  1. Pretty sure he’s on about the type of track suiting his alleged riding style, not his actual record on it!
  2. You’re taking the pi$$ here surely. Ipswich get double the crowd Belle Vue get and that’s being generous.
  3. Can’t see a single Witch hitting double figures here. I fully expect to beat Belle Vue at Foxhall, but by less than we’ll lose tonight. They have a better side it’s as simple as that.
  4. Lidsey is one of those riders isn’t he. He’s never going to be a serious player, but is handy to have in a third heatleader role.
  5. That Northampton team is shocking. I read a few weeks back in the Star that they’ll need to keep an eye on performances and if need be, the other promotions may need to help them out. Well they need it already before a wheel is turned because this team is going to struggle winning a meeting at home let alone away!
  6. Why they don’t go back to just calling it the European cup I’ll never know. Calling it the Champions League when a club finishing 5th enters it is daft.
  7. I’m still waiting to see this gung ho swashbuckling rider who scrapes the boards and stretches the throttle cable attempting to get around riders (his own words). The first couple of meetings all I’ve seen is an inside/mid track steady Eddie who looks content to hold the place he’s occupying. Now before anyone jumps on my back, of course it’s only two meetings in and he’s feeling his way in to British Speedway and getting used to things, but I’ll admit I was expecting a different style to what I’ve seen in the first couple of meetings. Perhaps today is the day? The wide open spaces of the NSS should suit him down to the ground.
  8. I’ll go with your original prediction, 60-30.
  9. And yes of course it does, it’s competitive sport and fans of both clubs will want their team to win, naturally.
  10. He’s publicly admitted on TNT that if the British final had been held anywhere other than the NSS, he’d have given it another bash to add to his seven titles but concedes that he just doesn’t have the pace anymore to compete there. I hope I’m wrong too obviously. He’ll give it his best no doubt about it but expectations should be low.
  11. That would give us our best opportunity in the final (if we finish the job). Leicester would be a far better track for us than either Belle Vue or Sheffield.
  12. Expect we’ll get dry humped here 🙈 Not going to be a good track for us this one and neither will Sheffield. Poor old Scotty will be like a sitting duck and I’d be surprised is he scores a single point.
  13. Yeah course it is. But as we’re here in Britain who cares about Poland? The same thing was said about Doyle for a few years now until recently. “Oh but Doyle isn’t the top man in Poland” all while he topped the British averages and by some distance until the last season or two.
  14. The trouble with you doing this (and we’re all guilty of it at times) is you’re looking at it through your Lynn spectacles. You’ve looked down the scorecard and picked out one score from a rider that you think should have improved on his tally, and yet ignored that Ben Cook scored paid 15. Yes, it’s a poor performance this time around from Kvech who is usually better than that, but you won’t get paid 15 from Cook every week either so if you took four points off him and added it to Kvech’s score then nobody would bat an eyelid and it’d look about right. With my Ipswich spectacles on, I look at a combined 11 from Lawson and Musielak and I’m disappointed with that and would hope that would be improved upon next time, and the same for a 3 point return from Bangs. I’d expect improvement there also next time around. What ifs is an impossible game to play and we can only deal with what IS. As has been said before, you could ride 10 meetings on the same track with exactly the same riders and not get the same scoreline twice.
  15. Not necessarily. Fricke himself isn’t the problem although it does inevitably make things difficult to build the rest of the team on a reduced team total. It looks like their issue was also signing a near 7 pointer and two 6 and a half pointers just below him. That doesn’t look wise at the moment.
  16. Don’t worry they’ll be saying it again after we’ve been battered at Belle Vue next Monday 😁
  17. Pleased to see Scotty contributing. Nobody is expecting double figures from him, but if he can contribute 5/6/7 in the middle order then job done. Think there’s more to come from this team. PHB will surely settle and improve as the meetings go on and once he does, we look very solid if unspectacular.
  18. Should never be allowed for home teams! Huge bugbear of mine that.
