Suppose it's different for us that have had no top flight speedway for years , we are used to PL fare . You still get the odd one or two bemoaning the loss of EL racing on Ipswich threads . But a meeting between two evenly matched sides is a wonderful spectacle at any level , and surely any speedway is better than no speedway at all - which looked like being the case at Peterborough 3 or 4 months ago .

Give it a chance . The PL is more than just about the speedway , the EOES will be visited by some colourful bands of supporters that you just dont get in the EL . One tip though , tell the stadium owners not to shut the bar before heat 15 , the after meeting party is all part of the visiting fan's experience .

Very true , Nelson at Rye House never did a great deal last season after missing a year , and he misses out again . This is such a shame as Ringwood did seem to be getting to grips with Ashfield and PL racing towards the end of the season . And this important 2nd season would have given him the opportunity to really kick on , much in the same way Jason Lyons did in 1990/91 . As you say , i wait with interest to see how the year's disruption affects Mason Campton's progress .

This is a major blow to our chances of doing anything this year . I firmly believed Joey would have put 3 points on his average this season after the way he finished the 2013 campaign . Regardless who is or who isn't to blame , it's such a shame that promising young Aussies get their careers interrupted by ridiculous red tape . Let's hope Joey isn't lost to British speedway .

When it was being touted that Glasgow were keen to make Joe an asset , it was at the time Sean Courtney was team manager and Joe was regularly staying at Sean's house . It's unknown at the time if Ipswich weren't playing ball or Glasgow's interest wasn't really serious , but when Sean left his post as team manager all mention of Joe becoming a Glasgow asset stopped . To be fair , and to upset the " back the Brits " brigade , Thomsen and Ringwood are a better bet at reserve , but Joe warrants a place at PL level somewhere .

Now now , let sleeping dogs lie . And i'm pretty sure he's raced in enough official meetings for Berwick for that not to be an issue

No , Jimmy Savile is dead . Dont you watch the news ?

We could always unclutter page three with topless start tart of the week

We've had some duds , but even O'Malley was better than him .
-
While Barrett did have good meetings round Ashfield in 2012 ,last season he was very ordinary

That Argentinian rider that rode for Sheffield last year , Albin , is on 3.62 as opposed to Joey's 3.56 . Kasper Lykke on 4.04 is another possibility . Hope Joey gets his visa because i'd rather have him than either of those two .

5 weeks tonight we're over at the Nou Camp for our first meeting . Any word on Joey's visa yet ?

Plenty on here mate . We've had pages of problems that dont really exist .

Agree , it's a long list of foreign duds

If you have been to our happy little circuit , you'll know the outside fence cant possibly be pushed back any more else it will be out in the street . How wide is an airfence when pumped up ? maybe about a couple of feet wide at most . Hardly going to make a great deal of difference .

The various contraversies is what used to make Newport v Glasgow clashes down there memorable . Funny how it was never as fiesty when the teams met up here .
-
He's been back and forth doing our track a few times in the last couple of seasons . But i agree when we started going down the " home advantage " road , from about 2005 , we ruined a great racetrack . It wasn't the fair track that caused so many home defeats , it was assembling weak sides .

the entrances are governed by that annoying football park in the middle . I've often wished we would do what Bradford used to do , and have astro turf in the corners which could be lifted for the speedway .

It's refreshing to see yet another positive Glasgow post from yourself Fred . And it's Dickson . And if you read the whole article in the Speedway Star , instead of the selective part to suit your anti-Glasgow agenda , you'd know that the Doc will be on hand from the beginning to advise and assist and given how nice a bloke Alan Bridgett is , he'll help out if and when asked .

The second season is usually when Aussies click if they're going to be decent , unless you're Darcy Ward

Is British speedway any foreign rider's priority ? And we questioned that going by the pile of junk he was riding in some meetings last year . But on the occasions we saw him on good machinary he looked like a rider who could have a bright future , so we can only hope he gives us his full commitment on that score this year .
