Ipswich V Sheffield (pl) 05 Sept 2013 @ 19:30

Full stop, really? Speedway by it's very nature carries a high risk of injury. There can't be any riders of his age or experience that haven't suffered injury of some sort. Olly Allen doesn't strike me as being particularly "injury prone" -

Far from convinced by him. Actually dropped his average this year and can't gate for $hit. I'll be amazed if he's back with the Rockets next year. -
Following a Friday forecast of steady rain it looks ok for Saturday. Track should be in decent shape. Obviously Workington will be desperate to get something out of this whereas the Rockets just want to keep it ticking over for the KOC final. Expected line ups: Rockets: Olly Allen, Pontus Aspgren, Jason Bunyan, Tyson Nelson, Anders Mellgren, Kasper Lykke, Oliver Greenwood. Comets: Richard Lawson, Tero Aarnio, Kyle Howarth, Rusty Harrison, Rene Bach, Ashley Morris, Chris Mills.

Where Is It All Going Wrong At Berwick?

Nice race suits though -
These people are obviously fools... I don't understand what people want from speedway these days. There were 30 hard fought heats with loads of incidents and good racing, all for 20 quid. 40,000+ people pay a fortune to go to Cardiff for the GP every year with half as much going on as there was last night and people are still not satisfied.

Which one? It's a shame this thread wasn't split into two, as both matches deserved a mention as they were so contrasting. I've gotta say well done to the track staff who produced an excellent surface, which despite the dust produced lots of good racing and plenty of incident Ben, I was told that Jorgenson may have a broken coxyx, but this isn't confirmed. I first thought he'd just lost some skin off his backside when he took a long scrape along the track as he fell, but it seems the initial impact may have caused the damage. Pontus mentioned on his Twitter account that he may have chipped a bone in his back. Whether this prevents him racing isn't clear. Overheard Len speaking to a fan saying that it's unlikely that Jason Garrity will race again this year, something most of us suspected anyway. I thought Nelson was superb in the Redcar match. I had to almost cover my eyes as he rode the boards at some stages. Whatever people say he is great entertainment when he's "on it". I'm not sure that he'll be able to show his best on the odd shaped Lakeside track. Not sure what's happened to Ostergaard in the last few years, but he seems a shadow of the rider I remember at Reading. Proper team effort all round from the Rockets, made for a very enjoyable evenings entertainment. I hope any neutrals and stay aways will consider returning, because when you get two teams that really want it, the Rye track can produce some great moments. Just a mention of the crashes. Note that despite the lack of a air or foam barrier there were no serious injuries due to our supposed unsafe safety fence. I thought the announcer had a mare and was getting loads of stick from those around me on the startline terracing. I too think the fanfare is an embarassment, get rid! Not sure what Josh Auty's problem was after Pontus caused him to fall. I think he'd just had enough of Rockets riders bringing him down, but someone suggested he may have been having a pop at the ref as the start of that race was a little ragged. Not sure who I'd like us to face in the final, because I reckon we'd struggle against either side. Obviously Somerset would be an easier journey for me personally.

Blimey, you've been away a long time!... Haven't seen Splatty at Rye for a good 5 or 6 years. The Tempstand Crew have long departed, only a small handfull still attend. My preferred viewing place these days is amongst the rowdies on the Startline Terrace with Bolly, Startline Sid & Hooversquash. If you see me come and say hello... You'll know me as I'll be the one head down texting the Twitter updates between heats. Oooh, I forgot about him

My understanding is that it doesn't apply to number one's, home or away. -

If Somerset have sacked Stefan it'll be someone else's gain. I hope Mr Sampford & Mr Silver have taken note. -
