  1. Such a nice lad is Dan. One of speedway’s real good guys. Never met anyone with a bad word to say about him.
  2. It could be the most average meeting you’ve ever seen, but a crowd and atmosphere like that just makes a world of difference doesn’t it. The gate receipts last night will have helped Louis no end and good on him. He could have built less expensive teams over the last few years and saved himself some cash but he’s used every bit of help from the sponsors to push the boat out and recruit the best team he could so he deserves that money spinner last night.
  3. Well we got there in the end! Well done boys. Fricke was superb.
  4. Jenkins has beaten bigger and better riders than Becker the last couple of seasons. Seems some have short memories. The stats don’t lie and Edwards isn’t better than Jenkins on any metric. Anyway, Edwards is now in the team and Jenkins isn’t so it’s all a moot point really. Hopefully Edwards has a good meeting tomorrow and contributes! I’m sure he will.
  5. You’re right he did. He asked him to “take a look at it” but he didn’t wanna know.
  6. I’m getting Egon Muller vibes in 83 here. For those old enough to remember 😁
  7. https://ipswichwitches.co/mayor-of-ipswich-to-attend-play-off-final-at-foxhall/ We’re even wheeling out the ol Mayor on Thursday! Reading that, it’s all a bit too presumptuous for me. Leicester have a golden opportunity to do the funniest thing ever here 😁
  8. Interestingly, looking at their 2025 averages covering all meetings, Ellis and Rew have an identical average of 6.78. Only difference is their 2025 GSA which has Ellis on 5.84, and Rew on 6.15.
  9. Ipswich 1/14 Leicester 8/1. Might chuck down 20 notes on Leicester at those prices! Hedge my bets so at least I’m compensated if we balls it up on Thursday 😁
  10. I’m with you here. He was part of the heartbreak the last two years when everything seemed to go wrong for us so really pleased he gets the chance to help us try and see the job through this time.
  11. He was slow to get going this year, but whenever I’ve been checking his scores during the second half of the season, he seemed to be Birmingham’s most consistent rider? Maybe I’m wrong you’ve been watching Birmingham far closer than me this year. Anyway, if we were going the guest route Rew was the one I wanted. Pretty sure he still has last years Ipswich kevlars too!
  12. Have I? Don’t think I have.. Edit: apologies! Just seen it right at the bottom. How’d it get that far down the page? 😂
  13. In the same team as Brennan? Don’t think that’s a great idea myself. R/R for me, or Rew if he fits. At least would seem more of an Ipswich team. Edit: Well actually first preference is Ellis! Hasn’t been ruled out yet. Maybe a few days rest and he’s fit enough to take his place on Thursday 🤞🏻
  14. TBF I think that was just @AceBelle! If there’s to be a sting in the tail and the unthinkable happens on Thursday, I’m sure we’ll all see him suddenly awaken from his coma 😁
  15. https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-guide-leicester-h-3/ Waiting on fitness update on Ellis. Will be “R/R or guest” (obviously 😂) if he doesn’t make it. R/R for me of the two options personally. Win or lose with our team.
  16. I honestly don’t see the big deal here and think some people are overreacting. They’ve done all the team meetings in huddles etc etc. you don’t do that constantly throughout the build up to the meeting, and throughout the entire meeting do you? You’ll have moments where riders will be sitting alone in their pit chairs while their mechanics go to work. What are they supposed to do in those quiet moments? Sit and stare in to space? Some riders like to have a look on their phone to help them relax and relieve a bit of pressure. I don’t see the big issue. If they were doing it instead of joining in a team meeting then fair enough but I don’t think that was the case was it. Let’s be honest, your manager just had the hump because the meeting didn’t start the way he’d like. But it was still very early when he had his little rant and it was ill advised IMO. Quite possibly ruined any good positive atmosphere they had.
  17. I’m not sure that was the smartest thing to do in all honesty. Publicly having a pop at your riders on live TV isn’t going to have a great impact on team spirit IMO. More likely to have pis sed them off. I’m not convinced that doesn’t happen in every pits either. We only knew about it because Dickson told us. Wouldn’t mind betting that a few on the other side of the pits were doing exactly the same. He can be a bit over dramatic for me your manager.
  18. They’re split second decisions though for a rider. He had his wheels in line and opened the throttle and was making a pass. Stick or twist? Keep it pinned and make a pass in a grand final, or shut off and lose the opportunity. To be fair track was a little tricky early doors, quite deep and heavy. Had that been later in the meeting when it dried and slickened off a bit more, he could have made that move stick. Certainly don’t blame the boy for giving it a go.
  19. It SHOULD be, but after the way things went against us the last couple of years, don’t think any of us are counting our chickens! Ellis is an issue. Can be covered ok away, not so much at home especially when Dan has admitted he hasn’t enjoyed riding at Foxhall recently and has been struggling here. That could be a ray of hope for Leicester. They did win by four earlier in the season, but with the caveat of us missing Doyle and Thompson with R/R and Hume accumulating seven points for the two of them. A fast start will calm any nerves.
  20. Thought there was some decent racing at times 🤷🏼‍♂️ ok wasn’t a thriller, but there was some good races in there. Wasn’t as good as the Sheffield meeting in the semi, but thought it was better than both semi’s at Foxhall and the NSS. Fingers crossed Adam isn’t too beat up. Been in the wars a bit.
