Kings Lynn vs Ipswich KOC April 13th 7.30pm
Aries replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Pleased to see Scotty contributing. Nobody is expecting double figures from him, but if he can contribute 5/6/7 in the middle order then job done. Think there’s more to come from this team. PHB will surely settle and improve as the meetings go on and once he does, we look very solid if unspectacular. -

Should never be allowed for home teams! Huge bugbear of mine that. -

How has he? He’s simply highlighted something he doesn’t agree with which he’s entitled to do. Who made you judge and jury and decides who can post where and when? Deary me 🙄 -

I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get more than a combined 9 from the two reserves. Have to see how Lawson is too. Apparently had a big off at Scunny last night, limped back to pits then ran a last in his last ride. He’s started the season with a couple of big crashes already and he’s now at an age where these things take a little longer to get over! He’ll be important for us here. Probably matters little in terms of actually winning the Cup. The winners will almost certainly come from the other group IMO. -

Think they’ll start off with a 5-1 this time though if they go with Cook at two again. We should be getting a heat advantage of some sort in heat two though. -

Nice to see the Hawk still showing his love for Lynn as always 😂 -

Agreed, looks just about right to me. Everyone was kind of expecting Fricke to fill his boots, Harris to contribute well, and Castagna and the two reserves to contribute little. -

Yeah what the hell was that all about? Was shocked when the red lights didn’t come on! They literally ALL seemed to be moving -
So a 10 point lead for the Witches to defend for what could be a crucial aggregate point. Will we hold on? Lawson, King, Musielak and Brennan can all win races here and the reserves SHOULD at least keep us competitive. Wouldn’t bet against a similar score to last night but the other way around. Could be tight for the aggregate point.

Woeful. Kevin is a MASSIVE miss and every effort should be made to try and persuade him to return. -
My first thought was this was gonna pi$$ of everyone at BSPL towers, but what if this actually pulls the others in line and shakes them up a bit? Can’t be a bad thing can it?..

Chapman/Godfrey time to go. We’re forever going to be stuck in this rut of complete rot while these old hands still have an active control. No disrespect to them btw!! They’ve all done their bit and put money in, but we HAVE to move on for the good of this sport in this country. We’re at a crossroads and it’s time to be ruthless.

It doesn’t! I’ve already conceded that. Perhaps I worded that badly. The point I was making, is that it would undoubtedly WILL have an affect on attendance. That’s all I’m concerned about from a selfish point of view. I want to be amongst as many fans as possible from an atmosphere point of view. Was the play off final at Foxhall a thrilling spectacle? No. But the fact it was packed to the rafters made it an occasion that none of us there will forget. If streaming takes a few hundred off the gate, that makes a difference to the meetings day experience. -

https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/23853/ipswich-kings-lynn-premiership-2026 Looking at this it’s difficult to see where his points are going to come from. Possibly heats 7 and 14 against Bangs? Depending on how well (or not) Bangs adapts to the track. -

It’s one party I was hoping we wouldn’t join personally. I understand why they’ve done it, but it WILL affect attendance. Not everyone thinks along the same lines as you as in you’ll “always go to the live meeting”. Many, will choose to save money and watch at home instead. As I say, I understand why they’ve done it. What they lose on the terraces, they’ll probably end up recouping in streaming revenue and possibly even making a profit, but that won’t help the meeting day experience and atmosphere at the track. If you wanted to watch the Witches at Foxhall (barring the odd BSN fixture), then you had no choice but to attend. Now, you DO have a choice, and can save money in to the bargain. -

https://www.mayfield-ms.com/about She is indeed. Seems Chris Louis has walked away from the sport completely then which is sad. Olly Allen is a decent co commentator don’t get me wrong, but Louis was better IMO and seemed to be the regular along with Tatum. -

So we’ve finally joined the others then. Wonder if this was always on the cards for this year under Louis, or whether it’s Mayfield’s own decision. I know people say you can’t beat being there and that’s true no doubt about it, but it HAS to affect attendance doesn’t it? Ok, they’ll probably make up the shortfall monetary wise by having fans of the away team subscribing who had no intention of going anyway, as well as some neutrals, but how many Ipswich fans will be tempted to save a tenna and watch in the comfort of their living rooms instead? Indeed, how many Lynn fans who planned on coming tomorrow evening, will now stay home and watch the stream instead? Save a tenna as well as spiralling travelling costs. Part of what makes a meeting entertaining is not just the racing, but the atmosphere by a well attended meeting so it’ll be disappointing if it has a noticeable affect on the numbers on the terraces. -

Think both clubs might get similar results against Northampton so the aggregate point over the next few days could be crucial. Could be very tight for that extra point. -
Not Ipswich specific, but thought I’d link it here
