I used to love the big home wins. As regular away travellers we saw closer meetings away from home, so had the best of both worlds -

You're just confusing yourself now. Why not go for a lie down and have a think about it before meals on wheels deliver your tea -
The presentation at Rye House is crap and outdated. Craig Saul does a decent enough job, but he can't be in two places at once. Most clubs have a roving mic man and someone in the box with the heat details etc... The sight of Craig rushing down from the refs box to the pits for a quick interview during an enforced break is a common sight. More penny pinching. Can't wear two hats and do the job properly. I doubt the choice of music would entice any more through the gate, so that's a bit of a red herring. Silver has tried to to change the parade by riding on the front of the truck with the team captains, but that may probably be something to do with him not being able to march in time to "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines" any more due to his advancing years.

I think the ref may have seen it as Anderson laying it down as he saw Kasper fall, but from my recolection he was a fair way back. Hard to believe that was the same Jake Anderson who struggled so much when he first came over. Much improved. Had a feeling that Plymouth would take the points, but not in that fashion. -
I'm in the same boat as you mate. Been going since '85 when introduced to the sport and have been following them home and away ever since.Stopped going to speedway altogether after they closed in '93, losing interest in speedway completely. Only rediscovered the club again by accident in 2000 when taking my kids for a drive in the country, deciding to show them where daddy used to go on Sunday afternoons. No way do I want the club to fold. If Rye House closed it'd be the occasional Berwick away meeting with the other half and Cardiff GP.

He posted a photo of himself shortly after surgery on his Twitter account. Gutted for him as he was going so well. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Differing views over the incident. Most (including the ref) saw it as Olly locking up, causing Morris to hit the back wheel, but from a different angle you come to a different conclusion -
You're one of many that have deserted the club over the past few years. Silver's pre meeting rant at the hecklers who dared to question his judgement last year was the final straw for some. I lost my respect after he named and shamed me in the local rag with half truths and blatant lies. Another cheap jibe when he saw me at Berwick last year. If he packs up and walks out of Rye House the club will die. He owns the lease on the stadium and nobody in their right mind would rent it off him. He'll still have his supporters who'll thank him for bringing the club back in the late 90's after Ronnie Russels disastrous tenure, when in truth it was a small bunch of die hard fans that resurrected the Rockets name. To his credit he put his money where his mouth was and made us one of the Premier Leagues top sides No Rye House fan will forget the fantastic 2005 & 2007 seasons, but that memory has been clouded somewhat by the last few years of mediocrity. Even his staunchest supporters on the forum are beginning to see the light.

Already been pointed out earlier. Move on -
Jason Garrity will be rushed back before he's ready. Luke Bowen will be back in the side after he has the rod removed from his leg.

I'd say that was a tad optimistic. How long was he out after the similar injury he suffered? Seem to recall it was months

A club that used to be the envy of the Premier League and a place where away sides feared has now becoming a laughing stock and easy picking for most teams. Injuries have played their part for sure, but he side was doomed from the start as soon as Garrity was named in the 1 to 5 and Simon Lambert was prised away from National League Stoke. Kasper hasn't progressed as hoped and is under huge pressure when he misses the gate, as he often does. Never seen him try the outside line at Rye, more often than not diving inside on the third, which can be risky. The massive win at Plymouth in the League Cup was a false dawn. Recent results have been shocking, except the win at Sheffield, where the home team were in a big slump. We've still got to visit Workington, Edinburgh, Scunthorpe and Newcastle, where I fear we'll see more of what we had at Somerset, a massive thumping. Things have got so bad I even have Berwick fans sympathising -

Season is going down the toilet if it hasn't already. In form Redcar will batter us in the KOC, then it'll be just counting the weeks until the end of the season with crowds tailing off. Luke Bowen will be rushed back in late July/earlyAugust. Mear will be gone (hopefully), probably into retirement. His appetite for speedway seems to have gone. Don't know how long we'll put up with two low scoring reserves. One of them may have to be elbowed. Lots to ponder for the promotion. Good luck rescuing this season. -

I fear it's a fractured forearm Dave. Rider replacement is a waste of time with most of the side misfiring. A horses for courses guest is the only way, unless Ollies injury is long term, then it's gonna have to be a new signing. If Berwick don't want Kennett we'll take him. Nobody else springs to mind right now. -

Murmerings around the terraces that Silver has lost interest in Rye and is focused on his new love in Kent. Don't think he's completely lost interest, just taken his eye off the ball. That second bend exit was causing a whole heap of problems for even the most experienced riders. Glad it wasnt' just us that noticed. I'm no track expert, so can't offer a reason or a solution. Perhaps I'll get another visit from an expert to tell me why next time I'm there. Almost grabbed my thick Rye coat before leaving home, but thought it'd be too warm. How wrong I was! Sat for most of the meeting shivering at the back of the Tempstand with blue hands in a foul mood almost unable to text the Twitter updates. Roll on summer! -

Some friends were down on the Sheffield coach for the 2007 play off final and were trapped in the car park for almost an hour after the meeting. Not fun when you've just been hammered 69-23 We left immediately after heat 15 last night and were lucky to be at the front of 3 rows of cars. The one's in the middle weren't so lucky! Terrible for Olly, the club and supporters. Wish him all the best. Now the search begins for suitable guest or a replacement.
