  1. Kasper Lykke wouldn't have been at reserve, it's Robin Aspegren at 7 with RR & a guest for Kasper and Anders Mellgren
  2. They need to reduce costs for the riders. I'm afraid not. I just looked at the Speedway Updates Danish section
  3. There are riders who hold down jobs outside of speedway. Edward Kennett & Steve Boxall are a couple that spring to mind.
  4. It was working for Rye House & Mildenhall (Boxall & Armstrong), but guess what, they weren't represented on the BSPA committee, so it was scrapped mid season, because it wasn't working for their teams I must've missed that amongst all the usual trolling nonsense
  5. I did!!! It was a match race at Rye about 6 or 7 years or so ago between Len & Michael Lee. Lee did 4 laps, Len only has to do 3. I think Len won.
  6. Len was a pretty decent rider in the old Provincial League. I think he won the PLRC in the early 60's
  7. That's what the newsletter said. The 7th is a Monday. I presume they mean the 5th?
  8. Can you confirm the new date for the Bandits v Rockets PL meeting please
  9. You're gonna get the traditionalists that'll throw their hands up in horror, but something drastic needs to be done to save British speedway. No good tinkering around the edges, be bold. The Danes have the right idea, 5 man teams, 14 heats
  10. I've seen a few on YouTube, notably Andrew Silver breaking the track record in the mid 80's.
  11. Of course, sourcing adequate guests would be easier
  12. Only went to Berrington once, sadly 4 years or so ago when it was just abandoned and overgrown with weeds. Glad a took a few snaps before they cleared the site completely
  13. The answer is 5 or 6 man teams, maybe one or two less heats and reduced admission
  14. Linus Sundstrom in his second season had the cut back on bend 2 sorted
  15. Ahhhh, sorry, crossed wires... Well, he can certainly gate a lot faster, which isn't difficult as Kasper is one of the slowest out of the traps that I've ever seen.
  16. Kasper is a second string now, Robin Aspegren at reserve. Still decent. 4-6 weeks out is the estimate, but Anders Mellgren due back soon
  17. Kasper confirmed with a broken collarbone from a meeting in Denmark this afternoon.... The Rockets injury jinx continues
  18. If you go to speedway you're more than likely gonna be covered in wet shale, or dust. I've been watching speedway clips from the 70's & 80's on YouTube and in many of them there is dust in the air. Simple solution is not to wear your Sunday best and maybe some sort of cap
  19. Boxall & Dan Greenwood are the weak links in the side as far as I'm concerned. Steves turned up with one bike to meetings recently, which would've been ok in the old days, but not acceptable in this more "professional era". Jason Bunyan recommended Michael Palm Toft to Len before the start of last season, but Lens love child got the team place. We've all seen how MPT goes around our track.
  20. A ten minute interval isn't very long at all. Doesn't matter how good the meeting is, you'll still find someone who'll moan about something or other. Pity the poor sods like me who watched the Rockets fail to hit 30 points there three times last year, but couldn't make it last night
