  1. Had exactly the same with the 'brown envelope'. Our postie would hand it to me if I was outside working on car repairs etc. Finally he asked if I knew Mike , four roads away who had the same delivery? I replied is that Mike at.... giving his full address? Postie says 'yes!'. I then said 'yep, I see him at the speedway every week - it's the Speedway Star magazine!!! Regarding disposal. I don't. Star goes into old photocopier paper boxes and go up in the loft. Full set from mid fifties to date! Saves on loft insulation. The covers get chucked with the charity bags I get! '
  2. Yes they are. See Wolves website. In fact "Parrys International" are getting more of my money than Speedway these days! Me and the better half did a Liverpool Concert trip with them last week. Well organised and great value for money. (BSPA take note!). The drivers' have a good style over the coach microphones. It would be good to hear Tom & Andy cover a speedway meeting
  3. Was he referring to the teams in the Premiership or the Wolves team!!!!
  4. Could we drop to the Championship with that team then? Seriously though... It wouldn't be a team to win the playoffs but would hold its own at home. It's still a better option than squeezing an Old Spoon in
  5. Perhaps the £1.50 car park charge for using a field could be reduced for all drivers?
  6. Build it on the old 'Toys Am We' site at Oldbury, M5 J2 then?
  7. Once a Spoon..... always a Spoon.... Although Jan Simenesen rode for us, them & the Flea's.
  8. There was speculation that Dudley Zoo was the first Zoo in Britain. Prior to that they were all called 'Zoological Gardens'. But Dudley doesn't understand 'logical', so dropped it! Seriously though the freight depot would be a great site to use.
  9. Give it time..... perhaps 'til July
  10. It's a shame the stadium wasn't moved to the Black Country Museum. Gents bogs without a roof and spitfire nose cones would frighten the youngsters nowadays!
  11. On a trip to Victorville, Ca to watch speedway in the 80's the group I was with took the opportunity to visit the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans museum. Trigger was on display in the museum. He had been stuffed and mounted in a raised position. You could tell he was male!
  12. Will Jacob be out on his MotoX this winter?
  13. They could ride until the GP''s start. That would see us into the PSC Final
  14. Pedersen had an inability to respect team members when riding for Wolves. Ronnie Correy and Wayne Carter aamong others were dumped onto the shale by him. As such Wolves fans of that era retain the right to not want him in Wolves colours.
  15. The poster isn't'surely'. It's 'Crazy Robin'.
  16. What a wonderful read. Thanks for the link. I reckon the "Pearly Gates" are at risk of being melted down if he's up there in Heaven!!!
  17. Have you seen him at P'borough? ?? When you're in a "stupid mini so called PL league the first away win is vital. It covers home defeats to Belle Vue etc. Ryan is a great signing. He can ride the away tracks.... just need three heat leaders to go with him!!!
  18. LabCon propose the Guest rule & Rider Replacement rules are combined under the new system called: Gender Replacement
  19. Too true... And when I got even older.. I spannered for a young cub rider who progressed to doubling up... helped try to sort his late payments out etc... often 15+ meetings in arrears... and that was mid 70's..... some things don't really change!
  20. In the 60''s the second half final often provided the most passing and the home number one passed two riders with a swoop around the last bend to win at the chequered flag. Everyone was entertained, I went home happy and couldn't wait for next week.... ... when I got older I was told the money was shared equally in the last race and the riders agreed who would pass who. It's when a Promoter promoted entertainment. A big thank you to Bill Bridgett and Mike Parker for my formative years!!!
  21. I'm still undecided if it will be an announcement of a new "five year plan" or a change of league name? It wouldn't be Speedway if the rumours didn't preceed the Papal smoke from the BSPA chimney!
  22. Similarly the supermarket bags of Roysters crisps have gone down from 25g to 21g, with the price staying the same! So I'm now trying Seabrook's. Any more Speedway parallels out there?
  23. Terrace Humour: "If the TV cameras had been here, they would have carried on" "Then we would've lost; like against Swindon and we would be out of the Cup!"
  24. Didn't hear any announcement other than re-admission tickets valid next season. With the Spoons running "The Golden 'Ommer" tomorrow week it leaves no available dates.
