  1. Others have lived in the UK and not ridden our league and chosen Poland, Sweden and Denmark. Not sure why there’s a sudden discussion arguing against a world class rider being so loyal to Speedway in this country and finding reasons why that is the case. But then they do seem to be coming from Norfolk way so that probably explains it. How many as good and in demand as him, that is a regular in the GP, has chosen to ride in the UK over the years? He’s in a tiny tiny minority and we’ve been lucky to have him here full stop. Jack Holder to be fair to him, is showing a similar level of loyalty so far.
  2. Have you made the £50 donation to the Benevolent fund for the bet you lost Joe?
  3. Rew 15 max, and was winning at a canter in the final before dropping it entering the third lap. Harry Ryan 14, and Tate Zischke 13. Michael West was sixth highest scorer with 9 points.
  4. What a weird little thing to have a whinge about! Did you even read it? He says “We are looking to announce the team immediately. It is an exciting team and one we will enjoy working with and we were settled on it quite quickly by the end of the season and I am sure the fans will be delighted with it”. So now the information will be passed on to the webmaster (who probably has a full time job) to write up seven rider articles in readiness for the reveal on the official website in the coming days! What’s the issue here?
  5. One of the worlds best?? LOL give over. I wouldn’t touch him on his current average either.
  6. You’re correct, Dan Thompson did outperform both Gilkes and Edwards last year, comfortably better than Edwards in particular. Ipswich’ number 6 will be the pivotal signing for them and determine which of the two sides look to have the longer tail. If Rew is included at Ipswich, it will also depend on how much if any progress he makes this coming season. I personally think Rew will up his current 4 point average more than Howarth will up his current average but time will tell on that one.
  7. At first glance, looks a good side. But looking again, those averages look about right to me and I’m not sure where the improvement is coming from? Whichever of the rising stars they go for at 6 is going to struggle also.
  8. Just been told it was Ipswich who had the 13 meetings apologies. Knew I’d seen it somewhere. I don’t get why all clubs can’t come to an agreement of season tickets prices and admission costs. Clubs offering differing packages seems a bit off.
  9. Admission gone up another quid to £23. Season tickets also available, but just for the 12 premiership fixtures. I maybe wrong, but didn’t last years season tickets cover 12 Premiership fixtures and 1 KOC fixture? Making this years worse value?
  10. Well someone obviously wants to sign three Ekstraliga riders otherwise why get that rule binned? I’d suggest you’re right and Rew is in alongside Emil and Doyle.
  11. So you get on your high horse about a thread being derailed by football, and then proceed to discuss football in the very same post? LOL
  12. Not at Ipswich apparently, and could well be both not either/or..
  13. What boils my pi$$ is why wait so long before having these conferences? Why can’t the conference be done 24 hours after the final meeting of the season? Does someone say “nah we’ll wait for 3 weeks until mid November sometime”? Poland as usual, professional, done and dusted and clubs completing their line ups for 2024!
  14. I’d be surprised but we’ll see. I’d heard Brennan to Ipswich was nailed on along with Emil and Doyle. So not sure where Ellis fits there but again we’ll see.
  15. Who cares? Rules are there to be bent/broken seemingly so just sign him anyway.
  16. Musielak contacted Louis for a team place. Whether anything evolved from that or whether he was told there was no room at the inn, I have no idea.
  17. I’ve heard the same. Also, he’ll have a new team in the Premiership also..
  18. He won’t get chopped mid season either! The kind of loyalty the Ipswich promotion showed to riders (particularly Riss) this year won’t have gone unnoticed I’m sure.
  19. Where has this Ellis to Ipswich rumour come from? Surely not Doyle giving him a lift? Lol. Gotta love silly season.
  20. Sayfutdinov, Doyle, the Holders, Fricke, B Kurtz, probably Bewley, probably Woffinden, POSSIBLY Lindgren as well. I can’t believe the majority wouldn’t prefer to sacrifice their traditional race day to see these riders around WR. There’ll be some who wouldn’t sure, but I’d be interested in a poll to see who would rather a watered down Championship on traditional Wednesday’s, or change race night and see world class riders back in the top flight.
  21. There’s two points between them. Rew on a 4.00 would be a far superior signing than Cook on a 6.00. Cook has done very well this year don’t get me wrong, but in the long run Rew is a far bigger talent and will go on to be a much better rider IMO. Why would Ipswich not use Rew though? Sign him on a 5.00, give him a bedding in year to learn the tracks, and then not retain him on a point less? Makes no sense from an Ipswich perspective. Rew has struggled at times hence his average, but has also shown flashes of his undoubted ability. He’ll kick on next year.
