  1. He's improved a lot since I saw him earlier on in the season Here I'm here . What crap remarks , I said it as I saw it on the updates and I was stood about 10 feet away from the little altercation . Cook's a terrific rider at PL level , we all know that , but the red mist descends far too often
  2. Well predicted Blobby . We certainly came back to earth with a bump today , out gated and out ridden for the majority of the meeting . Only Richard and the reserves riding anything like how they can . Edinburgh were very professional with Cook outstanding , though his reaction after heat 13 was disappointing . Yes the three riders , Cook , Masters and Lawson were very close together on the back straight , but that's racing . Though watching one rider wearing a crash helmet trying to head butt another rider wearing a crash helmet was comedy gold . Credit Masters for ushering Lawson away before it got really silly . Anyway well done Edinburgh , the pendulum seems to have swung back .............for now
  3. Hope he gets away with 7 , his starting is quality when he gets away with it
  4. Horseshoe Bar for three o clock before heading for the 5-24 train if anyone wants to join us
  5. Ach you never know . Hansen and Wells go ok round the dump and Wethers might rediscover some form round his old stomping ground . Might not be the slaughter that some think
  6. James' absence was the thing that probably lost us the meeting tonight . Clegg did ok , but James is improving week by week
  7. We lost a meeting that we probably should have won . It happens , we move on
  8. We're still building . We're usually rubbish remember . We still came out of an away meeting with a point .
  9. Though I think we do Newcastle a dis-service debating our frailities , they must have ridden their socks off tonight to pull that meeting out of the fire considering they were so understrength .
  10. Maybe he just needs a bit of match fitness . The stop-start way the season has started because of rain-offs hasn't helped him . They're only human and hopefully he rides his way out of this bad spell . I don't think any of us thought we were title favourites , but I still think we'll make the play offs as long as we don't lose too many of our riders through the doubling up irritation as the season progresses
  11. Nah , what's the point of that ? It's not as if we're losing home meetings or owt like that , no need to panic .
  12. True , we did manage to get at least a point out of the meeting
  13. That's a blow , but credit Newcastle they must have dug really deep being so understrength . Credit where credit's due , but that should have been a fixture we should have been looking to win .
  14. Think we'll wait and see if it becomes the one league at some point in the future . We have Edinburgh , Berwick , Workington and Newcastle all reasonably close , our EL local derby would be Belle Vue . Let's establish ourselves among the PL big guns for now
  15. Very entertaining afternoon yesterday , Diamonds made a good fight of it thugh we chucked a few points away . Great to see young James being rewarded with heat 15 as his riding deserved it . Though I wish Coventry would rearrange all their fixtures that clash with ours , that would be very helpful
  16. Haven't seen him on here for a while come to think of it , hope he's ok
  17. Well after the usual bright and sunny weather for most of the week , the hope is that the raingod takes a day off on Sunday and graciously allows us some speedway . The Diamonds are the visitors and they seem to be struggling a bit lately . Easily brushed aside at Berwick last Saturday and Smugged last Sunday . The boast young Lewis Kerr at number 1 , decent when he gates , and ex-Smug Stevie Worrall . They will both trouble us , but after that it's anybodies guess . The lesser Lindgren has been poor at Ashfield in the past and Christian Henry seems to be going through a rough patch of form . I'm assuming Rosen is still injured and it will be r/r at 2 and young reserve Lewis Rose is also struggling for points and appears to be going through a crisis of confidence at present . They used guest reserves last weekend , so who knows if Neilsen will be riding or not . We will be itching to get back into action after a catalogue of rain offs either side of our TV spectacular . So fingers crossed we get this on and start putting points on the board to climb up the league table , which has it's usual disjointed appearance at the moment .
  18. You've been there and done it the other way round , it happens and there's nothing anyone can do
  19. Oh well , nothing else that could have been done really . Started raining as soon as I got off the train at Ipswich station at quarter to two and it never stopped thereafter . Still I had a very nice curry with the Morris clan in a place called Ghandi's ( who'd have thought that one up ) so we had a good night out in Ipswich anyway .
  20. I appreciate now that the Panthers promotion are blameless in this instance , our annoyance was the timing and we couldn't believe this clash only came to light 5 days before the scheduled match . And to answer the earlier poster , I am a seasoned speedway traveller and I had used the pay later option with the hotel and was able to cancel . My irritation was only because I wanted to see my team race on one of my favourite tracks and was really looking forward to it
  21. Entertaining enough meeting though Newcastle faded badly . Bandits only had two last places and one of those was when Barker fell while leading . That tells you how easy it was for Berwick . Worrall and Kerr ( when he gated ) were good , but I was really disappointed in Christian . Bandits hadn't a failure . Track looked really good and we had a few decent scraps on it , so all in all nobody had any reason to complain
