Pipe down Geoffrey. How many accounts have you got on here by the way? One account with your drivel is more than enough.

They haven’t sacked a couple of Brits so get back in your box. -
Birmingham v Ipswich Mon 27th May PL
Aries replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bloody hell, the easiest fixture for Ipswich on paper and you could now probably write this one off! What Ipswich and the injured riders should guard against, is being tempted to return too early because of the situation. The worse thing you could do is rush a return and aggravate the injuries and face a longer spell on the sidelines. Heard King is pushing to return possibly Thursday, not sure myself.. -

Think you’re being a bit reactionary to Thursdays poor performance. And yes, it was a dreadful performance but to be fair to the lad, that’s the first real stinker he’s had. Over all meetings last year, Rew averaged 4.43 with a GSA of 3.74. This season so far, he’s averaging 5.51 with a GSA of 4.76. While not pulling up any trees by any means, he’s averaging just over a point more so far than last year so definite signs of improvement. -

I edited my post it’s not 4 years because there’s two fixtures a year, so only two year! Not too bad -
King’s Lynn vs Ipswich - Thurs 23rd May
Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Alright no need to get prickly! LOL. Just hard to believe that stat that’s all. No cup meetings so for 2 years you’ve lost at home to your nearest rivals? Have you lost both meetings for the last two years against anyone else? -

Ipswich have won their last 4 visits to Lynn is that right? That’s a bit embarrassing to say the least to lose your last 4 home meetings to your local rivals! -
King’s Lynn vs Ipswich - Thurs 23rd May
Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There’s next to no rain forecast for Sheffield between now and the meeting tomorrow. Certainly nothing that would put the meeting in danger. Same for this fixture. Nothing forecast so if it were to be postponed it would have by now. -
King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An awful lot of promotors have their clubs as their sole source of income. If you believe the narrative that they all lose money running them because “of their true love of the sport” then you also probably believe in the tooth fairy. -
King’s Lynn vs Sheffield, May 16th 2024
Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Possibly, I’ve no idea to be honest as I don’t fly. Like I say, if that’s a concern to a promotion then don’t sign any foreign based riders. Many clubs fly riders in from abroad but don’t call off meetings a day or more before meetings. I’d say there’s a caveat to that though if the forecast is for a complete washout. Even though forecasts change it’s doubtful they’d change that much if the forecast is for heavy rain all day. Birmingham called their meeting the day before the other day but that one you could understand more as the forecast was terrible. -

Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A perfect example of forecasts being totally unreliable until the actual day. If every club is going to start postponing meetings every time there is a ropey forecast 24 hours or more the meeting then it would cause chaos to the sport here. @Bagpuss makes the point about the expense of flying riders in from abroad if a meeting gets postponed but if that is a concern to promotions then the simple answer is don’t sign any! Sign a team of British based riders. -
King’s Lynn vs Sheffield, May 16th 2024
Aries replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Come off it Kelvin you’re making excuses to defend your club and your promotion. It isn’t currently the “right call” at all, and people need to stop using that after rain hits as a way of justifying such an early call off. If it pi$$es down all day tomorrow it still won’t justify calling it off more than 24 hours beforehand on a ropey forecast. As has already been said, what is the harm in waiting until tomorrow morning when the forecast will be much more accurate? At the moment, forecast is for rain to end around 2 o clock leaving 5 and a half hours for the track to dry and be worked on. Are the track staff not capable of doing that? Again as has already been said, if rain is forecast pack the track down hard to limit the damage giving you plenty of time to get it in to shape before 7.30. -

This in a nutshell. It seems as if all the stars have to align perfectly for a meeting to go ahead. Perfect weather, every single rider available etc. all just looks a very tired set up to me. -
Sheffield vs Ipswich 13th May
Aries replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wouldn’t bother. He’s hanging on to his “we beat Ipswich on aggregate” for dear life. He’s mentioned it numerous times on various threads. It’s as if he knows Belle Vue aren’t looking as strong this year and he’s feeling a bit insecure about their chances. I mean, they did lose at Birmingham! -

We’re 7 weeks in to the season, seven, Sheffield have just lost their first meeting at home to an excellent side, and already the panic has set in and riders and now fans are calling for changes?? They’re still sitting 3rd in the table with two meetings in hand over the two teams above them, and are almost certainly going to be in the play off lottery at the end of the season. Why the rush? We’re in mid May! I just don’t get it. -

If Howarth was poor last year as well then why sign him again this year? Their fault! No rules broken but it’s not in the spirit of things is it? It makes a mockery of it IMO. When you end up with a totally different side in September to which you started with in March. Not sure you can get much satisfaction by picking up a trophy with a “pick n mix” side all wearing race jackets over their own Kevlars because you’ve strategically swapped riders in and out to get an advantage. Some are just desperate to win and don’t care how they go about it, fair enough that’s up to them. I personally like to have an affiliation with the riders and team over the course of a season rather than have a team cobbled together late in the season in a desperate attempt to pinch the trophy you never looked like winning. It makes team building during the 6 month off season pretty pointless. Each to their own. -

Oh here we go! The Hokey Cokey at Owlerton starting early this year? What are we, 7 weeks in to the season? And you’re already calling for riders to be sacked! How about giving them a couple of months at least to iron out any issues? Jenkins at Ipswich could hardly buy a point in either league first few weeks of the season, but is slowly starting to get his act together. Give riders just a bit of time before calling for their heads ffs -

You’re right, can’t argue. I understand why they’ve been brought in and it’s a necessary evil unfortunately. -

A reason I don’t like the play offs either. Be the best team all year only to get done by the “Hokey Cokey” Tigers or someone else who makes a Robert Lambert sized tactical move just before the cut off! I’ve always said, that every team has had all winter to get their team building right. If it turns out you’ve made a pigs ear of it a month in, tough. You should only be able to make a signing to replace an injured rider, IMO. -

Think Doyle was suffering a bit of a hangover (not literally I don’t think!) tonight after the euphoria of the GP at the weekend. As he says it’s been a whirlwind few days. Difficult to then get yourself back up for a league fixture a couple of days later. No doubt he was trying as he always does! But it can be difficult and I half thought he might not be at his best tonight. -
Sheffield vs Ipswich 13th May
Aries replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not the actual Ipswich 1-7 you haven’t. Doyle rarely drops a point at Foxhall but Nicholls only scored 7 and they still beat you by 12. At the NSS Doyle again was missing and his replacement Wright scored 3 so it’s a bit misleading. You also lost at Birmingham (Ipswich won’t) and you failed to do what Ipswich have just done here last week at Sheffield. Ipswich are a stronger side than Belle Vue as the table shows. -
Sheffield vs Ipswich 13th May
Aries replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So would the Ipswich top two in fairness. They’re far better than 8 a piece. As for the reserves, Rew and Jenkins are simply better riders than the Sheffield pairing tonight so it’s harsh to expect them to step up this evening. Howarth on the other hand was the big disappointment. Has to do much better. -

Interesting interview with Emil conceding that he’s still having issues and they’re struggling for answers. It’s gonna happen sooner rather than later. Ipswich clear at the top when he hasn’t got going so when he does get his machinery sorted, they’ll be nigh on unbeatable. -
