  1. Had a go at Wolbert too . Says it as it is does our Stewart
  2. Speedway is a sport full of quirky surprises . Poole bend the rules , the Edinburgh promoters smile , Darcy rolls up sober , but nothing prepares you for .............................................Desperate Deek guests for Glasgow . That's like the Pope belting out the Sash in the Louden Tavern The sport never fails to shock the average punter , how will we cope ? Anyway , as a sideshow to the main event ( Deek in a Tigers bib ) , we have the Diamonds to take care of . We should be full of ourselves after last nights earthshattering away thrashing of Workington ( still pinching myself ) , so we're full of confidence for this next test . The new greatest Tiger ever ( Rusty Harrison ) will lead the attack . Backed up with whatever Kevin Wolbert turns up and Theo Pijper , we should have too much firepower for the Geordies . Victor's back after we sent him home to Sweden so we could use r/r at Workington and Tero Aarnio makes his home debut ( round about heat 9 probably ) . Add to that our ever entertaining Danish reserve Kasper and .....................erm ..........Deek . Geordies will be well served by the likes of Stuart Robson and Danny King , so should be a decent meeting . Team are - Awayday specialists 1 Victor Palovaara 2 Theo Pijper 3 Kevin Wolbert or Kevin Wolbert 4 Tero Aarnio 5 King Rusty 6 Kasper Lykke 7 Our guest Newcastle 1 Danny King 2 Lewis Rose 3 Stuart Robson 4 Lewis Kerr 5 Ludvig Lindgren 6 Simon Nielsen 7 Chris Mills
  3. Blobby for gawds sake change the record . You have no idea what wages Glasgow are or aren't paying , you're just listening to the usual rubbish that gets passed round Overtaking Nirvana every Friday night . Speedway rumours are very seldom true
  4. There's not enough smug dust to go round , it's all at the other end of the M8 in Overtaking Nirvana
  5. I was only narked at his non-performance at Berwick , i agreed about how good he was round Ashfield . Last night he was truely awesome though
  6. Just home and still pinching myself . After an opening 5-1 to Workington , i thought here we go again , but after that it was a magical Glasgow performance . Never since Shane Parker in his pomp have we seen such dominant away display from a Glasgow rider until Rusty Harrison tonight , some of his blasts round the outside of the track had to be seen to be believed . Such a shame Rene Bach spoiled the 18 point max in heat 15 . Not a one man band however , this was a superb team effort . In saying that , the Workington track was superbly prepared , like a billiard table with just the right amount of dirt . Yes , the Comets fans will be disappointed at the result , but they have a track that gives up superb racing like we got tonight . Workington look like a team bereft of confidence , they are much better than we saw tonight . I hope they can get it together again . Joe Jacobs looks a decent addition however , how Peterborough think a dud German is a better option than him is beyond me .
  7. Stood on the 2nd bend at Derwent Park . I have died and gone to heaven
  8. Weather looks promising , so i took a half day and will make the trip . C'mon the stripes
  9. Is nobody bothered ? I'm assuming ex-Comet , Tero Aarnio will be making his Tigers debut in this meeting . If the weather is ok , i'll probably pop down .
  10. The Dark Lord maybe not , but the other Chuckle Brother has been known to dabble in the forum .
  11. Those rules have been relaxed then , since Fox came in on a 5 . Only the Aussies that have problems these days
  12. Why do you keep having a pop at the PL ? Only a couple of folk think it's some sort of speedway utopia , the rest of us are well aware it's on life support .
  13. True , there's even less folk go to speedway now than go to church these days
  14. Damn , i was trying to catch a blobby shaped one Was there not some row a few years ago about Chris Kerr and his average ?
  15. The Dark Lord would never sanction that one haha
  16. Fair play , usual sanctimonious stuff from the bad end of the M8 To be fair to Rocket Ben , his own team are gash and we're probably about the only other team bad enough for him to have a pop at . Anyhoo , at least i've heard of our new signing this time
  17. The future of the EL seems to be comedy track prep coupled with eccentric refereeing
  18. You canny beat getting battered over the head by the rule book
  19. That's nonsense even for you . Everyone knew Kurtz could be better than a 5 pointer , Somerset were taking the piss trying for a 3 . And yesterday Kurtz looked a very decent PL heatleader . The only reason Palovaara is a 7 is because he's Swedish . We know from experience there's a lot of dross in Scandanavian speedway and his points scoring over there is taken with a pinch of salt . So for Viktor to beat Kurtz yesterday was a feather in his cap , and who knows it might be the starting point for him
  20. As a speedway fan can you not put who wins or loses , or how they get there , to one side and just enjoy the racing ? My team lost by ten points today , but i had a pint in the bar afterwards quite happy my team tried their best and just lost to a better team on the day . The racing was terrific . There;s a danger we get too wrapped up in the politics of the sport and forget why we go in the first place
