  1. Throw rotten eggs as well as tomatoes, then the yolk will be on him
  2. It's the same with any cash based business. It's very easy to overestimate the income. I speak from personal experience. I'm not saying this is the case here though.
  3. Perhaps he didn't realise the amount of work needed. I've a feeling he wasn't told how many people really come through the gate each meeting.
  4. Before everyone starts going on about the superb Scunthorpe track, speak to the riders involved. They were far from impressed. Too much dirt high up and nothing low down is what I'm hearing from some of them. Some of the riders were just happy to get away without injury. Unfortunately for Alex Davies & Josh Auty they didn't.
  5. When I saw the Workington line up there was no way we wren't going through to the next round. Apart from Ricky Wells coming to life after the track had dried out it was pretty lacklustre from the Comets. Some decent racing with Edward, Kasper and Nicolaj catching the eye. Pleased to see Dan getting four rides and some valuable confidence with a couple of good rides. Lots of early watering and grading between the early heats, but the track dried out towards the end and so did the entertainment, but it wasn't as dusty as the updater on Speedway Updates commented, not from where I was watching on the home straight terrace.
  6. My understanding is that the track shop people are based in Suffolk and it's not worth the expense of travelling for the NL meetings. New owners at Rye mean there have been a few changes in personel... Lisa has severed her ties with the club as I undestand it... What I don't understand is the need for two security guards. One of them was on collecting entrance money yesterday. Apart from that it seems a very easy gig for them, until Cradley come to town, THEN we'll see what they're made of! Can't see much if any stadium improvments over the past month or so since the intitial work carried out pre and early season.
  7. Track Track prep should be interesting... Is that confirmed for 5pm tomorrow?
  8. I'd have willingly exchanged the last few days out here in Egypt to have been at Scunny Hmmmm..... perhaps I over estimated the Scunny side and underestimated ours
  9. Rode for you last year, so knows the track well and Perks hasn't done much. Don't think it'll make much difference to the final outcome
  10. May have felt the effects of a previous injury, much like Steve Boxall at Lakeside last Friday
  11. I can't work out if you're serious, or taking the pi££..... Scunny by 12 or more
  12. Yeah, that makes sense.Scheduled to land at Gatwick around 1am Sunday, so a few hours kip and then we'll see you in the pub around midday ;D
  13. Can't see us progressing either way Is that the same as a working visa?
  14. Ok, I'll make it simple. We're gonna get walloped by 20+
  15. I'm not usually one who moans about missing riders costing us results. I was only countering the Scunny fans post about Ben Morley costing them the win. Speedway isn't football, so unfortunately we won't always have first dibs on our contracted foreign riders. Blimey, we can't even call on Edward when we're away and Lakeside are at home and he's an asset! I'm not surprised to see people turning against Silver snr. I acknowledge he's been great for the sport, but his stubbornness is losing what little support we have left. Sounded like a decent meeting though
  16. Couldn't be there last night, so can't comment on individual performances. Gotta grudgingly agree with Chris. Robins scores have tailed off after a promising start. Haven't seen Dan Greenwood race yet, but he seems out of his depth in the PL.
  17. Just to back up that with some stats Nikolaj is averaging 8.34 at home, RR last night averaged 6. Steve averaging 6.05 at home, Proctor averaged 4.80. Kasper averaging 6.13, Starke averaged 5.60. Pretty clear the Rockets missed the absentees more.
  18. Not having Jakobsen cost us 3 points. Also missing Boxall and Lykke. Count yourself lucky you escaped with a draw
  19. Just a light jacket then. I'll be in the hotel bar trying to keep up with the updates, subject to dodgy Egyptian wifi
  20. I'd love to be there, but.... http://m.accuweather.com/en/eg/sharm-el-sheikh/128443/weather-forecast/128443
  21. Cradley, Birmingham, Ipswich, Leicester, Somerset... May be more, I'll have to ask B4e
