  1. That wont happen , cause i'll be there anyway . Glasgow Guy is quite correct about the apathy amongst the Tigers' faithful , for the first time in living memory the end of season dance has been cancelled through lack of ticket sales . Hopefully what we hear next Saturday will change all that and have us looking forward to the 2013 season with renewed enthusiasm .
  2. Correct . Workington and Glasgow have had a competative , and not always friendly , rivalry over the last 10 years or so . However the prospect of no Tigers/Comets clashes at Ashfield or Derwent Park next season is unthinkable . Hopefully solutions for both clubs to run next year can be found and it's business as normal .
  3. Whilst trying to sneak in 27 Big Macs and 3 dozen crates of beer , into Sheffield on Sunday , it struck me how expensive this sport had become when i was forced to bin my snacks and pay £27-50 for a pie and a cup of tea inside the stadium .
  4. Never heard that , another one sneaked in under the radar
  5. Definitely . I was impressed with him at Glasgow last Sunday
  6. Aye , once again you've proved to be a credit to the club you claim to support .
  7. Darcy Ward was probably the last big money tranfer when he moved from Kings Lynn to Poole . Think the days of those kind of moves are now history as you quite rightly say .
  8. Yup , checked into the Garrison and down to the pub by opening time .
  9. Swindon dont have the kind of money to buy him outright , i would think Poole , Coventry and maybe Wolverhampton would be the only ones capable of buying anybody these days .
  10. Two groups of three , with home and away fixtures . Two group winners in a two-legged final . Don't think Edinburgh have seen the last of double-headers this year
  11. If Tabaka misses the remainder of the season , the lack of reserve firepower will find them out . They need him back badly if they are to have a chance .
  12. I'm pretty sure we will be . Hopefully the new owners , whoever that turns out to be , have the financial capability to put a competative team on the track . Would love to be free of the constraints running on a Sunday afternoon brings , hopefully that's one thing that can be addressed . Teamwise , i think it will be a very different septet that takes to the track . Age catches up with everybody , and whether Screen and Grieves are riding in 2013 must be shrouded in doubt . Grajczonek has made it clear he is not in love with the Ashfield circuit and i think he'll be looking for pastures new as well . Campton has had a successful opening British campaign and i would like him to stay , likewise Bager who has done very well since coming in . Would love Nick Morris , Theo Pijper and David Bellego back , but whether that is possible is not known . So a septet of Nick Morris David Bellego Theo Pijper Mason Campton Henning Bager And whatever is possible points limit wise for the remaining two riders .
  13. A perfect example of why you shouldn't listen to ill-informed tittle tattle at a speedway track . Joe twisted his knee and damaged ligiments at Plymouth last Friday (7th) and will miss 2-3 weeks . Nothing more entertaining than that i'm afraid . Erm no
  14. I enjoyed yesterday's meeting , and got the hangover to prove it . Though as has been a constant theme throughout this season , the rain tried it's level best to ruin things . Berwick fought hard and looked capable of getting something from the meeting , but Son of God and James Grieves with 5-1's in heats 13 and 15 soon prevented that happening . Son of God was superb , surely it's about time he stopped messing around and claimed his birthright by wearing the Tigers number 1 racejacket permanently . Tigers never really had a weak link though , well Sitera apart , and it was nice to finish the home league campaign with 3 points . For the Bandits Bellego and Alden started like a train , but fell away towards the end of the meeting . Was well impressed with Barrett , Berwick looked to have stumbled onto a good'un there . Just 3 away meetings to go now , starting with the House of Fun on Friday .
  15. Last home league meeting of the season this coming Sunday , but it gives us a chance to enjoy the riding of ( possibly ) 5 of last year's 9 riders we used in our title winning campaign . Joe Screen picked up a knee injury at Plymouth last night , so his participation is very doubtful . But James Grieves and Josh Grajczonek will take up their usual places in the Tigers' side , whilst the Bandits will have Nick Morris guesting again for them and David Bellego is the other title winning Tiger on view . Henning Bager must also be a doubt after missing Plymouth last night , following his groin injury sustained last week . While this has been a hugely disappointing and worrying season after the joy of 2011 , it would be good to finish with 3 points . Our visitors have had a nightmare season with injuries , but will still track a septet capable of giving us problems . Sunday's teams are - Glasgow Tigers 1 Son of God ( guest ) 2 Mason Campton 3 Josh Grajczonek 4 Henning Bager or R/R 5 James Grieves 6 Charles Wright 7 Filip Sitera Berwick Bandits 1 Nick Morris ( g) 2 David Bellego 3 Nikki Barrett 4 Robin Aspegren 5 Seb Alden 6 Micky Dyer 7 Klaus Jakobsen Impossible to predict how this will go , as the Glasgow line-up is still unsure . But at least it's forecast to be drier than the last time the Bandits were due in town . Late flash . Joe Screen wont make it tomorrow . Son of God is his replacement . A Lawson wearing the number 1 racejacket for the Tigers ......................oh the memories
  16. They haven't not qualified yet , so don't congratulate yourself just yet
