  1. Why couldn't Somerset then have asked Bates or Riss instead. Edit MattK beat me to it.
  2. There was no official announcement why it was abandoned after 10 heats, but it was agreed before the 2nd meeting started that they would call it after 10.
  3. No one team or fans can do anything about the amount of injuries neither.
  4. How come this meeting is £12 for adults. When i started a Lynn v Somerset match live on BT i got jumped on by a few posters. All i said was this is what we have been wanting a £10 meeting which i thought was a good gesture from Lynn. Then all i got from the usual suspects is it's not a good gesture all BT matches are £10,it's part of the agreement.Well this have proved those posters wrong . Still a good gesture from Rye though to reduce admission and i hope the place is packed out tonight
  5. According to another poster they didn't have any option.Ford said it was the only date he could offer before the cut off date.
  6. If Belle Vue get anything from this it will be a truly remarkable feat.As 2 of their riders must be shattered from overnight travelling.
  7. I think the 2nd meeting should have been called off.It done more damage to the sport running it than calling it off. When the riders and promotions were willing to call it off that says something to me.Plus the fans would have been happy to see it called off all we want to see is a more competetive match. You citing riders and fans were in the stadium having paid their money. What happens when the same has occured and then it rains, match is called off and you get you money back,it's that simple. Only one person it seems was truly happy for it to carry on.Maybe this why they decided before the 2nd meeting just to go to ht 10.
  8. Speedway has never thought of fans when they want to book time off/make travel plans to see a match.
  9. Even so,in this situation Belle Vue should be allowed a facility for those two if they wish.I think having to travel 6-7 hrs for a meeting that starts at 11am is ridiculous giving they couldn't possibly leave until 10-11pm the night before.
  10. What would have happened if Belle Vue said they couldn't make it that day.If it was arranged for after the cut-off date that would have only harmed Poole's chances of making the play-offs. Just looking at a route planner they both have a serious amount of miles to do.380 miles for Cook and 360 miles for Worrall now that is crazy.Maybe Ford thought this will give Poole the advantage they need. Why Couldn't Poole have rode at Rye in the morning,Belle Vue at Wolves in the morning and then Poole v Belle Vue at night.Seems simple planning to me.And helps the fans too.
  11. Bit like the time it cost me a small fortune for a hotel near Newport. That could have been cleared up too but wasn't.
  12. Not exactly 24 hrs later though. He's doing basically what Doyle's been doing really.Missing meetings in hope of personal gain.
  13. Can only see 5th/6th September available for the Lynn v Rye meeting.Isn't the 6th the cut off point or has that been moved back now
  14. Was watchng the footie too, managed to get them to put the speedway on after but even i thought it was poor.Expecting more from a Polish GP,got a few people watching whether they were impressed who knows.
  15. Sorry to be picky but somehow Rye have to win by 4.5 pts to have the same race points difference as Poole
  16. Wasn't thinking in my last reply on this.Surely a morale boost would be making your riders believe they are better than the opposition, not inferior to which Shovlar implies.
  17. Of course, all the riders read what Shovlar writes don't they.
  18. Maybe you will remember this bit of advice when you do one of your pre Poole meeting previews. You know the ones where you are always up against it,even when the Poole riders are in good form. You are pretty well known for this.
  19. I think a team done that a few years ago,i wonder who that was .And that was with them missing fewer riders.
  20. In the words of the great Starman2006"isn't there a Poole thread you can go on"
  21. There will always be "Ah but" situations. What if Lynn had 3 riders injured in the first 2 races of a normal match, what then.We would still have to ride on with 3 riders possibly.Wednesday night was just an unlucky night with injuries i suppose. It's a sport where riders often get injured it's just Lynn's all came at once. Also the only other team that could possibly have come that night would have been Poole.Would they have been willing to come that night, possibly not as they have been down to ride at Lynn next week for quite some time and i suppose wouldn't want to alter all of their plans. The only solution to all of this is to get matches rode more regularly rather than p**sing about with months of only 1 or 2 matches. Then you wouldn't have the need for double headers at the end of the season.
  22. What rubbish,no team in the UK can afford to go to matches with a squad of ten riders, which would have been needed Wednesday. I find the overrated riders are the ones who can't pass another rider while racing.I would rather watch a Lambert,Harris racing from the back than say a Hancock just leading from the front. The best sight in speedway is seeing someone busting a gut to try and pass another rider.
  23. Why?Rye still have Lynn away.Rye are 5 pts behind Poole with 2 home matches in hand.If they win both of those they will be a point ahead and all to ride for.It could get quite interesting for 4th spot.
  24. I would like to scrap the R/R altogether, but a present it is hard to find guests to fill in for injured/missing riders.
