  1. A club that used to be the envy of the Premier League and a place where away sides feared has now becoming a laughing stock and easy picking for most teams. Injuries have played their part for sure, but he side was doomed from the start as soon as Garrity was named in the 1 to 5 and Simon Lambert was prised away from National League Stoke. Kasper hasn't progressed as hoped and is under huge pressure when he misses the gate, as he often does. Never seen him try the outside line at Rye, more often than not diving inside on the third, which can be risky. The massive win at Plymouth in the League Cup was a false dawn. Recent results have been shocking, except the win at Sheffield, where the home team were in a big slump. We've still got to visit Workington, Edinburgh, Scunthorpe and Newcastle, where I fear we'll see more of what we had at Somerset, a massive thumping. Things have got so bad I even have Berwick fans sympathising
  2. Season is going down the toilet if it hasn't already. In form Redcar will batter us in the KOC, then it'll be just counting the weeks until the end of the season with crowds tailing off. Luke Bowen will be rushed back in late July/earlyAugust. Mear will be gone (hopefully), probably into retirement. His appetite for speedway seems to have gone. Don't know how long we'll put up with two low scoring reserves. One of them may have to be elbowed. Lots to ponder for the promotion. Good luck rescuing this season.
  3. I fear it's a fractured forearm Dave. Rider replacement is a waste of time with most of the side misfiring. A horses for courses guest is the only way, unless Ollies injury is long term, then it's gonna have to be a new signing. If Berwick don't want Kennett we'll take him. Nobody else springs to mind right now.
  4. Murmerings around the terraces that Silver has lost interest in Rye and is focused on his new love in Kent. Don't think he's completely lost interest, just taken his eye off the ball. That second bend exit was causing a whole heap of problems for even the most experienced riders. Glad it wasnt' just us that noticed. I'm no track expert, so can't offer a reason or a solution. Perhaps I'll get another visit from an expert to tell me why next time I'm there. Almost grabbed my thick Rye coat before leaving home, but thought it'd be too warm. How wrong I was! Sat for most of the meeting shivering at the back of the Tempstand with blue hands in a foul mood almost unable to text the Twitter updates. Roll on summer!
  5. Some friends were down on the Sheffield coach for the 2007 play off final and were trapped in the car park for almost an hour after the meeting. Not fun when you've just been hammered 69-23 We left immediately after heat 15 last night and were lucky to be at the front of 3 rows of cars. The one's in the middle weren't so lucky! Terrible for Olly, the club and supporters. Wish him all the best. Now the search begins for suitable guest or a replacement.
  6. I guess that comment still stands after last night? Was told Roynon had a falling out with Silver, so a return is unlikely. Would be a risk anyway with his record of injuries. Don't know of a more unlucky rider in recent years
  7. Seen a few comments on other social media regarding the Eurosport coverage. I understand their policy is to stick with a live event until it's conclusion, hence the first few heats missed due to the overrunning tennis. Lost interest in the racing after a short while and drifted off to sleep, still fuming over the Rye House result!
  8. There are still a couple of places left on the Bandits tour bus "nice little weekend trip" to Leicester & Rye House in August, but if you are who I think you are you'll already be booked on it.
  9. Neathy is sorely missed Noel, especially on nights like this. Another shocker tonight. Three 1-5's at the end was hard to take when it looked like we were cruising ten points up. Ok, losing Olly was a huge blow, but we should've been out of sight with at least one decent reserve. Once again it cost us. Bitterly cold and dragged on way too long. Mellgren had one bad ride when it mattered, Lambert had several. Mear looks ordinary, disinterested. Nelson still looking like he's over trying. Something's not right there. Putting him at 4 has been a disaster. He can't ride with Anders, that's plain to see. Problems on the second bend with too many riders having trouble with the exit. Problematical times for Rye House speedway. Looks like the GP and a kebab for us next Saturday. I can't take much more of this.
  10. With Josh Bates in for Bech and doubts over Mark Lemon's fitness, we should win this. I wouldn't put any money on it though.
  11. If they let me in after last nights rant on the forum
  12. We're gonna stand with you mugs tonight and you can explain to us who you mean
  13. I'll let you choose which one's they can have. You know who I'd choose
  14. Perhaps they could use some of the Kent riders. We may have a chance of winning then.
  15. News from Plymouth http://www.plymouthd.../article-4.html Updates available http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/12350/rye-house-plymouth-pl-7pm
  16. Rye House were an ambitious club once. Tai, Roynon, Danny King, all good up and coming young British riders who were going places. Crowds were twice what they are now. People have deserted in their droves. Can't all be down to the economy. Once you lose them and they get out of the routine of showing up every week it's very hard to get em back. I'd have seen dozens of Rye fans at Somerset as recently as 3 or 4 years back. Last night I only saw one bloke standing on front of me on the back straight. There may have been a few more, but they were pretty anonomous. I have it on good authority that Rye House are good payers, the riders are well looked after, so attracting good ones shouldn't be a problem. The crowd at Somerset wasn't that much more than the regular Rye crowd and they charge a couple of quid less on admission. They can afford the likes of Doyle, Morris and Grajczonek, who won't come cheap. As you and other have said, every effort should've been made to get Garrity at reserve. That could've been the difference between a top 4 place and a side destined to struggle in the lower reaches of the league. The KO Cup now becomes paramount. If and when we're out of that the season is dead.

  18. Forget Jason Garriity, even Jason Criump in his heyday wouldn't have made much difference. When are we gonna stop making excuses for some of Lykkes woeful performances, especially away from home? His gating is atrocious and he hugs that white line like its his best friend. Silver is on record as saying he doesn't look at a riders average when building a team, just picks the best seven riders available. Bullsh*t!. Simon Lambert, really? Just tell the truth and say he was the best you could afford within the budget available. You'd get far more credit for that rather than just bullsh*tting the fans with a load of old pony and flim flam. You can tell he used to be a used car salesman. Trying to pass off and old banger as a Rolls Royce. Well it don't wash with me and if the crowds continue to dwindle he'll be left with a virtually empty stadium and only memories of a side that used to challenge for trophies, not put up a performance like we saw at Somerset, Hopefully the side will get a kick up the arse before on form Plymouth arrive, otherwise we're gonna end up with another home defeat and a few less watching at the following home match. Rant over. Good night.
