Then the “rumour” you talk of about of an ex promoter being interested to take over will come to nothing also then. If this ex promoter DOES take over, then that will prove Buster actually wasn’t asking too much and the purple man was never serious to begin with. A lot of things seem to make little sense here.

Pretty comprehensive that. No surprise that those tiny minority in the “right call” camp have shown a previous dislike of Jason Doyle. Not that their judgment is in any way clouded of course! -
Why someone else? Thought Tomalin was THE knight in shining armor? Ok if it turns out to be a “rumour” and nothing more than that, but if someone else steps in and takes over it’ll prove some of you Panthers fans were taken in hook line and sinker by a second hand car salesman.

Ipswich v Peterborough KOC semi final Thursday 11th May
Aries replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really enjoyable meeting I thought with some good racing. BSN doing a great job with the streams. Rew looks a very talented rider, if he continues to improve and provides this sort of scoring to back up Doyle Emil and King then Ipswich are going to take some stopping. -

You’ve gotta love Jason Doyle. British Speedway legend. Not many treat OUR league with respect like he does. He even turned up last night for a challenge at Poole where it didn’t matter a jot, and still rode his heart out to a full 15 point max. What a servant he’s been and we’ll all miss him when he’s gone. Can’t see others at the top table that does what he does here. We should all get behind him at the GP’s!- 273 replies

Shame from a Poole perspective they couldn’t get Rew’s signature. Looks miles ahead of the Cook’s talent wise. A few meetings around here and he’d be scoring bucket loads in the championship.
-
I have a hard time accepting that anyone can genuinely believe that a pit gate was damaged by stocks on a Monday, that would then cause a postponement of the Speedway on the Thursday because a part they needed wouldn’t conveniently arrive til the following day on the Friday. If there is anyone who seriously believes that then they probably also believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.

Really not a good look for old Buster is it? Quite shocking really when you read all of his previous shenanigans like that.
-
LOL gullible in the extreme. Those that know, know.

I’m not against an early call off based on a weather forecast, but again, at least wait until the morning of the meeting to get a much more accurate forecast. Are we now at a stage where we’re all accepting and happy for meetings being postponed more than 24 hours in advance based on a ropey forecast? Never used to happen.
-
It was a bad forecast, but the decision was made more than 24 hours before the meeting. Every man and his dog knows how the forecast changes throughout the day. It’s always more accurate on the day, so if the forecast was still the same early this morning (which it wasn’t it had obviously changed) then they could still have made an early call off to save people from travelling.

It would have been one ride for Howarth, and 3 rides for Hume/Thompson. I wouldn’t say that strengthened exactly. Yes Rew has made a slow start here, but he’s getting better by the week. That’s obvious surely? They’re missing two important riders. They have a much better chance when Pickering is back at reserve who’ll be a serious weapon there around Lynn. I’d say no probably about it. How anyone can seriously buy that guff is unbelievable!

Premiership Pairs 2023 - Wolverhampton 15th May
Aries replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I actually prefer a one off winner on the night event than what they’d planned previously. It should have been a round at every track like last year so all clubs get a home leg, but if that wasn’t possible, this is a better alternative than giving three clubs a home track advantage and not the others. Only thing I’d have like to see changed is the venue. Nothing against Leicester, but they’re in the competition themselves so it’s still one club getting a home advantage. Couldn’t they have picked a neutral track in the Championship? Birmingham for example? It would also give a championship club’s fans the opportunity to see the likes of Emil and Doyle amongst others. -
It took Louis literally months to wade through all the red tape for Emil, starting in early November and finally getting all clearance in early March. Why would Laguta be any different? If Leicester do announce Laguta and he can ride straight away, it’ll be interesting to know when they actually started the process of signing him. If it was months ago, then the plan along along must have been for Fricke or Harris to be a temporary signing.

