https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-guide-leicester-h-3/ Waiting on fitness update on Ellis. Will be “R/R or guest” (obviously 😂) if he doesn’t make it. R/R for me of the two options personally. Win or lose with our team.

I honestly don’t see the big deal here and think some people are overreacting. They’ve done all the team meetings in huddles etc etc. you don’t do that constantly throughout the build up to the meeting, and throughout the entire meeting do you? You’ll have moments where riders will be sitting alone in their pit chairs while their mechanics go to work. What are they supposed to do in those quiet moments? Sit and stare in to space? Some riders like to have a look on their phone to help them relax and relieve a bit of pressure. I don’t see the big issue. If they were doing it instead of joining in a team meeting then fair enough but I don’t think that was the case was it. Let’s be honest, your manager just had the hump because the meeting didn’t start the way he’d like. But it was still very early when he had his little rant and it was ill advised IMO. Quite possibly ruined any good positive atmosphere they had.

I’m not sure that was the smartest thing to do in all honesty. Publicly having a pop at your riders on live TV isn’t going to have a great impact on team spirit IMO. More likely to have pis sed them off. I’m not convinced that doesn’t happen in every pits either. We only knew about it because Dickson told us. Wouldn’t mind betting that a few on the other side of the pits were doing exactly the same. He can be a bit over dramatic for me your manager.

They’re split second decisions though for a rider. He had his wheels in line and opened the throttle and was making a pass. Stick or twist? Keep it pinned and make a pass in a grand final, or shut off and lose the opportunity. To be fair track was a little tricky early doors, quite deep and heavy. Had that been later in the meeting when it dried and slickened off a bit more, he could have made that move stick. Certainly don’t blame the boy for giving it a go.

It SHOULD be, but after the way things went against us the last couple of years, don’t think any of us are counting our chickens! Ellis is an issue. Can be covered ok away, not so much at home especially when Dan has admitted he hasn’t enjoyed riding at Foxhall recently and has been struggling here. That could be a ray of hope for Leicester. They did win by four earlier in the season, but with the caveat of us missing Doyle and Thompson with R/R and Hume accumulating seven points for the two of them. A fast start will calm any nerves.

Agree. Especially with Dan at reserve who can clock up the rides. We know Dan rides Leicester well. What we can’t afford to do, is have Brennan strapped up and “giving it a go”. He’s our biggest threat in the middle order, and a struggling Brennan pottering around at the back struggling to hang on for a ride or two COULD ultimately cost us a league title. Every point will count here. He needs to be 100% or pretty damn close to it otherwise go with R/R.

Madsen didn’t move out off the inside line did he? What else was he supposed to do there? Harsh -

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Aries replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Much better version of what I said the other day on this. It isn’t just a small handful of 8/9 point riders that would be missing, it’s a hell of a lot more than that. It’s completely unworkable! -

You see I don’t get this argument and I never have. When doubling up, you’re not riding for two teams that are in direct competition with each other are you? They’re in completely different leagues. Going by this reasoning, riders shouldn’t be riding for another club in Poland, Sweden or Denmark either? What is the difference? Chris Harris for example rides for Kings Lynn and Glasgow. Kings Lynn and Glasgow are not rivals/competitors because they ride in completely different Leagues. What’s the issue? Guests are far worse because you’re borrowing riders from a direct rival you’re competing against. -
It isn’t just those teams that will be disadvantaged is it. Any club that has a big hitter that visits these tracks on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, will also be either running rider replacement for their top rider, or an insufficient guest. I say insufficient, because all the other top riders will be missing and riding in Poland also so a guest will be one of a lesser quality therefore weakling their side. It just won’t work unless weekend clubs change their race night which I’m not sure any of them would willingly do. One of the biggest bugbear of fans seems to be guests but if you run one league and let clubs keep their weekend race night, then it would become even worse! It isn’t just the top boys that ride in Poland either is it. It’s unworkable.
