Peterborough Panthers 2018
bigcatdiary replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Their has been a further GSA today (issue 2 dated 1/5/18) which supercedes Issue 1dated 30/4/18. This has changed completely a lot of the averages for the fixtures at the end of the week. Its clear that the GSA now include Championship Shield matches, which is of course completely contrary to the current SCB regulations. The words utter shambles spring to mind. -

Indeed, I dare say the real reason for now including Shield matches will show its face with some new team declarations. -
Fewer meetings and Rain Offs
bigcatdiary replied to wealdstone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I was told the reason the Championship is only once home and away in the league is simply down to the voting power of those clubs who lose money each year opting to not lose quite as much as in previous seasons. -

Of course that’s assuming that your explanation is correct and we are running on that formula, I have seen nothing in writing to say that’s the case bearing in mind this is a completely new competition. -

Reading the Ipswich write up from their home defeat v Lakeside it looks like Covatti is doubtful for Tuesday. -

Yes I am sure it was more Wonga,Starke only too readily agreed to guest yesterday so he obviously didn’t have any problems about riding, as Gemini says Chris was moaning about a 5 hour wasted drive on his wife’s birthday. -

He was offered terms as was Harris, but the draw of more Wonga from the garage owners just swayed it, it will be interesting to see who fancies the long drive next year, Harris already seems annoyed with it according to his twitter and it’s only just started. -

To be fair Nicholls just wasn’t getting out of the starts, he told me his Godden is fast enough around any of the tracks so the problem was just the start. After a couple of rides he had sorted the set up and looked much sharper, problem sorted. -
