommodate his average.He has over a pt more average than Lambert. First of all though,lets just hope we do get to see some speedway this season.

He has rode a hell of a lot in these last few years with Sweden,Poland,UK,Gp's,U21's,SEC's so he has rode very often at a young age.But explain to me how he can ride that often now with Poland calling the shots and only allowing one other league.

I like Doyle,but if he was at the beginning of his career with no family so to speak he would have dropped the UK imo.Just what Lambert has done.Doyle don't need to prove himself anymore.Lambert is now having to prove himself against the best riders in the world,and with the current restrictions the Poles have laid down i don't blame him racing Poland and Sweden.Although Sweden isn't as strong as it use to be it makes sense at the moment.Hopefully the Poles will drop the 2 league rule at some point and we may see some of the other riders back in the UK.

You are right that we would need more riders for one league.Maybe they could promote some from the National League(youngsters) to double up into the one league.They would get more rides and a bit of experience against riders that should be better than them at this stage in their careers.

And Godfrey and Chapman had nothing to do with that,although a few won't see it that way.Some just seem to blame that pair even though the sport took a turn well before they came to be in charge.

Probably not dead yet to get some kind of help. BRITISH Speedway bosses have expressed their disappointment after missing out on government funding to help the sport. A range of disciplines will receive millions to help them through the pandemic but speedway, which lost an entire league season this year, has been left out.Now officials of the British Speedway Promoters Ltd have made contact with government officials and there is renewed hope for the sport.Chairman Rob Godfrey said: “This process was not by application but we have been in dialogue with MPs and our APPG (All-party Parliamentary Group) to try and ensure our sport was represented after learning of the funding through listening to Nigel Huddleston (Sports Minister).“It seems quite unfair and unbalanced when you consider we are classed as an elite sport which prevented us running any Premiership and Championship meetings with crowds and yet we aren’t part of the group of sports which have been awarded funding.“It is also strange that we were awarded a pilot test event by the government, the British Final, to work on the reintroduction of spectators to venues but this time we have been ignored.“However, we have now been told there is some more funding about to become available for other sports and we will go through the appropriate process of applying.“The loss of an entire league season is a shattering blow for the sport. Riders have been hit hard as self employed workers and many have had to find work elsewhere.“Clubs have had no income but there are fixed costs which cannot be avoided in a time like this.“A financial boost for the sport would be most welcome. In the meantime as a group of promoters we are processing our thoughts for next season.”

Problem i see Bagpuss is,will they be given the chance to learn the tracks etc in Poland.You have to be on it from the start or you are out.Unless it's different in their lower leagues. To be fair to the riders mentioned they all gave Poland a go,bar Wright(Charles)although his brother rode several seasons.R.Worrall and Cook 1 or 2 each i think and were out.Harris and King done several seasons each but it didn't make them into better riders. I hope i am wrong but could you see many of the youngsters being another Woffy,Lambert.Most riders now are good from an early age 15,16 yrs old and you know they can go onto bigger and better pay days.There's a few like Doyle who come through late(he incidentally doubled upin UK).I just hope they do get a fair crack of the whip and not thrown in the gutter after a couple of poor meetings.

Both Josh and Lewis gave it a go in Poland.Bridger actually not doing too bad.Gave it a go when just turning 19 and had 7 seasons,although only doing 2 fullish seasons out of the 7. Auty on the other hand managed 2 matches one in 2008 and one in 2011. So they didn't stick to the comforts of their home surroundings they gave it a go and Poland didn't make them go forward. Same with B.Barker he went to Poland aged 19 and his teams managed to give him 1,4,6,1 matches in 4 consecutive years.So that didn't benefit him and push him forward. Richie Worrall another. Just because Poland is undoubtedly is the best league,it doesn't mean it will benefit our young riders by going over there.They will be dropped like a stone like the riders mentioned above if the don't perform. No British rider has gone their recently and basically learnt their trade.Woffy was already good,we knew Lambert was going places,he was helped by early learning in Germany,yep Germany not Poland gave Lambert the racing experience to push forward. I just hope the teams give our youngsters matches even if they start off slowly,but i can't see that,can you?You only have to see how many riders are used during the season in the lower leagues in Poland.You think teams are bad here when they use 9 or 10 riders through the season they are quite often near the mid teens.

I fail to see how that could be good for the development of our young British talent.It hasn't really helped some other riders from GB in the past.

Contracts mean nothing to the Poles,as seen in the past.

Is it good for British speedway? What if the top tier in Poland stick with only being able to ride in two leagues.Once Poland develop these riders they will be riding in the top league there ,then they won't be racing in England.That isn't good for British Speedway in my eyes.

Just because most riders were over there,there was nothing stopping them from travelling here for the SON?

That's a pretty poor excuse for them not to hold it in Manchester.

Pretty sure they don't have to isolate anyway,as how would Bewley,Kemp and Palin be riding Wednesday in the British U21 Final up at Berwick. Lets be honest they moved it to Poland expecting to get a crowd in and it backfired on them.If they knew they couldn't have any fans in paying the admission price they would have kept it in Manchester.You could have got two decent nights of racing on a track that can take a fair bit of the wet stuff unlike the drivel served up to us yesterday.

But they could have put it back an extra week

Bbc can't get it right for this country let alone anywhere abroad.

Have the Worrall's,Wright,Cook etc been asked and declined,we don't know.Maybe they are all in jobs now?Think you have to self quarantine on your return from Poland now so don't want to quarantine themselves.
