Very enjoyable meeting. Great racing with the majority of the passing coming from the Sheffield boys! -

Very LITTLE choice to be fair. It was Chris Louis’ own words when dropping Mountain from the Witches team a few years ago. His away form was fine, he just couldn’t get to get grips with Foxhall and it was that reason he was dropped. Perhaps they just think he can’t do a lot worse than what Hume amd Lambert have produced? May as well give him a go. He’s getting a couple of meetings as well so let’s see what he can do. Hopefully he does reasonably well. -

Haven’t looked for a few weeks but he was second behind Doyle a few weeks ago. -

48-42 will do me tbh as that’ll take the bonus point. -

Dan’s second in our Averages this season and been scoring double figures in a lot of meetings. When you replace that with someone who’s only scoring a couple of points, that results in a huge swing in the overall score. His absence can’t be understated. -

Totally agree losing Dan has been a killer and I also share your concerns on his form when he returns. Hand/wrist injuries can be extremely troublesome for Speedway riders. We can only hope he comes back 100% fit and picks up exactly where he left off. -

Didn’t have the best meeting at Foxhall a couple of weeks ago but generally he’s very good here. I personally still think rider replacement is the stronger way to go at home. I know people will point to the home defeat against Leicester while using it and only gaining five points from the facility, but that was an anomaly for me. One point between two rider replacement rides between Emil and Brennan at Foxhall is extremely rare. You only have to look at the Foxhall averages of Emil, Brennan, King and Ellis to see the strength there. Away from home is a different kettle of fish. I’d look for guests every time. -
Dunno about that. Actually winning a world title and having that on your CV, is more deserving of a wild card than your place of birth. And before anyone pipes up with “give Hans Nielsen a wild card then” then you can get back in your box with your strawman argument. Doyle is still a top rider.

That’s an impossible situation though tbf. You can’t call off a meeting when it’s bone dry with possible showers in the afternoon. You HAVE to give it every chance. If the heavens then open late on then what can you do. I’ve also been there sitting in the car park waiting to go in before it got called at 7pm, most of us probably have. It’s just one of those things where you’ll probably be wrong whatever you do.

For sure, but two wrongs don’t make a right though. Think they’ve definitely taken advantage of a dodgy looking forecast to get this off. I’ve seen even worse forecasts than that the evening before a meeting at Foxhall, and they’ve not called it off the evening before. I can also remember a meeting against Peterborough at Foxhall a few years ago, where the Ipswich Twitter account uploaded a photo of the track literally under water after a monsoon mid afternoon the day of a meeting, and still got the meeting on. They’ve also worked hard clearing all the drains during the winter and sorted the drainage system. Let’s be honest here they should have waited until the morning we all know it. But what’s done is done.

Haven’t seen anyone post that since I posted about the postponement. It was obviously going to be tougher to progress with the injury problems I think we all conceded that. I certainly still wouldn’t have bet against us winning the tie tomorrow, any scenario looked possible. You’d think that was Lynn’s best chance and it may now have gone, but having said that, it could be a while before the fixture takes place and either team could look in a worse position by then! You can just never tell in this sport.

TBH, they could probably have waited until tomorrow morning to make the call. Every time I look on the Met Office it’s been changing! Wasn’t so bad an hour or two ago, but rain now pushed out til 6-7 tomorrow evening. Could have waited until early tomorrow, checked a more accurate forecast, and then made a call which would still have given everyone plenty of notice.
