Beautiful morning . We are due some rain later , but it doesn't seem to be as threatening to the meeting as what was forecast yesterday . So all systems go for what should be an interesting meeting . What was the problem with Taylor Poole at Workington last night ? Is he struggling for fitness after his long lay-off ?

Rye House V Plymouth (pl)... 18th August @ 7pm

If you canny get an updater i'll do it . Unsure how to load the page though . -
The " for sale " signs hanging up outside the stadium , last week's draw against the Rebels all but extinguished play-off hopes , the Monarchs building up a head of steam to look top 6 candidates . It all adds up to an air of depression hovering over Saracen Park this coming Sunday . But there's still a little matter of a speedway meeting to be won and an entertaining looking visiting side to do battle with . We welcome the Witches to Ashfield this week and are another side trying to fight their way into the play-off places . They have a interesting mixture of youth and experience , so will be hard to overcome . I'm a little disappointed the exciting Cameron Heeps wont be in their line-up . Sunday's teams are - Glasgow 1 Joe Screen 2 Mason Campton 3 Josh Grajczonek 4 Henning Bager 5 James Grieves 6 Charles Wright 7 Filip Sitera Ipswich 1 Taylor Poole 2 Dakota North 3 Leigh Lanham 4 Matt Tressarieu 5 Rohan Tungate 6 Tom Young 7 Morten Risager Impossible to predict with any confidence about how this meeting will go , but i hope we can secure the three points .

Like in 1996 when the Scottish Monarchs raced at Shawfield , the novelty of just going to support the opposition soon wore off . You cant beat going to see your own team , so fingers crossed a buyer is found and the Tigers carry on for many years to come .

Rye House V Workington 13/8/12

He's pants at Armadale too , Son of God just suffers from " small technical track syndrome " , it's not an unusual state of affairs . He needs to ask his Dad how he rode Blantyre 1 for the key to riding these types of track . -
Bizarre
-
Rode his first season at Edinburgh ,in 2005 , where he broke a leg while riding for the Monarchs at Newcastle . Moved to Glasgow the following season where he spent the season at reserve ( the year when it was the A , B and C graded reserves) . He doubled up the following season at Belle Vue . He moved to Birmingham in 2009 where his form dipped , he lost his place there and moved to Stoke - without much success there either . Rejoined Glasgow in 2010 , but suffered a horrific crash at Berwick early on in that campaign . Sat out 2011 , before coming back to ride for the Tigers again this year . Was dropped a couple of weeks ago after struggling to make any impact at reserve .

There seems to be a trend nowadays , throughout speedway , of promoters trying to get the paying public to do their job for them . You get fed up of the ordinary fan getting the onus of the success of the club being placed upon them .
-
Exactly , the riders loved the Glasgow 2010 track , but the fans were bored rigid . Speedway is in the entertainment business first and foremost .

You are correct , my English is shocking . I'm only amazed it wasn't the King of Smug , Mr Snackette , who pulled me on it .
-
Anyway , we transgress . So the general consensus would appear to suggest that the track is much the same gate and go animal as it was last year . Such as shame as Leicester has the potential to be one of the best venues in the Premier League . Unfortunately having a duff track hampers that potential somewhat and the sooner the Lions promotion realise that , the better .
-
Touche , though that volume will have to be pretty thick .
-
Have you misplaced your English/Gobbledygook translation dictionary then ?
-
Come on Snacks . What constructive input to a thread about Leicester's dodgy track does pulling somebody up about their spelling and punctuation . At least that person is trying to make a point about the matter in hand .

Who Will Win The '7-12 Trophy' !
Paulco replied to manchesterpaul's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's an end of season fixture filler . Surely a match between two teams for some sort of trophy is better than an awful individual meeting or a stupid best pairs , in late September or early October . -
You wont hear any true speedway supporter moaning about it either . How many extra bodies will Barker and Fisher add on to attendances up and down the country this season ? Quite a few i would imagine . I'm just glad my team has drew Plymouth in the cup , which gives us an extra chance to see them in action .

Hoping for a peaceful one this year
-
Seemed to be a rider totally lacking in confidence . Four riders leaving the tapes and heading into a first bend together , he'd be the one to back off .
-
Agree , there is no reason whatsoever why Adam Roynon should be riding in the NL anymore .
-
Great signing for the Devils , certainly adds an extra bit of spice to our KO Cup tie .
-
Did any of Ipswich's horse racing lovers back John Louis at 11/1 in the first race at Lingfield yesterday ?

I have to say , hearing that Bunyan is to be the GP wildcard made me chuckle .
