Berwick v Glasgow CL 22/06/24 7-00pm
ragdoll64 replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yeah, and Hagon getting booed on every appearance from then on. It would be really interesting to see what the reaction would have been if Hagon had been guesting for us and a similar incident had occurred. Some really blinkered, one sided supporters going about these days. As Paulco says, football type fans. -

Personally, I didn’t think Hagon did anything wrong and the correct decision was made. He was holding a tight line and I felt Pijper leant heavily on to him. Just my opinion…… -

Wow……and I thought that was just JP having some practice laps. I’m excited now….. -

I can’t remember what he said but at the time I momentarily wondered…..did Michael Max just hint something about Riss? I could have picked it up wrongly though. -

It’s not just that he isn’t going to pass that’s annoying …….he doesn’t even make up any ground when behind. Yet, when he’s in front, he can stretch out a lead. Frustrating to watch but as said, can bang in important points. -
Watching the “big” riders doesn’t necessarily mean entertainment in my opinion as can be seen by some of the crap we sometimes witness on Eurosport. Last Sunday’s under 21 final proved that Ashfield can produce fantastic racing without the need for big names. I’ve never been a fan of leaving the championship due to the possible pitfalls you’ve mentioned.

Not the slightest hint that the management are pondering options. Is it really an early exit for us on the back of a championship win?
-
Thank God for that…….lol

I really thought Zischke would have been on Glasgow’s radar over the winter. He was certainly on my personal team building list.
-
Bet he understands the track when he comes calling with Poole………lol. I’d gladly have kept him this year……and was it not due to the fact that initially he intimated he might not do the Championship that he wasn’t signed?
-
I’d assume the likes of Keynan Rew is too tied up in foreign leagues? I see he’s on a 4.00 average in the Prem. Don’t know what the current conversion is.

Tough one…..

I would say he used to be in that category…….but definitely not so much these days. -

Can’t see any team other than Poole winning the league this year…..unless there is an unexpected astute signing made somewhere or someone miraculously hits super form. As you say, it’s very tight between the rest. -

Forecast to be between 18 and 20 degrees at 8pm at Ashfield, so we can probably expect a maximum from him tonight. If he doesn’t start to perform soon the frosty receptions he’s likely to get won’t help his set-up problems……lol -

That could very well be the final nail in the coffin for any chance of us winning this meeting if Thompson brings his recent form. -

A tough one for sure. Was looking forward to seeing Vuolas around Ashfield but I think we’re still very vulnerable without him. As said, reserve (whoever they are) performances could make the difference. -

Aw, that’s a pity, I was really looking forward to seeing him at Glasgow on Friday. Good luck to him. -

Agree………and another of his problems seems to be the line and speed he’s using at bends 1 and 2….resulting on him tightening up and not getting his wheels in line quickly enough on exiting bend 2 and therefore scrubbing off speed. Also……re. his bike’s speed ……it would be interesting to see Harris have a go on it…… -

Got to agree…..after seeing Borke at Ashfield last season riding the boards I had him pencilled in as a Tiger for this year’s team. I’ve yet to see Starke riding a wide line so he tends to become vulnerable when the dirt moves out. -

It did seem harsh…..but I’ve got to say that he didn’t exactly make an effort to get to the tapes quickly. -

I’m sure they all communicate…..but one rider’s set up won’t necessarily suit others though…….it’s an individual thing to suit style, technique and engine etc. -

Yeah, he’s deemed a hot prospect………..but then again, so was Bickley. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see but early showings are not brilliant.
