I suppose looking at it without the red and white goggles on , there is a bit of sense in this . If i was Charles Wright i would be very vocal in my disgust at not getting a team place when there's Aussies getting signed up , who on the face of it , aren't any better than him . With Harkess being Chairman of the BSPA and a promoter at the dump , it's very easy for my fellow Tigers fans to believe the evil , bony hand of Edinburgh is behind all this , especially when Fricke seems to be ok to start a British career . But lets just dodge the bullet we should have dodged last year , and sign another two riders that we can be reasonably sure will at least ride to their average .

Exactly , we are all getting a bit fed up with continual sob stories from promotions . We had it at Glasgow , Edinburgh and Workington last year as well . It's like promotions are putting all the onus onto supporters and potential sponsors if things aren't going right . Getting beyond a joke now .

Bellego can sod off
-
No , they would be stuffed . Which makes me feel it's a scare story .

Is this just a Peter Waite style scarestory i'm hearing , or is there really a financial crisis ? If the Bandits don't run what happens regarding the Benfund and the World Under 21 final ?

Weather permitting that work is ongoing tomorrow , though the forecast isn't encouraging
-
I can see that fluctuating between home and away meetings . Obviously Cook will be number 1 , but i can see Pijper riding at 5 at home meetings with Masters at 4 and them reversing that away from Armadale . Cook and Pijper will be a stronger heat 13 combination at home , while Masters will be more effective in that heat away . Elsewhere i reckon Sneddon at 2 and Fricke at 3 and Tabaka at 7 with either Helfer or Bekker at 6 .

Last year the programme was £2-50 and the car park was £2 . I would be surprised if that changed . -
As long as they want me to go around counting folk

The weather was a factor , but the quality of racing was rubbish too . Getting a track capable of exciting racing should the the most important factor , get that right and we'll hit that breakeven figure no problem .

I don't think the poster was belittling Scotland or Scottish speedway . Like it or not we are still an outpost in speedway terms , Jim McMillan always said that his biggest regret was not moving south earlier in his career . Edinburgh will be a good place for him to start his speedway education , they've proved time and again that they're good at bringing young riders on , but he'd have been more in the spotlight based down south . Whether or not that is a good thing is debateable .
-
Aye there's not much of it
-
If you read between the lines in the Sean Courtney interview in this weeks Speedway Star , it might shed some light on it . He said he was pleased with Harley Horwood with the fact that he didn't barter when the deal was put to him .

Pretty sure that working visa thing was stopped a few years ago Wendy

I wouldn't underestimate Edinburgh . They have the past two PLRC's at their spearhead and a potential potent reserve in Tabaka . They are always very hard to beat round Armadale and if , as i suspect , a promising young Australian joins them - they will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season . As for my beloved Tigers , well we'll see . Screen and Grieves will score heavily round Ashfield as usual , but i worry about them away from home . A lot depends on James Wright . If it's the James Wright of old , then we could have a very good season . But if it's the James Wright of the last couple of seasons .........then it will be another season of struggle i fear .

The current holder
-
There was obviously more going on that day , than it simply a case of James riding poorly . I think the hand of Denham had an influence on that performance . I'd take comfort in his performance in an Ashfield classic , which he would have won till he got Fishered in the final .

Forget Mills , guy tried his best for us , but he found the travelling horrible and 4.87 is about as good as he is . Schramm is one rider i would love to have in my team , and for him to start at reserve would be a bonus . Has Rajkowski recovered from his injuries ? Last year's brief comeback with Redcar would suggest not . Sedgmen hmmmm , dont know what the story is with him , looked to have plenty of potential a couple of years ago , but last season's form would be a worry for me . There is still the well thought of Max Fricke to be had , but do we want two untried Aussies at the same time again . And , of course , the other Wright brother .
-
Wasn't so long ago he was Premier League riders champion and holding down a second string EL role at Belle Vue and Swindon . Has he underachieved in the last couple of seasons ? Yes he has , but he is only 26 and more than capable of putting a point and a half onto his average . The predictable couple of pages of juvenile drivel that followed the announcement aside , i think most Tigers fans will be extremely happy with this signing , it gives us a pretty decent heat leader trio to go into battle with . With the work getting done to the track and the stadium , a competative looking side taking shape , i'm beginning to excited about March now and the countdown to the new season can start properly .
-
There was concern over his experience and ability on 500cc machines , concerns that proved to be correct
-
I think he would too , and i'm sure he's in the thinking . 12.03 left for two riders . Nedermark , or even Poty Sanchez, would only come into the reckoning if we landed Max Fricke on an assessed 5 . Then he could start at reserve , and with his reputation , he could be useful down there . If , however , Fricke goes elsewhere then it is more likely to be Charles Wright and either Lemon or Vissing , with Lemon being the more liklier .
-
Well aye , why not . James and Joe wont improve , but they are still capable of maintaining their average . Henning could easily improve his . Harley could be anything and we now have a young 3 point British rider willing to travel the length of the country to grab his chance in the Premier League . Still 12.03 to play with for our final two riders , so aye reasonably satisfied .
-
Is this " banter " or just complete drivel ? Don't think so . He was down to guest for us when Mason Campton went home before our last match against Berwick , but we were able to use r/r in the end up
-
Absolutely , when you compare Shielfield Park to both Ashfield and the dump , Berwick fans watch their speedway in the Nou Camp .

Berwick have to be applauded , i just hope their gamble reaps dividends . Their season ticket is only £160 too , which is either suicidal or astonishing value . Worky too have took up the baton in giving the public value for money , they were tradionally one of the dearest tracks , but now have went in the opposite direction . Sadly both Scottish clubs are stubbornly refusing to join in this new and refreshing approach to attracting new fans , both still are around the £16 mark and you pay extra for the programme too .
