15.14 TOP SCORER’S HEAT (Heat 15 in all SGB League Competitions) incl NDL 15.14.1 Gate Positions are determined by the outcome of the Coin Toss at the start of the Meeting. 15.14.2 The Home Team Manager nominates first, but once nominated these cannot be amended, except by the Referee should the nomination not conform to the Regulations. 15.14.3 Nominations must be a ‘qualified’ Rider, determined as either: a) A Rider in the top 3 of that Meeting’s Team by current MA (NB. A Team missing one of the top 3 and using the RR facility) may use the 4th highest Rider by MA. or A Top 5 points scorer (counting the 4 x programmed rides only, including bonus points). Excluding any rider who has already taken 7 rides or if one of those top 5 point scorers has already taken 7 rides then the 6th highest points scorer becomes a ‘qualified’ rider. (NB: No facility is available allowing another rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those top 5 points scorers are unavailable due to be withdrawn or has no equipment). If a rider is disqualified for an offence under Art 15.3 the Team Manager may choose either of the following options: - i) The disqualified rider can start on a 15 metre handicap in c or d (The opposing team does not change gate positions). or ii) Is replaced by a reserve who will start from the same gate position at the tapes. In a re-run of heat 15 a non-disqualified rider who is unable to take part may be replaced by a reserve or another ‘qualified’ rider. Can I suggest an easier amendment 1. Riders are selected by the team manager who can choose any rider from his teams 1-7 less any that have already completed 7 rides. 2. Any offences at the start or during the race incur the usual penalties as per heats 1-14. Is it really that difficult.

Was mentioned by one of our team yesterday that riders forget.

bigcatdiary replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Now now -
Peterborough kick off the 2018 season with the visit of Lakeside in the Championship Shield, weather this week has been good and the track is looking in excellent shape following extensive work. Forecast for Sunday is also good and currently described as Sunny intervals and breezy. Expected teams Peterborough Bacon, Grondal, Lambert, Lunna, Nicholls, Ostergaard & Palm Toft. Lakeside Bowtell, Ellis, Lawson, Morley, Morris, Newman & Wajtnecht

All done and dusted before the AGM. It was fairly common knowledge two of our team was sorted for 2018 before we had won the KOC Final, no prizes for guessing who.

Like a few others on here I can’t stop laughing, bloody hell thats the funniest thing I have seen in ages. Well folks if you wanted proof that Buster has completely lost the plot, it’s arrived

Season ticket sales are always reported as good, when was the last time you read of a club report that said ST sales were awful.

I should think Douglas would be fully aware of such going ons as you put it bearing in mind it’s his club.

Legal action, Scott Nicholls knows a good one I am told. -

In which case riders should consult a solicitor, this just isn’t on and it’s only the fact that it’s not being tested that the BSPA keep getting away with it. -

Exactly. I personally think Nahlins stance is the correct one, if owed money for more than a week or two they should refuse to ride. -

Well you make some points in the reply that I take some issue with 1. Scott Nicholls himself states he was contacted by Damien Bates before the AGM asking if he was interested in riding for Sheffield in 2018, it appears he wasn’t adverse to the idea but said his preference was Peterborough, he heard nothing more from Sheffield from then on, so if a new member of the MC didn’t know about the proposed rule how on Earth was a suspended promoter likely to know. 2. You and me both know from experience that challenging the MC or the BSPA gets you nothing but aggravation as the promoters who do so know from bitter experience. They don’t follow precedence and make decisions on the basis of who is asking rather than general common sense or fairness to everyone. The fact that Ged Rathbone made some serious money from the Holder deal is what sticks in the BSPA throat, that and the fact he picked up two trophies didn’t help either. The organisation as far as new rules is pathetic as last years Fours was with rules not coming out until a few days before the event and we’ll after the date teams declared their teams, then we had the laughable situation where teams were in, out and then back in in the space of a week during which some of the teams had riders then committed to Poland. And he were in March and the 2018 regulations are still not published. 3. It’s clear that the governing body for Speedway in the UK (the ACU) don’t hold either the BSPA or the SCB in a good light and after all the problems of 2017 and recent events it’s no real surprise is it. As for publishing results of some hearings, it’s been plainly obvious to some that the BSPA have no stomach at all in publishing its own shortcomings as the recent Rathbone appeal and Godfrey finding showed, for some reason the BSPA seem to think that if they don’t mention it no one will be any the wiser but in this day and age nothing is secret for very long with most discretion’s being fully dissected on the BSF and being taken to task by the Speedway star. I have said before until the BSPA start acting with honesty, openness and fairness nothing will change and this sport will lurch from one PR disaster to another. -
Nicholls is 9.72 & Grondal 5.04

Of course their is The BSPA issued a press release saying they and the SCB had thrashed out a solution, when in truth the SCB/ACU had said it was unlawful and wouldn’t be included in this years rulebook. -

Cook wasn’t at the AGM, Lakeside at that time wasn’t in either the Premiership or the Championship. -

Ged talked and agreed terms with Nicholls well before he found out about new rules not allowing it, he wasn’t aware of what happened at the AGM until weeks after the event and I do mean weeks. Here we are nearly in March and this year regulations are still not in print. I agree with you that they should all work together to run Speedway but I am afraid the reality is the complete opposite and until they do learn to work together the sport will flounder on. -

A team manager recently said to me “It isn’t the team that starts the season that wins trophies it’s the team that it finishes with” -
