  1. Understandable from the new boy, but I’d be far more disappointed in Iversen for the same reason. A win and paid win in his first two, then only one more point from his last three rides.
  2. Absolutely hate the use of a tactical for the home side. It’s difficult enough as it is to win away from home, tacticals should be either the away side only, or none at all.
  3. Ipswich still have the Riss effect though so probably not.
  4. I find that offensive. I still attend meetings up and down the country and still thoroughly enjoy it. I don’t consider myself a “gullible fool” either.
  5. Is it me or does Riss look way too heavy? Seen more meat on a butchers knife than the majority or riders, but Riss looks at least a stone too heavy to me.
  6. I can’t listen to him anymore so I mute the TV and have the radio on at the same time. It’s obviously not the same but it’s the only way I can watch it.
  7. You can add me to the non cricket fan list. Caught a bit whilst channel flicking and when the cameras panned around the crowd there’s people there sipping their pimms and reading books. Tells you everything really.
  8. Just looked at the table and the incentive is certainly there for the Witches. A win will see them overtake Sheffield and in to the play off places, albeit having ridden a match more. Lose this and that looks like game set and match for the top 4.
  9. Think Ipswich will do better than last time out. They were beaten by 12 last month with Barker and Rew scoring 2 between them, Rew a big fat zero. You’d expect a better return from Rew and now Riss this time around whilst the top 3 will again accumulate the bulk of the points. Sheffield for the win, but with Ipswich defending a 12 point lead, Ipswich for the bonus point.
  10. Give over. He’ll know EVERYTHING that is going on at Peterborough, he’ll just be more honest about it.
  11. Got to fancy Wolves here. Zach Cook was exceptional there last time out and clearly took to the track like a duck to water. Nicholls definitely strengthens them, and then you’ve got Masters and Schlein who go very well here also. Witches have too many flaky riders bar the top two. Rew has shown he can go quite well at Foxhall, but he also shown more often that he’s pants. Hume can get a race win against Bewley, but then run a couple of lasts losing to rising stars. Question marks remain also on Riss. Away win for me.
  12. People aren’t seriously paying attention to who scored what in a testimonial meeting surely?
  13. What do you mean “just a pot in the Cupboard”? It’s sport, that’s what it’s all about isn’t it? I’ve already conceded the financial part, as far as I know there’s no financial gain from winning it, but it’s still not “pointless” or “worthless” is it? I don’t understand some of you who downplay winning a league title. Whether it’s football, cricket, tiddlywinks or Speedway, if it’s your club you want to see them successful surely? And I think it IS important as far as sponsorship goes. I remember reading pre-season the thoughts of Chris Louis who said how lucky he was that the club was very well backed by excellent sponsors, but those sponsors want to be associated with a successful club, not failure and he has to deliver for them as well as the fans. Ask Guy Nicholls if Ipswich winning the league is important to him.
  14. I’ll give you the financial reward part, but not the others. What I find “baffling” here is you’re a Belle Vue supporter! I guess you were at the bar and missed the euphoria from fans, riders, team manager and everyone connected to Belle Vue when they finally clinched the title after so many years? This isn’t the first time you’ve claimed winning the title is pointless, it’s anything but.
  15. Because he wasn’t the original choice as rising star. They’d already forked out for one for Thomas which was wasted and I suspect they half expected Joe wouldn’t be a permanent solution so can’t really blame them for not getting another set. I doubt Dan Thompson will get a suit either.
  16. Connor Bailey is also on the rising star list and would do a better job. All three of them couldn’t have said no surely? If it’s a case of Louis just not wanting either Kemp or Rowe for whatever reason, then you have to decide whether you want to be stubborn or actually win something. Might explain why Ipswich haven’t won anything under Louis’ promotion.
  17. Well they’re risking their season because another home defeat tonight could be curtains for their play off places. Pressure on Rew to win heat 2 just to get a shared heat, because the likelihood is Thompson is coming last! When you have to have one of the weaker number 6’s in the league because you’ve gone so top heavy, you at least need to then get one of the stronger rising stars, and as harsh as it is, Ipswich have the worst.
  18. Isn’t this the one track everyone said Thompson will score a few points on as he knows it so well? 4 rides and one gifted point when his teammate fell is pathetic. What on earth are the Ipswich management waiting for? It’s getting bizarre how long they’re sticking with him.
  19. Because maybe nobody has spoken to Louis yet. Wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world would it? Thought it was a post from Peterborough themselves but just looked and it’s BSN so you’re probably right. Probably waiting until the Tungate deal is rubber stamped before making the announcement.
  20. Perhaps Ipswich have told them to remove it.
  21. I did say injuries are not unexpected in this sport, any team can lose a rider to injury at any point we all know that. Losing a rider like Ipswich have to illness is as unlucky as it gets.
  22. I’ll be here for this one. Looking forward to it.
  23. Ipswich have been unlucky though, Lynn haven’t. When building teams with top end power and weak bottom ends you suffer badly when running rider replacement for a second string when that bottom end then has to take 10 rides between them. Losing a rider to injury isn’t unexpected in this sport, but losing one to illness is terribly unlucky whichever way you slice it. Barker is now a better alternative to R/R but he’s a 4 and half pointer replacing a 6 pointer so isn’t the long term answer either. Jack Thomas at rising star looks an even bigger miss the longer the season goes on!
  24. Well not what I was expecting tonight! Some decent racing in patches.