That’s the whole idea of having more than one account. No point doing it if you’re going to post in the same style. One account to play the serious poster card, and another to act the forum pr!ck.
-
You know they are, Flappy.
-
LOL that’s rich coming from you! Do you want me to dig up all your pre-season posts from the vaults where you were championing his signing shouting from the rooftops that he was “a very good shrewd signing” that you were very happy with, even posting up his eye catching scores from the previous season to back up your comments?? Are you going to reply with this account, or log out and log in to your Basso account to throw in a laughing emoji?
-
That’s exactly what you and Flappy were predicting him to be this year at the start of the season. “One of the real big guns” wasn’t it? Now after a poor start you’re making excuses. Oh I bet they’ll be devastated about that!

Ipswich V Kings Lynn May 1st
Aries replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Always wondered what happened to him! Travelling down for this and setting off early so any weather updates appreciated. I expect this to be close as well especially if Craig Cook is at reserve. Hume was poor again for Redcar last night and despite having the odd cracking ride for Ipswich here and there, just hasn’t really got going yet. Klindt has shown a liking for Foxhall in the past as has KK. If they find form Ipswich will be in bother cos Cookie is a certainty to rack up the points at reserve. -
Birmingham v Redcar bsn Wednesday
Aries replied to Petecc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He did indeed ride but regretted it. He’s suffering from some sort of brain fog and dizziness that they can’t get to the bottom of. He thought he was improving slightly so gave it a go for Germany, but the same issues reared up again and he struggled to hang on to the bike. He could be missing for a while. -
Of course you don’t! LOL nobody has to watch them to know that Craig Cook is a better rider than Ben Cook. Your bias towards anything related to Poole is literally off the scale and the reason anything you post regarding them can’t be taken seriously.

Ipswich v Belle Vue 13th April
Aries replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I find Hume quite frustrating. He needs to find more consistency because he has it in his locker to be a very handy rider. He can have dreadful rides and then pull the odd cracker out of the bag once or twice a meeting. He’s done it this season a few times already. Much more consistency needed. -

Emil still ended up with a couple of heat victories. Laguta never won a race, a second and four third places. People get far too hung up on what happens in Poland, there’s ridiculous quality in almost every race! -
The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
Aries replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well it isn’t is it, things have changed on that front unless you’ve missed it? Phil Morris isn’t god, and of course he can’t stop clubs from closing. Wasn’t the same things said last year regarding Peterborough? It seems that every year for the last few it’s going to be the “last one”. Let’s just wait and see IF it is to be the case this time, and also if Tomalin is good for his word on finding another site IF the worst happens. Wolves has literally come out of the blue, but again it isn’t cut and dried is it? Let’s just wait and see. Depends what kind of person you are, you can be a glass half empty or a glass half full kind of person. I personally prefer to wait until things actually happen before running around like my hair is on fire. “You can only push clubs and merge leagues until a point where it become unsustainable..and we’re not far away from that” I’ll bet you’re wrong here. In ten years time there will still be a British League Speedway of some sort. No idea what it’ll look like, but there will be a British League. -
The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
Aries replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another defeatist! What’s wrong with you lot? This forum is a cesspit of complete misery!! You can wave the white flag and stop going if you like, but there’s plenty of good speedway I’m looking forward to attending in both leagues this year and I’m sure there’s thousands of others across the country that feel the same. It’s not a case of “burying head in the sand” as someone put it, far from it I acknowledge the difficulties some are facing and it’s concerning. But there was real enthusiasm before the season started and despite doubts over the longer term future of Peterborough and now Wolves, neither club have folded and it’s as you were as far as this season’s league set up is concerned so why do people think everyone should now just throw in the towel? It’s bizarre. If the worst does happen with those clubs then the relevant people will deal with that if and when that arises. If that means pushing another club or two in to the top flight, or merging the two in to one big league who knows, but life is short and none of us who post on here even know if we’ll be here this time next year! Live for today, smile, and worry about what happens next year and beyond when the time comes. You never know, it might not end up as bad as you think!
