  1. The Jubilee/Pre Season challenge Poole vs Leicester was agreed while trying to sort the play offs out earlier this month. Lawson has been signed for Leicester for a number of weeks so makes sense for him to ride for his new club. It was Danny Ford who said that they would use Jack,Brady and Chris to balance the teams out so Leicester can ride with their full 1-7. Poole have been looking at DT as replacement for Kemp but not sure if they are going with that option or not as it did depend on the top end of the Pirates team but was a way to keep Zach Cook at reserve
  2. No as it’s just Leicester vs Poole with Lawson and Dan T riding for Leicester with Poole using Holder x 2 and B Kurtz
  3. The money situation is why Leicester have gone with the team that they have for 2023, Lots of riders show an interest but also think that because the club is moving up and have good sponsorship that they will pay massive money .
  4. Dudek has shown interest in riding in the UK in 2023 to improve his all round performance on the more technical tracks. However at least two clubs have decided not to take him up on his interest due to the financial commitments needed which were well above the Doyle,Holder,Fricke,Bewley sort of required wages
  5. I wouldn’t be so sure about that could be double Cook at Wolves next year
  6. Wolves have a real surprise signing coming up and has ridden for most Premiership clubs now
  7. Can’t comment too much on the financial input for work reasons other than to say the Sky Sports deal is still the biggest one that British Speedway has had. If the current younger bunch of promoters had been involved at the end of the Sky deal then it may have still been on the UKs largest sports broadcaster. Next year will be interesting with the Warner Discovery joint venture with BT on Sports in the UK I am hearing a variety of different outcomes on how they will move forward with BT Sport and Eurosport. Personally I can see BT sport being the home of UK based sport plus the CL Football and then Discovery sport will show overseas content from both Eurosport and BTs overseas rights. So it’s possible that UK Speedway could end up back on BT sport in 2023
  8. I don’t think Flint will be back at Monmore next year as his Championship average will be too high to be rising star so will have to start in the main body of the team and he will be replaced with an Aussie rider
  9. Congratulations to Poole on winning last night they were the best team on the night at Kings Lynn I do believe that had the meeting been at Leicester on a usual grippy track then Leicester would have won on the night and been very close maybe 2 point sway as don’t think Lawson would go unbeaten with Morris and Worrall to beat him and although in good form both the Cook brothers wouldn’t have scored the same amount. On a similar note both Thompson twins would have scored more as well. Overall a good nights racing and a big shame more didn’t attend to watch it live but I do understand why with the early start and distance involved. It’s interesting reading Poole fans comments for next season and their views on Kemp and Ablitt, What would Poole fans views on replacing them two with the Thompson twins ?
  10. I am sorry if I have misled anyone I don’t believe i have ever credited myself as track curator in fact totally the opposite I would much rather be warm in an office than driving round on a tractor. BTFC Lion is the main man on the track putting in the graft and deserves a medal for the hours that he has been putting in this season , I was simply commenting on the information that was provided to me about plans to try to get the meeting on for Friday in an attempt to reassure fans that fingers crossed this weeks rain will not damage the track as much this week.
  11. The track will be maintained and prepared as the weather alllows this week. Also I believe as long as deemed safe by match day referee and SCB track inspector (Who also happens to be Poole’s track curator) then the riders will be told to get on with it and get the meeting completed . Yes it may be heavy in places , may be wet spots hopefully not too many bumps but will be the same for all riders so they will have to use their skills and entertain the fans.
  12. As long as no rain on Friday then it should be good to go as there will be no dirt on the track to get waterlogged until the day of the meeting, That is the plan I am led to believe once they have taken it all off to the stone/concrete base any water should just run off and be brushed away during the week.
  13. Very true let’s wait and see what Buster and the SCB track inspectors along with Leicester & Sheffields track staff can do with getting it bladed and dirt removed. Then look at a more detailed accurate weather report it does unfortunately look like Leicester will be having rain at some point everyday this week but how much is the unknown
  14. Don’t think Saturday is a good option as it’s Bonfire night,Staff working other events, Leicester City on TV and possibly issues getting medical staff as may be needed at other events Sunday seems the best option for fans of both clubs as a lot of rain is due to fall from Wednesday until Thursday night
  15. BWD was awful tonight and did not seem at all interested in racing. I have not seen him for a few years but looks like has put quite a bit of weight, his bikes looked poor as had bright covers but then using Peterborough mudguards from his last season over here . As expected Congrave is very out of depth reminded me of Jedd List that came over for Scunthorpe,Newcastle would be better off with a NL rider. It was good to see Paul Starke putting up a little fight
  16. Arthur Sissis was the rider that Sheffield had and like Darcy he is a natural on a motorcycle and could have been very good at Speedway if he had been more focused. Both him and his family knew he was good but he always has road racing as well as Speedway and at one point was tipped to be a Moto GP rider but is now racing in the Aussie Superbike series. His Speedway equipment was never that good quality and having Sheffield as a home track shows his lack of speed and then he was a bit unlucky picking up few injuries
  17. It is my understanding that some of the GPs will be shown live on Eurosport in the UK along with highlights and other features on Quest. This is being done for two reasons firstly they know it is very unlikely that significant numbers would sign up to watch online using Discovery Player that is confirmed by the amount of subscribers that Premier Sport get for their Polish & Swedish league coverage. Secondly from a technical perspective Eurosport that is broadcast on Sky is on a satellite transponder that is on a tight UK footprint so is very difficult to receive outside of UK ,where as the Polish and most European versions can be viewed pretty much anywhere in Europe. There will of course people that will do screen Scraping to re-broadcast on the internet and I fully expect the BSN Championship coverage will done as well
  18. Not sure if Josh is having second thoughts now about returning to racing as he didn’t seem very committed on Saturday and he wasn’t riding his usual lines around Leicester
  19. It’s not just Danish riders that Birmingham are having a problem signing due to fixture clashes. They had another rider lined up to return to the UK for them but the deal was stopped by authorities due to him missing a number of weekend away fixtures due to meetings abroad.
  20. Birmingham have their team it’s just waiting for them to announce it or will it just be a case of come to Leicester on Saturday to find out ? Some of these issues have been caused by a rider having their arm twisted to ride for Birmingham as No1 then trying to back track saying if you can get anyone else I will drop out as they are not fussed about starting in Championship in 2022
  21. The same Plymouth team that tried to get a Birmingham signing to change his mind to ride at Plymouth when Eddie K said it wasn’t going to work out for him
  22. I did find it strange last week that he was keen to practice at Leicester and had new bikes built here in the UK so this is probably the reason why
  23. If a young Australian wonder if it may be Fraser Bowes although if he wanted to do the UK would have thought Glasgow would have signed him up. I noticed he has been out in Spain training with Lublin so assume part of their squad in 2022
  24. They have some good knowledgeable Speedway people involved there and I am sure that they will not let Mr Rogers pull the wool over their eyes. Dave Rowe is a good honest guy who loves his Speedway and is master of stats of Speedway and I met Gary Drinkwater and his wife Lorraine when they were involved at Coventry. Nigel Tolley is a very astute businessman and has made himself very good money by sound investments so don’t see him getting involved at Birmingham without doing his due diligence
