  1. Yep they certainly are mate. I have an opinion mate, if they dont like my opinion then they shouldnt respond on the thread. i never see the old Hyde rd track but i hear it was a very good track, i also complimented Chris Morton who should have gone right to the top as he was very capable, but that fell on deaf ears as well. Just no pleasing some, or are they on here just to cause a mischief., sometimes makes you wonder.. some are quite responsive and will reason with you, some are just plain argumentative, i cannot be bothered with the hassle.
  2. Opinions mate. Dont like it dont respond. Simple really. I dont need the hastle. I mentioned Chris morton in my post, there aint no pleasing some.
  3. Everybody has there opinions mate, ive got mine. Try reading my posts, but you wont do that, will you... You'l just jump in toes first..
  4. I couldnt disagree, some of the best tracks are in Poland, but what BV have got is room, as i said riders do not have to do it all on lap one. But although they may, get some decent racing, its no different to some of the other tracks. I mean, just as a small example, they bang on about certain individual meetings, well take the world cup final at Poole, Havvy v Rempala, you wont see to many of those, anywhere.. The 1981 world final at Wembley, Penhall V Knudsen and Penhall V Olsen, nobodys made a song and dance about that. People would que for miles to watch Mark Loram at Poole, weekly he would tear up opponants, Same as Kryztof Cegelski he was the same used to dance round riders, then you had Micheal Lee, and ive seen Chris Morton do the same and then theres poor Darcy, and Chris holder, the telepathic turbo twins i called them, they did the same,Somerset get some cracking racing, things do happen at other tracks, not just BV. but the way some talk you wouldnt think so..
  5. To big to long. Like Swindon if it was 10 metres shorter at each end you would have the perfect track.
  6. Blimey Sid, we are going back a bit now. Yep even the likes of Auty can have a go, because you have the room and you have the time to line up your attack.
  7. Steve the snow will have no effect at all mate, what we dont want is hard frosts or very heavy continuous rain. The first and second bend should be ok, providing we do not get the above. That said, i would have much rather the track had a good two mths to bed in, not 3 weeks..
  8. Thats what your place needs mate, if you do shorten the straights you racing will improve no end.
  9. Mate ive not had the chance to get up there yet, all being well, i hope to get up there this season I do agree with your lack of falls bit as appart from a small scrum on bend one all the riders are able to spread out a bit, and will have more time to plan there attack, there are 4 laps to a race, many riders want to do it all in one lap. I see like Sid, you are a big fan of the old Hyde road track..
  10. Very true, Swindon KL Sheffield Shay Halifax Exeter Wembley were all big galloping tracks, the others may have been at some point but are not now. As with Ackney and Cradley and even Wimbledon White City Reading sadly they now no longer exist.
  11. Thats the thing Sid, you need to get the crowds in to pay your way, internationals and individuals are shared events so the club would only get a portion of the income thats why for league racing they must get the crowds in,, we go back to that Carrot again. Torun is good, and although i didnt really see Hyde rd just bits of footage, but i heard that was superb.
  12. Yeh, but i also think the Abbey is to big. Take 10 metres of each end then you would have the near perfect track. plenty of follow the leader racing there mate.. BV is like any decent good shaped track, you will still get many a follow the leader racing, of course you will get the odd PROPER speedway race the same as any decent shaped track, ie Poole and Somerset spring to mind but because of the nature of the BV track and being so wide riders will feel safer in taking more risks, which applies to any track, if the rider feels safe he will put himself out more. But i just feel some fans are going a little over board. Remember, they will be paying a huge rent to the council, so they need to get the fans in, although i believe that is not always the case, and how many councils are prepared to build new tracks and stadia ?They have been lucky, the best thing they did was get out of Kirky lane. But Its new therefore will if kept on top of be easier to maintain.
  13. 28 posts in and your winding up people who have been posters on here a lot longer than you have. BV might be a decent track, but it should be, its brand new and therefore easier to maintain.. But it is also to big. but i doubt you will agree with me.. for which i will not respond. Please consider other posters views.
  14. Exactly, Kevlars Back protectors Boots and steel shoes are a nesessity, but its up to the individual rider if they wear a neck brace. Some do some don't.
  15. The riders USED, to pay for there own Kevlars..
  16. Comic, you still dont get it, do you. Every club in the country will have to make cuts, even yours !!
  17. Anytime soon this season, but maybe not in the future. As i said, we have potentially a very good side this season, lets consentrate on that.. I meant to say maybe in the future.. The team we have this season is potentially very good, but the rider i feel a littl;e sorry for is magic, he was a good servant to the team for the 3 seasons he rode for us. Who knows, maybe in the future we might have both Magic and Dudek riding for us, but at this moment in time im very happy with the team Matt has assembled.
  18. That is the case, but like i said ALL, clubs must dangle a carrot to get people in. Even without that the Sky/BT money should cover any losses.
  19. Thats right, he wasnt going to sign for us this season, but i wouldnt be suprised if Matt did make a move for him in the future. Ignore those who are just purely speculating mate..
  20. As i said, he has to many commitments..
  21. People were talking about the Sky/ BT meetings, not the overall picture.
  22. Thank you Steve, my sentiments exactly..
  23. Something else you. Clearly you make things up as you go along.
