  1. See, you've picked up the wrong end of the stick, its an example. thats your opinion Give the bloke a chance, he's had a lot on his plate..
  2. Chris has had a hell of a lot on his plate. Think about it, if you were i'll what would you think about ? Yes yourself. Chris has had a lot to contend with off track as well as poor Darcy, so put yourself in his shoes. Its not like Chris to ignore the fans, he just has a lot on and it would affect his speedway. Hopefully he can put some of that behind him this year and be more of the rider we all know. Give the bloke a chance, he's not even turned a wheel yet...
  3. Yep as you say, the weather was applauling and whether you have a season ticket or not people will not travel or cannot in that. But it did seem strange when it was anounced there was 58k there.
  4. There you go, speedway is a different kettle of fish to football. although football does seem to be mellowing a bit. Fans are now starting to comunicate better. The same as the Cheltenham festival, you cannot get near a toilet for love nor money if you go as a punter. If you do you need waterproof shoes... But i do feel the powers that be need to try and tap up a national newspaper to give cardiff some sponsorship and a bit of coverage.
  5. Thing is in those days Speedway was supported by the National news papers, they could do with getting involved with Cardiff.
  6. Thing is mate, to my eyes there was no where near58 k there. The comentator said the same thing.
  7. I agree, his injuries were bad, and mentally that takes it out of you tell me about it, then you had poor Darcy, that would have had an effect, then you have his personal life , and i wouldnt want that myself, yes it all takes its toll. To a certain extent it will all still be there, although we dont have any brick walls to worry about, its a shame about Darcy, but you have to try and put it to the back of your mind as much as you can. His personal life will be resolved...
  8. I agree with you, team spirit is all important and yes you need a happy camp, but on the same token they are as you say here to do a job.. We all know Matt..
  9. I agree with you, but i still feel he's better than what he's been showing, i would say he could still average at least 8.50
  10. Ray, Chris has been through a lot since he was world champ. No, you cannot take that away from him, but he now needs to recapture the sort of form that made him world champ, and if/ no, when he raises his average this season it will be deemed as an improvement. Chris needs to enjoy his racing again, there is no presure on him whatsoever from the club, he just needs to go out and do what he does best. a fit and focused Chris Holder would still top the championship standings and put a big hole and give these young upstarts a run for there money in the GP's. Form is temparary class is permanant..
  11. If he improves his average which i think he will, he will have improved as a rider. I wouldnt want you as a team manager...
  12. What do you want me to say ? I think about our team first and formost.. I havnt been through all the teams riders averages yet to see who i think could improve.
  13. Same down here mate, the shelves are bare no milk no bread and little food. no excuse now the snow has cleared, the local shop are exprecting deliveries tomorrow.
  14. For me with my poole hat on, it will be Woryna Schpaniack and i would expect Chris to.
  15. Thing is, those fans cannot prove that, it has to be taken on trust. If you are a regular fan at any track you can get a rough idea how many are there, within say 200 or so, but you dont know for sure. But speedway has never released attendances. I think a few old world finals did, ie wembley 81. I think i recall them saying it was 80k, and considering Cardiff get no more than say 45k that is very good.
  16. I agree with you Steve, but tha thats for some reason always been the case.
  17. All promotions are a business Steve, therefore will pay the correct amount of tax. They couldnt afford not to, otherwise the taxman will dig and dig..
  18. Mate, if it is the case that Breeden have stopped making Red shale then clubs have two choices, either get something very simular with not to much clay content or if you want it brought in clubs will have to start tapping up sponsors maybe 3-4 to help financilly.
  19. Yep i agree Bob, the make over should help, but the period between bends 1-2 being completely re-laid and practice for me is a concern, its barely 3 weeks and imo know where near enough time for it to bed in properly. The 3-4th bends had far to much dirt on it last year, you dont need it, that now looks fine, the straights could be cambered better but they are ok. Its all about the prep Bob, if the boys put the four wheel blade round EVERY week before prep then you can do what you like with it, and it keeps it smooth and level. But your next problem is shale, if its true that Breeden have stopped making Red shale then you need something very simular with not to much clay content in it... you can add it with bags of dust clay, but you cannot take it off... To much clay content is not good...
  20. Well we have some so i think we had better use it sparringly. Nothing else gets near it. thats a shame.
  21. Thank you for you input, i wont lose any sleep over it..
  22. Ive seen all three tracks on TV mate, but im sure there will be some on here who will want to make a song and Dance about my posts without even reading them. But you get them everywhere you go...
  23. Thing is mate, you need the right shale, Red shale is the best in the business, it binds better than anything else. You also need to put the four wheel blade round first thing before prep, every week. Once you've done that you can do what you like with the track. It takes about 45 mins to an hr to do it properly. When its right we have a dam good track, since john retired in 0-12 its been very much trial and Error,, Im not complaining about the BV track its been built on the same lines as Hyde rd, although i never see that track but clearly it got rave reviews, Like Swindon, its just an observation, some Swindon fans admit if the track was 10 metres shorter at each end you would have a dam good race track, My observation is the same at BV, they dont seem to grasp that and they think i am critisising the set up, clearly they dont read the posts and just wade in feet first. my observation is the same at Berwick, if they took part of a corner off it would make it far better and rounded, an observation.. The place at BV is brand new, and providing they keep on top of it it will last for years in tip top condition. Everybody is welcome to there opinions, but clearly poole fans are not. Nothing new there...
