It seems, to me, that the quoted rule is to prevent a side holding a rider back in order to introduce him later. Tungate has since signed for Somerset and been released, which had nothing to do with Swindon, so there's no real reason for the MC not to allow such a move on the basis of that rule. I don't think they would ever block such a move, even to poor old much maligned Belle Vue Aces, unless there was a real suspicion of a side trying to pull a stroke.

I don't know the ins and outs of what is going on at King's Lynn regarding Lambert/Bailey or any injuries so just went of what is on the website. With Bailey in they can fit in Tungate, but I don't know if that is likely.
-
Just looking at King's Lynn. It's not clear what average Simon Lambert will be on. It looks like he is in the declared side and on 3.00 but has only had one meeting with an average of 5.60 but in on 3.00. These are the averages on the BSPA site R. Lambert 7.91 Batchelor 7.91 Holder 6.82 Huckenbeck 5.95 Rose 5.67 Porsing 4.69 S. Lambert 5.60 (3.00?) Even with S.Lambert on 3.00 it still comes to 41.95. Tungate on 5.09 instead of Porsing it comes to 42.35. Are these the correct averages? Josh Bailey (2.00) is not listed in the 1-7 on the declarations.

As others have said, it's an average. Points/Rides x 4. Heat 15 being included is one reason that top riders have averages so much lower than they used to.

I was with my 13 year old son at the stall selling tee shirts and saw Martin Ashby stood close by. "That's Martin Ashby there," I said to him. "Where?" "There. In the black leather jacket," I said. "That guy there?" he asked. "Yeah." "But he just looks like a normal guy," said the boy, somewhat suprised. "Well he isn't" I said. Not sure what he was expecting. Not a "normal guy" apparently.

There was one heat when Jason Doyle was riding slowly round the inside line and continually looking over his shoulder, but he is so good and Rye House were so poor that they still couldn't catch him up.
-
Since when?

Posing is on 4.69. Maybe you were looking at the average with BP? I assumed Gapmaier didn't ride because he was riding for Berwick, but when I looked up his score he wasn't even riding for them last night. So, take 2.80 off from that and add, say, 5.09 (just plucking a figure out the air there) you get 41.78. So, maybe it's lucky Ed Kennett got past Nick in the race of the night, and then Adam had a couple of poor rides late in the meeting after a really good start, including his "surprising" heat 15 nomination.
-
I metioned to the person next to me that I thought Nick wanted Ed to get past him.
-
Not a great meeting. Rye House were very poor. I got the impression from about half way through that Swindon were trying not to win by too much to keep the averages manageable.

If Rohan came in it would probably be for Gappmaier. The guy's hardly there anyway.

Speedway World Cup 2017

If Laswon's rants on Facebook are a reflection of his personality then I'm not surprised Rosco doesn't like him. -
Which One Rider Would You Have Liked To Have Seen But Haven't?

Saw him ride for both, although I don't think I realised the Swindon significance at the time. -
Which One Rider Would You Have Liked To Have Seen But Haven't?
Grachan replied to steve roberts's topic in Years Gone By
Although I did see him ride, I would have loved to have seen Briggo in his Swindon years. -
Lee is a tricky one. On form I'd say he was one of the best riders I ever saw, alongside Mauger and Nielsen. But this was short lived. Do you judge him on his top form or on his longevity? On his top form I'd put him as the best of the 5 (although I never saw Craven so would have to go on what I have read), but taking longevity into account he'd maybe be as low as fourth.

Family Tickets For Cardiff
Grachan replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It actually works out exactly the same if you have an oap with you - £114. I was considering this until my son asked if his friend could come, thus solving the issue. So we bought a family ticket for 4 plus one oap ticket for £114 instead of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 oap for £114. -
Cheers. A couple of weeks behind but still useful.

All I can see is Jason Doyle on 13.41 on the BSPA site. I can't see any current averages. Am I looking in the wrong place? I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that it is only the first 4 home and away meeting that are used. Surely it's just a cut off point. Where are people getting this idea from?

Ole Olsen 1975 Peter Collins 1976 Ole Olsen 1978 Bruce Penhall 1981 Egon Muller 1983 Erik Gundersen 1985 Hans Nielsen 1987? (Amsterdam) I'm getting confused with years now! Erik Gundersen in Vojens Per Jonsson in Bradford. I think that's it, or did Erik win 2 in Bradford?
-
Ronnie Moore is the one rider I have any doubt about at all. I might possibly have seen him ride in my early speedway years, but I'm pretty sure I never.
-
As long as watching Ove Fundin ride in a Golden Greats meeting counts, it's everyone from 1966 (Briggo) onwards, with the exception of Jerzy S.
-
Maybe the BSPA wouldn't allow it and that's one of the reasons he got fed up with them.
-
I must say this is not something that had occurred to me but let's see.
-
Pretty sure they will, although not 100% certain. I think it's just 4h 4a as the point when the new averages take effect, but all matches are counted. A more likely change would be Tungate for Gappmaier if it fits, but Adam needs to get a decent score next time out and get above Zak. The "Ellis at reserve is a good thing" theory looks out the window, though. No use having Zak in the top 5 as he won't score there.
-
I've had a go at the averages - using Speedway Updates and my own possible shortcomings! It should be correct give or take a point or ride here and there! Doyle - 107/43 x 4 = 9.95 Morris - 98/44 x 4 = 8.91 Bellego - 72/39 x 4 = 7.38 Gappmaier - (assessed?) 4.00 (or would this be based on PL average?) Zak - 31/38 x 4 = 3.65 Ellis - 32/36 x 4 = 3.56 Wilson-Dean - 20/28 x 4 = 2.86 Total = 40.31 Going on these figures (open to correction), there is a big danger that Zak will move up into the top 5 after the next meeting, which must put BWD's poistion in doubt. Also interesting that it's Ellis who has been getting flak online but he's nearly a point above Bradley. At the moment we are 1.69 short of 42, which isn't much.
