Rye House V Somerset 3/5/15
Shadders replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Some of the things Len Silver comes out with are embarrassing. I had a lot of respect for him, but he's slowly losing the plot unfortunately. I'm thousands of miles away sunning it up, so can't dig around and find out what's really going on, have to put up with Facebook & Twitter, but it looks to me very similar to the Peterborough/Stoke Easter Monday meeting where the track wasn't watered or graded during the entire first half, leaving Andrew to try and prepare what remnants of track there was left for the second half. I'm led to believe the track for the Kent meeting last Saturday was pretty decent. The Rye House track simply can't handle double headers, that's the bottom line unfortunately -

You can guarantee that if the Bandits don't run next year the promotion will blame the Supporters Club -
What's up with Anders? Nothing in the local news here in Egypt

My poor attempt at sarcasm

I'm gutted I couldn't make it, but probably would've still been fuming that we threw a lead away and just managed to scrape a point.
-
I'm sure I read that Roynon was to replace Palm Toft when he returned?
-
Can anyone confirm that Dan Greenwood had 6 rides and Kasper 4. Seems to be some confusion on Speedway Updates
-
I'd usually be pleased with a point at Redcar, but not tonight. Two points dropped.

Decided not to travel, too close to our holiday. Always enjoy the company and the award wining pie n peas. Hope for an away win, but you never know how it'll be on the night

For variety of opponents it beats the EL hands down. I'm sure a few will miss the GP stars such as Holder, Harris etc, but the EL format with some of the reserves half a lap behind the front two can be tiresome to watch.

You can do that and still post negative comments. I doubt it'll make any difference to your results

The only feasible option would be letting Robin go as he's not an asset. That'd leave 6.93 for his replacement

Time to ditch your "friends" and make some new ones. Keep the other half though, handy for cooking, cleaning, ironing etc... -
It'll be in the next newsletter I presume

With the VIP Club proceeds presumably

Looks like Ipswich only require a draw at Plymouth to top the Southern League Cup group. Second place isn't enough to qualify as it stands. That home defeat by Peterborough (two 1-5's in the last 2 heats) may have cost us dearly.

Dunno. It's only a rumour, probably way off the mark. Maybe the new promoters just bedding in and doing things different to the Silver promotion.

Season is rapidly going down the tubes. Only Edward came away from Peterborough today with any credit. Worrying rumours that the riders haven't been paid for a couple of weeks. Hope this isn't the case.

That's not his job It's sad when you have to rely on a guest reserve to keep it respectable. Boxall a big miss, Mellgren & Aspegren disappointing to say the least. -
Redcar- award winning pie n peas are excellent... Scunnys steak pie is delicious.... Scotch pies at Berwick are the biz

Never bother with the food there. We usually pop into the Harvester next door. Ok, it ain't gourmet cuisine, but £16 for a meal with drinks for 4 people (we had a 50% off voucher) ain't to be sniffed at. Haven't been to BK for years, but £17 sounds excessive. Must've gone upmarket since I was last there.

I think there's every reason to be confident. Don't fancy our chances here today WOW!! We're off to the Harvester after the meeting. Cheap & cheerful. Aaaaaand there's already a delay as there's a problem with gate 4. Funny they left it until Rye won the toss and took 1 & 3
