I'm missed the programme on logging techniques in the 1930's , originally on the Quest programme listings . Not happy , i was looking forward to that

Workington Vs Edinburgh 14th June 7pm (premier League)

That's the point . Yes we all know about the logistical difficulties tracks face and costs have to be taken into consideration . But it's supposed to be a professional sport and should be run professionally with the paying customer getting full value for money . These issues have to be addressed before we've chased everyone away from our tracks through continued abandonments and postponements . -

As Lioness has said , we went to the dump in the Scottish Cup one year ( on Halloween as well ) with only Lee Dicken as an actual Glasgow rider . But your example must have been a league meeting , which makes it an even more impressive attempt . For sure , the all-guest side is definitely achievable . -

Agree with every word . Our sport is in trouble , big trouble . Crowds are dwindling at an alarming rate and yet promoters continue to treat it's paying customers with contempt . The whole structure of our sport is in disarray with continued ill-thoughtout tinkering of the rules , but instead of coming up with a creditable plan to take speedway forward , they continue to find new ways of driving people away . -

This has all the makings of a cracker . Rye have the sort of lead which is defendable but they are by no means out of sight . But no passengers today , we need everyone firing . I have to say though , Anders Thomsen is becoming one of the riders of the season in the PL . We wondered how he'd cope moving into the main body of the team , but he's been absolutely sensational . We've unearthed a real star of the future . -

Ah that old chestnut . We'll see , we have an awful record of trying to pull back deficits -
Rye House V Glasgow (knock Out Cup) 14th June @7pm
Paulco replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When we were splashing around in the rain a few weeks back , Rye were actually ahead in the meeting , so 10 points is still a big ask . The last thing we need is a replay though . What has Theo been up to ? -

It really is . You feel for the injured rider , but that's ridiculous -

It's my new ambition to see a speedway team with 7 guests in a meeting . I firmly believe it is doable -

It does feel like that . That's probably all the rain offs to blame for that . No rain forecast for tomorrow , but that goes for nowt -
Sheffield V Scunthorpe Pl 12/6/14

Both leagues are dying on their feet . Every meeting you go to , very few teams roll up with their declared 1-7 , it's becoming farcical -

Sheffield V Scunthorpe Pl 12/6/14
Paulco replied to montie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With the doubling up/down/sideyways and riders having fixture clashes , nobody knows who's riding for whom these days PL or EL . It's now got so ridiculous that i believe the league systems in this country will have to be scrapped and we start again . With just the one professional league of maybe 16 or 18 clubs -
Somerset Vs Ipswich Koc 2nd Leg Fri 13th June
Paulco replied to CardinalSin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes they smugged themselves a bye in the first round . So that leaves the semi finals Ipswich v Plymouth and Edinburgh or Berwick or Sheffield v Glasgow or Rye House or Newcastle -
Rye House V Glasgow (knock Out Cup) 14th June @7pm
Paulco replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't worry , last time we won away from home , Scotland was an independant country -
So we try again to get the tie of the first round , between the league's two whipping boys , out of the way and let the victors get a doing off Newcastle in the quarter finals . Both teams are depleted , due to hugely important meetings on the continent , and join in the guest fest that has become the norm in the PL . Both French riders due to be at Ashfield this Sunday will be in their homeland instead . Dimitri still injured , and worryingly the red alert e-mail says for several more weeks , and Tressarieu away for the Normandy snail racing best pairs or something more important . While we are also missing Kasper Lykke , who is also away doing something far more interesting than a Sunday evening in Possilpark . So unless any other reason for missing the meeting crops up , Sunday's teams might be - Glasgow and guests 1 Kevin Wolbert 2 Christian Henry 3 Anders Thomsen 4 Theo Pijper 5 Rusty Harrison 6 Tom Perry (guest) 7 Andre Compton ( guest) Rye House and guest 1 Eddie Kennett 2 Ben Hopwood (guest) 3 Luke Bowen 4 Steve Boxall 5 Jason Garrity 6 Jason Bunyan 7 Stefan Nielsen Hopefully we'll have kept tonight's first leg tight enough to give us a chance of progressing , and note the later start time for tomorrow's meeting

This season is just a complete mess . Nobody knows who's riding for who until we turn up at the track -
We picked the two easiest ones , Workington and the Smugs how clever was that eh ?

You are right , i don't know the reasons behind it . Is it a new thing cause i was at Peterborough the night you tonked Coventry 70-20 last August and i don't remember the national anthem being played that night . -

Yeah between that and the general lack of enthusiasm surrounding a meaningless match , yeah you're probably right .
