Somerset Vs Edinburgh 28.10.13
Starman2006 replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tuesdays not much better, Wednesday could be your best bet.. -
A lot of riders Managers and promoters do read this forum from time to time, but very few will comment.. Mind you, sometimes i can't blame them..

And that is the problem with British speedway nowadays, we don't have the back up to replace a rider. Its either a guest or in Edinburghs case on Monday R/R. People continually talk about the posibillity of a squad system, but how do you impliment that? In the EL it would mean bringing riders into a squad from abroad, now im sure to a certain extent this could be done in the PL, but rider avaliabillity is going to be a problem.

No Sky Speedway = A New Opportunity

Pardon!! -
Nope not local to Burnham on sea. Although im very suprised at the lack of Somerset fans on this thread for your biggest weekend of the season!!! Lets hop they can do something with the track tonight, a little bit of sawdust won't go a miss i would think. In an ideal world Somerset need to take the meeting to Edinbourgh..

Bowser problems.... -
We got lovely Toilets in the back straight Grandstand, and a disabled Toilet and Baby changing area. There's a reasonable Toilet in the Champs Bar.

Couldn't agree more with your first point mate. You should have maybe a couple of challenges to give the boys a good blow middle end of march, then straight into the league programme. This should also apply to the EL. I do feel the play off's are a must, as they do bring in good revenue for the clubs involved, but i do feel the PL play off's need to be re-structured. They are to long winded..

I don't know about the costs, but i was talking to somebody the other day about the self same idea of doing an hour or so highlights programme weekly with live sky meetings for the play off's and final.. That could well be a goer.. -
Well unless they extend the cut off date by posibly 4 days there could be a small problem. If Edinbourgh is called off friday and they can't run Saturday, and with the forcast for Monday Dire, what a farce its going to become, for two teams who have the right after fighting their ways to this position after 8 months to finish this properly ..

I will say one thing with my Rebels hat on. There is no way, if the weather intervienes this weekend the Rebels settle for the first leg, by right, they get the second leg. There is talk, of Edinbourgh staging there leg on the Saturday night, if posible, and if, the forcast is right for Monday then it will be touch and go for Somersets home leg. If that is the case, then Edinbourgh should run Friday week, and the Rebels run Monday week, everything being equal.. Thats just my guess, but whatever happens Somerset should finish with the second leg, no questions.. Again with my Rebels hat on, i really do hope that the Rebels win over the two legs, it will be compensation for Garry Bish and the Hancocks for last year, losing to a last race decider. But, it will not be a walk in the park, and if they want it, they are going to have to work for it, there will be no short cuts.. Best of luck to both clubs..
