We are trying to get a hotel in Gelsenkirchen but everywhere seems full at the the minute so it may have to be Dusseldorf for us as well. Its good to know that we can get a train back fairly easily if need be

Sandie- Make sure you bring the Smurf make up again although i did hear that he wanted to be a Power Ranger this trip looks like there is going to be quite a few British fans going out for this one
-
Just looked at the advance weather forecast for next week and the weather Thurs,Fri and Sat should be sunny with temps of 29 to 31 c so should be shorts and t shirts weather. Im still going to take a jacket as i know what the storms are like out there
-
I am sorry Sandie but I dont believe I have spoken to you previously about staying at the Ramada, just saw your reccomendation and saw it was central hotel so thought we would book this I think you have me and my mate Smurf mixed up with somebody else.
-
Just booked myself and my mate Smurf into the Ramada in Prague as it seems this is a good hotel and I have heard a few fans will be staying there as well. I have got another friend going but he is having to Stay at an Ibis as he has a thing for the working ladies of the night and I have been told they are not allowed into the Ramada as more of a classy hotel.

Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
flagrag replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well it looks like Sky have changed their mind about broadcasting the Coventry WTC round in HD, it was announced after the brilliant British GP in HD that they would do this as well. But I have noticed that since then they have said nothing more about it and it is also not flagged as being in HD on the tv guide. I find this very disapointing after it was announced and for such a major event this should be in HD also the lighting is more than good enough at Brandon so technically no reason why it could not be done -
I have also been told told by 2 hotels that IMG had block booked 50 rooms in each hotel and also they had booked a whole hotel for the officials to stay in, I wonder if they are looking at doing some of there own packages with hotels and tickets together
-
One thing with the official announcement being this evening if the GP isnt on 27th June as is suspected hopefully hotel chains wont have web teams in this evening to add the event inflation on.
-
I would have a good guess on Saturday 27th June 2009 as the hotels where FIM,BSI,IMG are reporting to be full for that weekend yet the weeks before that seem quite free and easy. One good thing is with the announcement being this evening hopefully if change of date hotel chains wont have web teams to add inflation onto rooms until the morning.

The price of hotels in Cardiff for the GP is stupid I am told that it is more for the speedway than for the football and the Rugby League millenium magic weekend. I had a look round last night and as everybody is finding some hotels are saying they are full others are doubling prices for 26th-28th June Ibis want £300 for weekend I know IMG/BSI and the Visit Wales tourist group are disgusted by the hotels prices and BSI have reminded the powers that be that they could go most large football ground in June. I just hope that they keep the weekend the same as tthis year for the people like myself and other forum members who had booked rooms well before the date is announced

Well I have recently come back from Lonigo for the 2009 SGP qualifier and I had an excellent week in Italy and i would definitly reccomend it so much to do in the area I stayed in Soave 5mins from main A4 autostrada and 5 mins from San Bonifacio train station a good number of hotels around here. It is about a 15 min drive to Lonigo but very well sign posted and even signs for the speedway As well as the speedway Verona is 20 mins by car,Lake Garda just over an hour,Venice 1 hour 10 mins by train and Milan 2 hours by car so you really can have a good week out there.

Shovlar- For once I have to agree with you on Chris Holder if he continues to progress at his current rate he should recieve a wild card for 2009 and I have heard a few things that indicate a decision has already been made that he will be in the 2009 series providing he has a good World Cup this year. If it had been the original lineup at Lonigo I think Freddie Lindgren would have won it and would have said that Janniro and Batchelor would have have made the cut above J Monberg and on how he rode last night probaly Daniel King. I cant believe how welcome the Italians have made us and therew as a good crowd there with plenty of cheering for the race winners and lots of fans staying behing to watch presentation and to chat to riders after the meeting
-
I went to the meeting last night and it was good such a fast track with quite a bit of passing. I must say im no Poole fan but Chris Holder was the most unlucky rider in his 1st race got excluded for nothing was nowhere near the other rider and then his engine failures were while leading by almost half a straight he was very annoyed by this and I did notice that he was using his Polish bikes and Mechanics I wonder if that had anything to do with EF's as he had a right go at his mechanics after 2nd failure. The brits took quite a while to get the hang of the track and Steady didnt look fast enough on his 1st bike I got some very strange looks when cheering for brits in run off against Carpenese who actually impressed me but it was on his home track so should have been good. I think the right man won in Sullivan as he looked the best rider on the night as Ferjan was just gating as per usual
-
Well I have been out in sunny Italy since Tuesday for this meeting and have seen lots of promotion and billboard adverts as far field as Verona and Lake Garda so the Lonigo track seem to be trying very hard to get as big as crowd as possible for this, just hoping the hot sunny wethaer hold out foe the meeting
-
Im going to Lonigo soon can anybody reccomend a good hotel to stay in thats in the area I will have hire car and plan to visit Venice,Verona and Lake Garda while im there looking for a central base
