  1. But you could also say this about another fancied side in Sheffield. You could argue Grajczonek, Howarth, Todd Kurtz and Bates have also "found their level"? That's four of their top 5. They've all been on similar averages for a few years now. Bates is seen as an excellent signing but in three years he's averaged, 3.53, 5.58 and 5.02. On top of that he's publicly said he doesn't want to be there. I'm not saying I don't rate Sheffield as I definitely think they'll be in the mix as I think Bjerre is the big average improver and they have talented youth at reserve, but there's question marks in every single team named.
  2. Agree. Never wanted a rider to succeed as much as I did Paco bless him.
  3. I hope it isn't! He's one I wanted back at Foxhall next year he averaged just under 7 the season before last. He definitely has an average increase in him which as we all know is the name of the game.
  4. Crackng looking side that. Does it fit? Even with the two 2 pointers it still looks a little hefty..
  5. Agree with this. I avoid the diner on the first bend but the second bend fish and chips is pretty good.
  6. Nothing we didn't already know in the Star today. Just mainly about the release of Barker and him being "Gutted" that he isn't being kept on as he loves the club, fans and track and thought he done enough to earn a place next year. Louis feeling sorry for him but the usual numbers game excuse and he had a decision to make which he took. Whole 1-7 hoping to be announced in next 2-3 weeks.
  7. In tomorrow's @ipswichstar24 it's @chrislouisIWSC team latest @ipswichspeedway Tweet from Mike Bacon.
  8. Jack Holder gets a thumbs up from me also. But I suspect he gets the thumbs up from most supporters elsewhere and the lad won't be short of offers.
  9. Louis clearly knows his team then and must be pretty advanced already in putting it together otherwise you'd think he'd keep as many options available as possible.
  10. For what it's worth, Chris Louis has just confirmed to me on twitter that Danyon Hume and other new assessed riders will indeed be a 2.00, not a 3.00.
  11. Listening to CL tonight, it definitely seems as though both Hume and Mountain will be a 2.00 and at least one if not both of them will be in the team. King also sounded a shoe in to be back. Also said he hopes to have the team done and dusted in the next 2-3 weeks so not long to wait.
  12. Fear not. Reading the thoughts of Louis and Hawkins on the website on this year and next, seems certain it's PL again.
  13. Hopefully the #7 rule from this year stays as that would give us an advantage over most but if not I agree with you, I'd have Hume at 7 no matter what. That's if he's fully recovered from his shoulder operation. His attempted comeback it seems was ill advised as he aggravated it and now looks like a winter op is needed so fingers crossed all goes well. I don't mind Risager either to be honest. He does a job and has been pretty consistent but I'm not sure I go along with the "every team needs a Morten" theory..
  14. Think that was pure fantasy on behalf of one individual Baldy and was never actually on the cards! http://www.ipswichwitches.co/witches/#ChrisLouis Interesting thoughts from Louis and Hawkins on the season and a summary of each riders performances, and a brief look to next year. Almost certainly looks like PL, and judging by the comments from the two above, I'd say the team will almost certainly contain Hume, and Risager!!
  15. There's a lot of work being carried out at the stadium in the winter also I believe, with the home straight stand being pulled down and work done on that area and first bend so a lot of work all round it seems.
  16. It's all subjective when it comes to tracks. You will always have those that prefer big fast tracks even if it produces little passing. Personally I prefer to see a good track shape that provides good entertainment over a bigger fast track that doesn't. Plymouth is only 216 metres in length, but IMO that provides far better racing that I've seen, than much bigger tracks such as Berwick and Sheffield. Full credit to Chris Louis for not just sitting on what he has, and making the effort to improve the racing at Foxhall. I know the work done previously was far more complicated and difficult than he realised at the time, so good on him for tackling it again this winter in the hopes of producing a better racing strip.
  17. Not sure why Baldy has come in for some stick on here lately because it's undeserved IMO. Firstly as has been pointed out, he spends a shed load of his hard earned travelling up and down the country SUPPORTING the Witches so he's more than entitled to post his views positive or negative. Secondly, there's hardly been anything to post positively about the Witches this season has there? It's been a diabolical season up to now and there's no point sugar coating it.
  18. Not sure if anyone else has a Sigalos avatar on here as I very rarely frequent this forum anymore, but I assume you're referring to me here? Firstly, there has been about 40 odd pages since I last visited the forum on this thread, I'm certainly not that interested these days to be trawling through every one of them to see if there's something relevant that I may have missed. Through work and family commitments I've lost interest in speedway to a degree, but still attend one or two a season and keep in touch of results etc via the Ipswich Star. I had a peek on here yesterday to see a few hinting at something changing that I genuinely had no idea about. One or two have been helpful in their replies, (thank you), whilst you have replied with a pompous and condescending post. And the "one of them has a Sigalos image as their avatar, surprises me not...." What the fu ck is that supposed to mean you complete and utter prick?
  19. Well I'm another who seems to be out of the loop here! I'm guessing this has something to do with Guy Nicholls at Trucks 'R' Us?
  20. CL has confirmed on twitter that Kerr will be riding for Lakeside. So what do we have to play with in terms of a guest?
  21. I know we haven't even started the 2016 season yet, but could the promotion have a big decision to make next winter regarding 2017? It seems that fixed race nights in the EL will come in to force next year, with one of those nights rumoured to be Thursday's. Do we stick with PL and change our regular race night which we've had since the 50's, or twist and rejoin the EL? Or maybe they'll finally try the one big league again? Next winter will be interesting.
  22. Having just seen the absolute state of yours, I'll take ours all day long ta
