To be fair Custer it’s difficult to find anything positive to say about Lakeside, it certainly isn’t the quality of the racing or the superb all seated grandstand. But I should think your riders are happy, well apart from Kim Nilsson anyway.
Well that’s my first visit to Arena for quite a while and to be fair nothings changed.
It’s still very basic facilities and the track was it’s usual super slick.
The racing was generally poor with little genuine overtaking but interest was somewhat maintained because the Panthers managed to stay close until the latter few heats.
Morris was very quick out of the starts but even he couldn’t make any impression when outrapped by Ostergaard.
I don’t see many teams getting anything out of Lakeside but on the other side I don’t see them getting much on the road either.
Nicholls needs to sort his machinery out, his track craft is good but his trapping is awful.
Following a wash out over Easter I should think their will be a few Panthers fans likely to come to this so regular weather updates over the next couple of days would be helpful.
It’s certainly odd bearing in mind it’s the start of the season and he had just accepted a new post on the BSPA.
I dare say it will come out in due course.
I do, TBH I hadn’t really noticed that we were one of the few that didn’t.
