Somerset Cases Rebels V Edinburgh 11/06
Starman2006 replied to Starman2006's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No mate Garry is not Sir Alex Ferguson, how can you compair the two? But what Garry is, is a very good team manager, and will not put up with rubbishe, same as Matt ford at poole, if they don't do their jobs there gone.. The different between Garry and Sir Alex is Sir Alex can keep his team every year, and has millions to spend, Garry has to break it up, and in comparison has pennys to spend, Garry is also a shrewd judge of a rider. By the way, his Daughter asked me who you were tonight, luckly, i don't know you... Yes Tom is a worry, buts lets give the lad the benifit of the doubt for a couple more weeks, but i do hope the team learn from last weeks sky meeting, you get 8-10 pts in front and you stay there. I talk about complacency, you ride to the line, don't look round unless you are looking for your partner.. Somerset can still be in the shake up, but they must ride with that Killer instint, destroy teams. All your team are open to improve their averages, and to name two both Alex and Josh don't suprise me, both are still capable of better, Kyle is also capable of attaining a 7 this season. Jason Doyle is your bench mark. -

Well that was an awful result for the Rebels. 8 points up at one point and the Rebels should have buried Edinbourgh alive, but some sloppy riding and gating presented the meeting to Edinbourgh which should not have happened, but fair play to Edinbourgh for taking advantage of the situation. That has got to stop, if the Rebels want to be in the shake up, riders must ride to the line and not doze off mid race, But that said, great meeting good alround stadium presentation very well prepared track by Ez, ablely assisted by the rain this morning. And to finish off the track presentation which ive mentioned before, they need a gate that shuts from left to right at the pitgate entrance decked out in a white kickboard and green netting, then you would be the pride of the PL. Then there will be only one thing missing!!!!!!! Footnote Referee's really need to start picking up on Craig Cooks rolling at the start..... -

POOR, jeez, that place started as a field and a track, the improvements they have made since 2000 have been nothing short of superb, including a lovely clubhouse, and, the place STILL, has masses of potential. Tell me, how long has the Abbey Stadium been where it is?? You talk about the OTA being poor and flat as you put it, JEEZ take away the main grandstand at Blunsdon and you have so much open space where its freezing cold even in mid summer. And, that place, the OTA, knocks spots off swindons for racing. What Somerset do need is a seated grandstand the length of the back straight with a roof on it, THEN they will have a real stadium, to knock spots of yours, and many other tracks in the country. Except ours, of course.. Its called money mate, that stuff that doesn't grow on tree's. Hows that for starters.. -

Allo Allo Allo, what goin on er then!!! -
Premier League. 11/6/13 So if the voice of Somerset can't start the thread to one of your top meetings of the season then i will. Tuesday see's the cases Rebels Take on Edinburgh at the OTA on Sky Sports. This is a chance for PL fans to flock to the OTA as they are offering reduced admission to this meeting, and what a meeting it could be, with Edinburgh tracking Craig Cook, Somerset old boy Claus Vissing and up and coming kid Max Fricke. Craig Speaks for himself, fast gater and a very good rider at this level, Claus im very sure will want to make a point, or 10, and young fricke is an interesting kid who im sure many a promoter will have his eye on likewise several Rebels for future guesting in the EL..... But we get first dibs, Naturally!! The Rebels thrashed a poor Rye House on Friday, but that is what i would expect from a Team looking to take the League title down to the wire again, but not like last year down to a piece of 2lb fishing line!!! i would not expect this to be as easy as friday, but, if everybody does their jobs, then this will be a home win, and the Rebels do need the points, in a word, no complacency From the Rebels... MOD NOTE: Please remember to include meeting dates in thread titles (especially as we dont always get it right when editing!)

Nope 8 's fine, when i looked it had 7 up, some somebody must had changed it. If Alex can score 8, thats good enough, with the odd 9-10 chucked in. But Josh should really be scoring 10 + on a regular basis. -

Really, whys that then? Im not criticising Kyle, you can't help EF's, But some of the other members of your team need to start scoring more consistantly if you are going to make another push for the League title, that Garry and the Hancocks so desperately want after last years near miss. -

Oh dear, not a good night for the Rebels. Kyle 3 R's and 0, Josh 3, and shoud be scoring 3 times that, Alex should really be scoring more. The Rebels now have 2 home meetings. Need to win them both... -

FACT, somebody is not doing their job properly, yes FACT the pile's of shale are piyramid shaped, and should be fully covered but somebody is still not doing their job properly. Er, Phil, we are building and laying a speedway track, not a main road. Olsens team have some very experienced guys, in building ROADS, NOT speedway tracks, and i would go as far as to say one of our top Curators would make mince meat of Olsens lot. Now, there boys lay the road, and i would strongly suggest you enlist one of our Top Curators to do the track, for example Doc at Wolves... And, i will take a lot of convincing its the same stuff as previous seasons... As i said in another post, this is OUR stage, this promotes British Speedway, in the past we have had good tracks and some very good racing, Cardiff is about the day, AND the racing, this year it was a bloody shambles, i do hope Olsen and his road builders take this on board. Speedway is finding it hard enough to attract fans as it is in this country, the last thing we need is a laughing stock for a GP. FACT... -

Well there you go, what a pile of crap people are being fobbed of with. It did look different, very sand based, im glad somebody else has noticed, that will not bind and massive holes will appear.as I said, this is our flagship meeting, our stage, and it needs to be done properly, somebody needs to supervise the transportation of the shale go check if nessercery make sure its dry and well covered, before and when its transported, to me it smacks as a cost cutting measure, even if it has to bed in for a week, that's what you do, we all know the type of racing we can get at Cardiff so you maximise it people pay a lot of money nowadays to go to Cardiff!! IMO all those involved need sacking,{jobs for the boys} If its all down to cost, then BSI need to start dangling big carrots, because it proves this year, even with Tai as a GB figurehead, the attendance was down again..... And if they think, oh sod it, we'll pull Cardiff, its to much hassle, or we're not making enough money, they all want their heads banging together, this is a once a year occasion, and needs fully publicised, even the nationals picked up on Tai, and that's what speedway needs. As far as track prep, PR, management, helpers, volunteers etc you want the BEST, Britain can offer, and the best shale. Total incompetence. And that's what Speedway needs... -

Wrong there mate. British GP's down the years have made for good racing, next year i hope they do things properly give it more time if its posible, save all this last minute rush if a problem arises, even if it has to bed in for a week. 38, 760, down on previous years then, even with the presence of Tai. Carrots spring to mind...
