Starman2006 replied to MajorMauger's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Birmingham have a main road and a dual carridgeway next to there stadium, and Ambulance and police sirens blairing past every 5 minutes, no noise there then??? -
Yeh, it rubbed off on him years ago when he rode for Poole. He was surrounded by them. I suppose its second nature....

Don't get on Tom s back mate, give him time. He's plenty good enough. Like our reserves, he will have bad days and better days, he's still learning. -
Well lets face it, he is not going to get the Team GB post is he!!!

But those kids don't earn very good money are professional sportsmen role models, and top of their profession. if you have abillity in your choosen sport you maximise it tow the line. Your profession comes first. Then when you have several days off, perhaps go out and enjoy yourself, in an adult and responsable manner. Thats what being a professional sports person in the public eye means to me. I don't know what went on with Darcy and Chris. But i would expect there clubs to ask a few questions. Chris and Darcy are in the public eye and limelight where ever they go, and they are at the point in their careers where they could do without any adverse publicity. -

Somerset V Rye House 12/04/13

Very True, unless you are a professional Footballer, then your priorities are slightly different.... I wouldn't say the League Cup was meaningless, but your No 1 priority this season surely is the League Title. Good to see JG scoring well, Kyle also. Kyle still wants rides in the EL, but to do that he has to convince EL promotions that he is capable of doing a job, and by keep scoring well in the PL he will eventually get a chance. Tom Perry is starting to show he's still open to improvement. I just hope for your sakes that Alex isn't to bad, because he will play a big part in your side this season.. -
As i said a while ago now. Sadly the club are probably still paying for the Gollob and Rickardsson days, and your promotion might just have to cut their cloth... There are still plenty of nice young riders about, your promotion just have to look. Besides, what you moaning about, you got Rohan Tungate, what more do you want!!! Easy Somerset win..

Ben Barker In Trouble With The Police
Starman2006 replied to madame muck's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
And he does appologies when he knows he's wrong. I do really wish riders like Ben would just tow the line and consentrate on their speedway. Otherwise in a few years time people will be saying, what happened to Ben Barker? that lad had a lot of abillity and potential. -

Pleased you like a lot of the 80's stuff, very good decade for music. Quite partial to a bit of Country and Western as well, not bad for a Quo fan!!! -

Don't be daft. The only music Naijer can relate to is Bom Bom Bom Bom... Oh, i forgot, Naijer wasn't around in the days when music was music in the 80's!!! -

Bloody El Steve, who's upset you... Yep Darcy made a mistake off gate one in the semi, which had been working well all day. But there's a hell of a long way to go, things will get better and he will learn from the experience. Its an open year and nothing will come easy, not even for our boys.. -

Nobodys having a go phil, but people are just airing their concerns. I still think its a good idea to put the race grid in as people who buy the star would posibly fill it it, especially when it comes round to Cardiff, lets face it, would they in this day and age buy an official programme or a Star? I know which i would choose.. So you really need to capitalise on it.. Perhaps come the British GP you could do a bigger more in depth spread, because in the last few years i must admit for a home GP it has been quite disapointing. Lets face it the British GP should be the years flagbearer for the Star even in front of the World Cup, but behind Poole winning the League, of course!! Seriously tho, perhaps a re think as to how you could make the Star more sale-able to the speedway public, and capture there imagination. Just a thought. -

Thats a very good point. Lets hope not. Personally, i think they should do a more in depth spread of that particular GP round, it used to be a lot more than it is nowadays. It might sell a few more Stars off the back of it as well...
