You made a statment that i know bugger all about the history of your club, so i just thought id enlighten you. You spend half you time moaning at me. Now perhaps you will see im for your club. I get up there as often as i can and enjoy my visits, so theres really no need to keep having a pop at me. I have my views, and im like any fan, entitled to them.. -

Because your one of the so called fans who seem to has his head up his wotnot when things don't quite go to plan, And by the way, ive been attending Somerset speedway since 2000, in the conference days of phelps Phillips Hollaway and a youngish Bish, and Toogood, when your stadium was just a hut for turnstyles REFs box where it is now and grass banking all the way round bar where the tractor bay is now, no clubhouse no step terracing one set of floodlight lamps not two, which was quite dull, just bare bones, pits are almost the same. i can't remember who they were against, but i was right in that area, and thought id have a look. I thought they'd fall out the gate and half wouldn't reach turn one, how wrong i was, that night i saw some of the best racing id seen for years, right up to and including heat 15, And even today, that place still has massive potential, but it would take a fair bit of money. Your track is a metre bigger that ours 300 mtres and slightly wider but yours is more on the turn. you have one of the best track curators in the country in Ez, if he's left to his devices you have 4 blokes who vertually live up their through the winter painting cutting kickboards replacing all the kickboards and painting them, replacing netting, checking and replacing posts and chicken wire all for the love of Somerset speedway, just so you can go when the season starts and have a dam good moan.Which if you pay your admission fee you are entitled to do, to a certain extent. Poole Speedway to me will always come first and formost, but i like the club, you have a girl in Debbie Hancock who is commited to the club, you have a team manager/ promoter who is learning all the time, and craves success you have Bill and his good lady who enjoy their speedway, and didn't even know what speedway was untill Glyn Taylor laid the track, by fault or design its a dam good race track, you have several other staff including rakers who give their time and services free of charge to the club, they are called VOLUNTEERS if you didn't know... You may have had your boatrace in the programme, but it certainly doesn't give you the right to have a pop at fans, speedway needs all the fans it can get... and you will, make the play off's. Is there anything else you'd like to know.... -

Why don't you show your glum face and actually come and speak to me. You might just get a suprise, in stead of acting the clown. Garry got it right last year, and he will do it again... -

As i said. You Rebels fans, have faith in Garry May... -
Its not personal, its business. We win titles because while other promotions are kipping Matt is working, and our club is geared for success from top to bottom. Garry has to do what he feels is right for his club sponsors and fans, nothing wrong with that. In fact, they could teach a few promotions a lesson or 6..

Steve, i think your Trolling a bit, don't you? Steve, leave it out mate. Of course another PL club will take him on. Its just circumtances... He's just got to take it on the chin, and move on prove himself and another PL club will come calling. He's a good rider. As i said, its not personal, its business. Garry has to do whats right for the club its sponsors and the fans. Nick should never had been dropped in the first place but that was also circumtances. Id have him in my team all day long.
-
Well i won't be going, it might get called orf... to many leaves on the track... s Really, you were that confident... i think your barking up the wrong tree here mate..
-
Although you would have to feel a little sorry for Ty, but i do feel he's being a little mella dramatic when he says its ruined his reputation, of course it hasn't. Things do change, and Garry May thought the best way forward for the club is to stick with Nick. Maybe, posibly, Garry could have given Ty a little more notice of the intention to bring back Nick into the team, but it happens in speedway, its not personal, its Business. Garry May wants the best team he can posibly assemble, within the clubs guildlines, he has a duty to the club sponsors and its fans. Appart from the posibillity of Nick missing meetings, he now i assume will be their Number 1, which will mean Garry can cover him with a guest. My advice to Ty is simple, this episode has NOT ruined your reputation or your career, you are still an improving rider, clubs will not think any worse of you whatsoever, so i know you might say, easier said than done, but get your head down brush yourself off and start proving you are worthy of another position with a PL side in the future. Its a long season, and you never know whats round the corner..

I might answer that, but you might blow a Gasket if i did!!
-
Still not read my post properly, have you!! Don't slate me untill you've read my post. Properly.. Still i supose its to be expected from somebody who clearly hates the Poole conection...
-
Did i, i don't remember that. Try reading my post again and tell me what it says.

Why don't you go and complain on your own Teams thread, if you have one. What do you want him on, a ten? No, to honest it will do Alex the world of good for a change of scenery. This development might all seem a little harsh given that a wheel has not even been turned in Anger, but the bottom line is from my point of view, Nick should never had been dropped in the first place. I rate the lad and he still on the upgrade. If Nick is going to miss meetings and he's your No 1, then you will have a guest.

Really, oh i think not.. see if your still saying that Come Oct.. Just have faith in Garry May.

Tape Touching - New Regulation
Starman2006 replied to Mike.Butler's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Thats a gooden, whatever will they come up with next?? In the old days you could roll and touch the tapes, only be excluded if you break them, but i doubt you can go back that far.. By the way, the new word is expelled from a race,,, but don't tell dear uncle Kelvin.. -
Seems you certainly have. Where you been in the last ex months?? Do keep up.
-
Er, he hasn't had his visa for qiute some time now. Do keep up...
-
Now, isn't it time everybody took there moans and groans about Matt elsewhere, and let the Somerset fans get back to their own thread..
-
Look, as you are all so keen on Matt, I would be happy to get limited edition signed pictures for you all.. I'm very sure he'd be more than happy to do that for his fans.. This for you all could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to aquire the{ master,} the most successful promoter in recent history's Autogragph.. Please don't delay, this is on a first come first serve basis...

Thank you Halifax Tiger, for putting the record straight. As i said in my post, I applaud any promoter/ team manager / promotional team who get off their backsides and do the best for their club, on and off the track. I cannot speak for anybody else, but at both Poole and Somerset thats exactly what they do, and you only get out what you put in, in turn they/we deserve the success both we at poole and Somerset get. On the subject of chucking races calling meetings off or riding with half a tyre is not catagorically proved, its ALL hearsay and speculation.. rider saftey is paramount, even rmc should know that... success doesn't come easy nor cheap, you have to work at it, and if other promotions are not prepared to do that then they have nobody but themselves to blame. In the meantime i wish you and your club all the best for the forthcoming season...
