  1. I can't see anything on his Twitter that would provoke this comment, although I am incredibly bad at working out Twitter. Perhaps you should tell us what he put that has incensed you so much.
  2. I kind of agree, but, having said that, Suzi Perry is something of a 'name' in motor sport presenting these days so it's a good thing to have her on board.
  3. I asume you mean "wouldn't". In World terms I would agree, but in club terms it's a whole different matter.
  4. You say that as if it is a bad thing.
  5. Completely wrong, as always. The reason Swindon don't want him to ride is so they can have a guest for Nick Morris. If you're going to be a Swindon troll, at least get your trolling correct.
  6. You might make a reassessment of that if you see his most recent match at Berwick on updates. Includes the comment "Gappmaier tailed off well at the back". And that's in division 2. Adam is the man in the bottom of the side for me. Clearly needed to hold back on his scoring in our last home match. He's ready to go, I reckon. As you say, though, no point in just signing someone for the sake of it. After the way we rode against Rye House, a full strength side may well have beaten Wolves tonight. The side we have out, however, has no chance, but that's just bad luck with injuries.
  7. This is the sort of match that will kill speedway off in this country. Not only because Swindon are very much weakened by absences whereas Wolves are strengthened by them, but also this is the third match running where Troy Bachelor is riding at Blunsdon and for the third different team. It is very hard to explain that to casual supporters. The better option is not to take them to this one. Danny King for Kyle Howarth? How does that work? Has King been particularly bad this year or has Howarth been particularly good?
  8. I used to like the Sheffield "pizza menu". Because it was free.
  9. The best refs are probably the ones nobody notices.
  10. Ha ha. Yes indeed. I just did a quick check when I arrived at work and didn't check previous posts.
  11. Have checked the rules. Reserve can also take a tac sub/joker.
  12. Can a reserve take a tac sub or joker ride? If not there's a possible 6 extra points from Lambert by having him in the side.
  13. I think you are taking posts the wrong way. Nobody is hammering Mike Bast. The issue is whether or not he is one of the top 5 Americans of all time.
  14. Rosco clearly never picked Ellis because he rides for Swindon because he pucked him last year too, when he didn't ride for Swindon. He clearly believes in Ellis going from how pleased he was to sign him after Poole released him. The wisdom of not having Lambert at reserve is clearly something open for discussion, but I would think the theory is to go with your best 4 and work on the basis that nobody needs replacing in any races.
  15. The issue wouldn't be with Doyle coming back in for Zengi, it would be because of the 6 point rider coming in
  16. And good luck to him. But, to me, that sums up exactly why he never reached the same level as riders like Penhall, Sigalos and Autrey. Had he possessed the will to come here and take his career more seriously then, maybe, he could have been one of the World's best, but without doing that he never was. Other riders, such as Jeff Sexton, were also a match for European riders on the USA tracks, but there's a big difference between popping out and beating Ivan Mauger in a one-off meeting and becoming a genuine World Championship contender.
  17. Spot on post Sidney. Echoes my opinion completely. Even regarding the sweepstake on the bus in 1983! To look at how god Bast was you only need to look at when he rode at White City in the Inter Continental Final. He and Penhall were out of their depth. Penhall did something about it. Bast didn't and would have remained at that level.
  18. If you did that and used 6 points to replace Gappmaier, surely you wouldn't be able to bring Jason back in when he was fit as we'd be over the limit.
  19. If Tai has dual citizenship, he has chosen GB and that is fine. If he did switch to Australia then that would be his prerogative. As long he only rode as Australian from then on. Likewise with Rory. If he has dual citizenship and has switched to being a British rider then I don't see what the problem is as long as he sticks to GB only.
  20. It's not a speedway issue. What about Zola Budd? Basil D'Oliviera? I don't believe for one second that Rory's inclusion had anything to do with bums on seats. My assumption is that he has British citizenship but, for some reason, nobody seems to want to confirm if he has it. Likewise nobody seems to want to confirm whether or not Tai has Australian citizenship. Why doesn't someone just ask them this? Quite. You got there ahead of me.
  21. Schlein does have a British passport according to what others have posted here. If true, he qualifies to ride in the British Final using your own criteria. You can change your nationality. The question which nobody seems to answer if whether or not Rory Schlein has, and is now riding as a British rider, or if he is still technically an Aussie.
  22. So you agree that there's no problem Rory Schlein riding in the British Championship if he has residency and a British passport? Is there not one person out there who can just tell everyone, once and for all, if Rory has a British passport and Tai Woffinden has an Aussie one? It can't be that hard for a journalist in the sport to find out.
