  1. But surely teams should be able to pick whichever four riders they want to for such an event s long as they are using their own riders. If it were a league match then I would see your point, but Peterborough were still able to put out a winning side for this event.
  2. It's common sense for Peterborough to allow Holder to ride in Poland instead of the Fours. It's only four riders per team. It's a Sunday. It's Polish league day and the lads career is at stake. How did Peterborough's scandalously weakened team do in the end, anyway? And can people PLEASE stop claiming a UK visa lets you ride in Poland. Where does this nonsense come from?
  3. Is the GP really that strong this year? I keep reading this, but I'm not so sure. It's certainly more even, and maybe stronger at the bottom end than some years, but I'm not convinced it's so strong as in the past. Is Doyle better than Crump? Is Janowski better than Gollob? Lindgren better than Rickardsson? Pedersen a few years back was better than any Dane in this year's competition. Woffinden now not quite as strong as Woffinden a couple of years ago. A good, even competition though. If the Danes need a wildcard I'd go for Nicki if fit.
  4. Yeah. I've seen it now as someone put a link to it. I can never find my way round Twitter though.
  5. He does kind of have a point though.
  6. Someone posted this tweet onto a Speedway Facebook page earlier. When I checked Darcy's Twitter I couldn't see it, although I did see a tweet saying he wished he was still at Poole after they got thrashed last night, so I was a bit dubious that it was genuine. Later there was no sign of the post that was on Facebook either so it could have been a hoax?
  7. Can't see anything wrong with doing that personally. Didn't King's Lynn do a similar thing with Robert Lambert, who couldn't ride until he was 16.
  8. The man is a liability. In a year where my team, Swindon, are top of the league and on a brilliant winning streak he has, quite amazingly, still single-handedly managed to make me lose some entusiasm for the season. Genius.
  9. He is British. He has citizenship. Also, he was due to commit himself to the future as a British rider by riding in a meeting as a British rider but the BSPA refused to allow him to. I can't remember the exact detail, but there was quite a furore at the time. It was only after that that he chose to ride as an Aussie.
  10. So are you going to say what Nick Morris has done wrong or not?
  11. You could be right. I've tried looking up a few sites and it doesn't seem totally clear what their situation is on this. It also gets affected by earnings and so on. Personally I hope they are able to come back last year just for the stength of the league.
  12. The cooling off period was scrapped in 2015 to give employers more flexibility, so as long as they don't over stay they shouldn't have any problems next year. http://www.workpermit.com/news/uk-immigration-changes-including-tier-2-visa-changes-6-april-2015-20150421
  13. I agree with others that the only real flaw is the way they cut to a close up of the finish line to watch the leader go past regardless of whether or not there is a good race going on behind.
  14. It will just end up as a load of uninformed whining like the rest of Facebook.
  15. The only thing wrong with that is the lack of a 2 point win for a home win of 6 or less. I think that system worked better. Other than that it's a decent system.
  16. At the end of the day, what is The Fours? It's little more than an open meeting in reality. And staged on the day of the Polish league. Imagine if the Poles had a Fours meeting on a day when there were British league meetings and demanded that the riders who ride in the UK attend. There would be uproar on here. Holder chose a league match over a meeting of little significance. He made the correct choice, and one would hope the same choices would be made in a reverse situation (such as with Doyle next week apparently due to ride for Swindon instead of in the pairs). Sunday is Poland's day. Everyone knows it.
  17. The Poles have made it so that their league gets priority. British clubs (although I believe Poole refused) had to sign a contract to say that Polish fixtures get priority if there is a fixture clash.
  18. They'd be on a Polish visa as well. Should they make that their first commitment too?
  19. Exactly what people are complaining about Poland doing.
  20. I overheard people who would know talking about it, and Swindon paid 5 grand for Musielak. An increase of just 50 people a week on the gate through having a league topping side would pay that off, so I reckon he will pay for himself. I dont know if it was Swindon or Wolves' decision to make it a full transfer but it was sound business from Swindon even if he doesn't appear in the UK again after this year.
  21. Yeah. We saw tonight at Leicester how much better off King's Lynn are without their Aussies.
  22. Wow. That Lynn side is seriously weak. Chapman could be be responsible for the club closing down if they are putting out sides like that.
  23. It's always in a year that ends in a 7. Or a 2.
  24. Facing the right teams at the right time? It's the right time to be facing Swindon too. Doyle more out than in. Zach out for the year. Just as well Swindon haven't been at full strength themselves when facing everyone 'at the right time'. Mind you, is there a 'wrong' time to face Poole this year?
